Woohoo so excited for the new season. I found a little article relating to AI through my RF fan club.
January 8, 2007 When "American Idol" returns to television on January 16, viewers will more than likely be treated to renditions of at least one Rascal Flatts song. The show, which has given country music such talent as Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler and Josh Gracin, has also given Rascal Flatts some added exposure, as their songs have been sung by contestants since the first season.
Gary Levox tells X Radio that one of the trio's songs, "Broken Road" has now become a staple of the show: "When Josh Gracin would sing it on the show, it was like 'Well, who's Rascal Flatts?'" he says. "I asked Carrie about it. That's actually a part of the show now, where they play it during the beginning stages. After they pick who is going to Hollywood, they have to sing 'Broken Road.' It's really, really cool."
Bandmate Joe Don Rooney agrees. "It's a sweet compliment anytime you get your music sung by a lot of people like that trying to win a contest," he says. "That's amazing. That's huge."
So that may be one of the new twists to the show.
