Yup its happened before. In season 3 Laytoya London who had an incredible voice was eliminated before, Jasmine Trias. or Diana Degarmo

I actually compare this season to season 3. Once Latoya was gone, I really didn't care - and that's exactly how I feel with Melinda gone.

Everyone knew then that Fantasia would win and I'm sure that Jordin will take it this year.

I am betting though that Jordin will have a much better career than Fantasia.

I wish they'd do new songs - I don't want to hear the same ones over and over! (like last years Somewhere Over the Rainbow - once was more than enough for me).

Just a heads up for all those who are talking about watching DWTS instead of AI. They DO NOT over lap tonight. AI is on from 7-8p (CDT) and DWTS Finale is on from 8-10p (CDT).

The big two-hour finale of AI is tomorrow.

I think Jordan will win but Blake will get a contract too. Remember at the beginning, everyone was so sure that the girls were so much stronger. And while it was three girls and Blake for a bit, it still ended up being a boy/girl final.

Oh, I'm disappointed that Blake's chosen the Bon Jovi tune for his repeat. I was hoping to hear Virtual Insanity again. That was my favorite performance by him this season.

While I'm at it, here are my five favorite performances by the contestants this season:

DWTS for us too. We will watch the first five minutes of Idol to see Paula's nose and then wait until DWTS starts.
I think that the people who liked Melinda (if they are still watching) are most likely going to throw their support to Jordin, not Blake. Just a thought..

Planned to watch DTWS but it starts at 9/8 and Idol starts at 8/7 and only lasts a hour.

It is definitely a popularity contest and always has been -- we vote for the winner, right? That, by definition, makes it a popularity contest. If it were a straight talent competition, a panel of judges would determine the winner.

Anyway, I have another question....they never released an AI CD this year, did they? I know that last year the CD was released maybe midway through the competition. Did I miss something?

Not that I buy the CD. Just realized that.

i was wondering that too, because last season it was out in the beginning of May i think.
