And when Jordin was told what her first song was going to be, she did the girlish "Yay" (with hand clap)...come to find out she had never even heard of the song!

DH and I commented on that last night too. She acted like she was so excited to sing that specific song when she heard the name of it. Then she said on stage that she had never heard of it before that week.

I want to hear Melinda sing "Gimme a break". I SWEAR she sounds just like Nell Carter, to me! I can't even listen to her sing now without thinking that.


I actually miss getting to know that contestants. I'm not talking about the sob stories. I just like knowing a little background about them. Other than the fact that Jordin is only 17, (in case anyone didn't know) I don't KNOW anything about her. I know that Melinda was a backup singer, but that's it. I don't know anything about Blake. Sure, I could go read up on them, I guess, but I don't wanna. I want to SEE it. Hmph!

I am unbiased as I have no fav or un fav out of these 3



1st songs

Jordin---ugh she ruined one of my fav songs ever!
Blake..ehh he was ok
Melinda--best in round 1

2nd songs

Jordin--better but still not good
Blake--Better than 1st
Melinda---good vocals not fond of performance though

gave round 2 a tie to blake & melinda

3rd songs

Jordin---BEST VOCAL OF THE NIGHT PERIOD!!!!!!
Blake--good song, good performance, but was expecting..WOW didn;t get it
Melinda---good job, but not as good as Jordin this round




So my voting went to melinda for consistency but I did throw a few votes to Jordin as she had the best song of the night!

Yeah, I thought that Jordin's reaction was a little odd as well.
Maybe Jordin just didn't want to be seen giving a "WTH?" or disappointed look on TV and in front of all those people. Who knows.

Melinda and Blake

Jordin and Blake. They really appeal to me. I just think Jordin has more appeal to the masses than Melinda. Nice to have three very talented top 3 singers, though.

As far as the finale, they all deserve to be there. I would have to say I would be most interested in a Blake/Jordin contest. I think Melinda is an awsome singer, but I'm just not into the type of music she would probably put out. Probably not Jordin either but to me she's more versatile.

For me, it's Melinda and Jordin. Blake's a cutie and my DD loves him , but I just don't feel that he's at the same talent level as the girls.

I'd like to see Melinda and, I can't believe I'm gonna say this, Blake. Blake really came on strong last night and I appreciate the "modern" vibe he brings to his performances. He's not a great singer, but last night he proved that he can sing.

Jordin, unfortunately, strikes me as being incredibly overrated. Yes, she was GREAT on I (Who Have Nothing) last night, but she has faltered to much for me in the past. While Blake has certainly always had some poor performances, I appreciate the modern vibe he brings to the show.

Jordin and Blake in the final for me (and I am not a huge Blake fan at all) I would rather have had Lakisha be in the top 3 than have Melinda there, she does nothing for me and I can't remember a single one of her performances from any of the shows this year. Jordins and Blakes I remember (whether they were good or bad ones)

I'm a bit confused when people say Jordin is more versatile than Melinda. Every song that Jordin sings is the same type of show ballad, when she has been forced to sing something more up beat she fails at it. Last night alone Melinda sang 3 different style songs and didn't fail at any of them. The song most like a "pop" song was you worked hard for the money and she was very weak on it. Show me a performance that wasn't a show type ballad that she excelled at. Jordin also stands completely still to sing or else she can't sing. Again the song she moved around on a lot she did poorly and had terrible breath control. I'm wondering what kind of CD she would put out "Jordin sings memorable show tunes" Yeah that sounds like what a teenager would buy. Jordin for also being a professional back up singer and recorded solo performer is not very consistent.

I would like to see Melinda and Blake. Blake because he is an entertainer and Melinda for the pure talent.

Teens aren't the only ones buying now I know my DH buys far more CD's than my DD.

As far as Jordin's reaction when they read her song choice, maybe it was more of a yea, I finally have a title so I can get busy working on it thing rather than yea, I love that song thing.

last years winner was most definately the total package. Sing, dance, and perform and entertain

ITA!!! Love Taylor! No one this season comes close.

You're kidding, right?
Taylor couldn't dance to save his life, his singing was good but not great. I will say he was a really good performer with an interesting personality, which is what got him the prize. Unfortunately, no one is buying his CD!

He is awesome in concert! A total performer.
