Has anyone heard the rumor that BRITNEY SPEARS will be on American Idol??? Don't know if it's true but the Daily Buzz teased about it this morning.

I haven't heard that one. Whoa..................that will be a shock! Do you think it is true?!?!?! If anyone finds any scoop or spoilers on that, PLEASE post it!

I read that they auditioned people for Chris' band and asked his former bandmates to audition but no one made it.

If I were Chris' former bandmates, I wouldn't audition either. What a slap in the face....

I stopped voting a couple of weeks ago and no-one in my family actually *wants* to see tonight's performances. BUT, we will be watching tomorrow night , only to see all the guest performers and this year's contestants.

If Britney walks on stage, I'm muting the TV and leaving the room to get a snack.

I used to like Britney, but now...no way I would listen to her. She has become white trash to me.



I can't wait for tonights show. I am voting for Jordin, but Blake has come on strong the last few weeks. I was not a huge Blake fan (don't like the beat box stuff) and I don't think he has a strong voice. BUT it could make for a really close final vote and I really think either of them could win. I don't think either one is a sure fire winner.

Maybe they weren't good enough? If he couldn't make it in the industry before with that band, perhaps it was time for a new band. He seems to be doing very well with the new one!

This year's finale holds no excitement for me. Even though I have liked Blake from the beginning, he should NOT win this competition. And even though Jordan has an amazing voice for a (how old is she?), I don't think she is mature enough to be the American Idol. If it were based solely on talent, Melinda would have won. Because it has come down to a popularity contest, all bets are off!
That said, I will watch, and may even vote, but AI has definitely lost it's appeal to me.

It is definitely a popularity contest and always has been -- we vote for the winner, right? That, by definition, makes it a popularity contest. If it were a straight talent competition, a panel of judges would determine the winner.

Anyway, I have another question....they never released an AI CD this year, did they? I know that last year the CD was released maybe midway through the competition. Did I miss something?

Not that I buy the CD. Just realized that.
