Here's the secret to results night. Tape it. Since The Office was on at 8:30 i taped the last half of Idol. It took me about 5 minutes. I saw each person leave, fast forwarded through their song, fast forwarded through Fantasia who i don't care for, and listened to Chris' song at the end!! It was perfect.

I'm not surprised with anyone who went home. I am SHOCKED that Sanjaya is in the top 4 boys!! Are you kidding me??? He must have a pretty solid fan base because he was awful the other night!!

Overall I was extremely content. Jon Bon Jovi as a special guest is immanent (THANK YOU IDOL!!!), they did a group number (which I am a huge sucker for), and I got to hear Chris' song for the first time on Idol this year. oh, and The Office was really good too.

I'm guessing songs done by early British groups since they were called "the British Invasion" way back when. (see age does have some perks...I remember back in the day!)

Beatles, Dave Clark Five, Hermans Hermits...lots a good stuff from back then (60's)

so why don't they just do the 60's?? i think Simon has something to do with this. he didn't want a "Country week" This season, so he agreed to British Invasion Week.

There will be a lot of good stuff to chose from. A lot of the 60's music was British. I'm thinking Diana Ross will be Motown.

Gwen Stefani??? songs from people who dress weird and wear strange hairdos?

Thanks for that link...brought back memories! I was in elementary school too and I can't believe that I can remember all those groups and the songs they did. I LOVE Dusty Springfield!

I have only two words to say about the kids who went home tonight: no surprises!
Although it's too bad to see our local Philly girl go....but really, even I can't defend her
I enjoyed Fantastia's performance, and I'm psyched about Gwen Stefani coming on the show!! Splendid! and i love tears for fears, so i truly enjoyed the group song, amazingly enough.

also something i wanted to add about dialidol - their rankings are not a straight 1-12. meaning, the people in the 11th and 12th spots are not who they are 100% guaranteeing will go home. there's two numbers with a dash next to the names ("4-12", "6-12", etc). these numbers mean that that person will fall somewhere within those numbers. for example, someone with a "1-4" next to their name may not REALLY be the #1 person, but they are definitely not going home....while someone who is listed fifth but has a "4-12" next to their name, may actually be going home. does that make sense? I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well, it's late!
