I was not happy that Ace and Lisa were in the bottom instead of Kevin. He should have gone home last night. I dont' enjoy hearing his voice-- something in the tone is very nasally. If he is not gone next week I am not sure I can continue to watch this show (OK I know I will but....)

I actually like Bucky. I'm not a fan of country music but do listen sometimes as I flip through the stations. His voice is not that bad. I think once he gets his appearance a little more cleaned up he will be better.

I like Chris but I want to hear what HIS voice sounds like not him sounding like someone else.

Really enjoy watching Taylor.

I haven't seen anyone comment on the song they all did together last night. I thought it was an Old Navy commercial for a few minutes. Can you say cheesy.

I see things are heating up early this year on the AI thread. My take on last night's bottom three:

Ace - Can't really argue with this, as his performances have really slipped since the first week. I was only really surprised because of the way Ryan announced it. When it was either him or Kevin, I thought for sure it was Kevin, and it probably should have been. But then, it probably should have been both of them. He probably won't be in the bottom 3 next week, simply because the hormonal vote will keep him in it.

Lisa - Lisa has one of the best voices in the competition. Period. That said, it is a perfect broadway voice, which makes sense since that is where she got her start. Trouble is...not that many people enjoy Broadway music, which translates into too few votes. Wouldn't be surprised at all if she got the boot before some of her less talented competition, and it won't matter if she does. She will make her living in music. The less talented people certainly can't say the same.

Melissa - Good riddance. Shouldn't have made the top 12 in the first place.

Was glad to see Bucky stay out of the bottom 3, along with my three favorites (Taylor, Chris, Kathryn...in that order). Hopefully, he's starting to grow on people, since I think he's actually improved every single week so far. Will be interesting to see how he does from this point forward.

Well-some here may not think Kevin or John Stevens were hot....but I bet you the girls at their high schools probably think differently!!!!



And Taylor--well..he IS hot.

The girls my 17 y/o son knows think Kevin is a little creep! Don't get them started on John Stevens. Those two boys are hight up on their nerd list and rightfully so. LOL!

Okay, my take on last night:

Why wasn't Kevin at least in the bottom three???????

I haven't liked Melissa from the start so it in no way bothered me that she was kicked off.

Ace and Lisa are both okay and while I am shocked that they were in the bottom three, at this point they all bring something different to the table and it's going to be a matter of who's fans do the most dialing.

To comment on the Kevin lisp thing. While I don't normally go around making fun of people with lisps, twitches, stutters, etc., I find it extremely distracting when the lisp is so noticable in his singing. I personally would never buy a CD of a singer who lisps his way through every song. While I don't have a problem with talking to people with speech impediments, I'm not going to pay money to hear one. I think that his lisp affects his talent. It shouldn't be used to make fun of him, but discussing his lisp is certainly justified when it affects his talent level as it does for me.

Well... my DD's were still upset over Lisa this morning. She has an amazing voice but I can see how she gets forgotten in the mix...I hope she can hang on a little longer. I'll be sure to hand her a few extra votes next week.

While Lisa's presence sort of surprised me, Ace's SHOCKED me...I'm not a big fan and I only voted for my top 6-which didn't include him-but still...wow.

Melissa was ready to go and I was ready too, but she definitely should have stayed and KEVIN SHOULD BE GONE. On vocals alone...not even involving appearance in the equation. I can see I am not with "America" on this one...here's my order worst to best...

Oh did you all know that Lisa Tucker was on Star Search about 3 yrs ago. She lost to Tiffany Evans. I thought Lisa looked familiar.

I actually told my family that Tiffany sang (the song that Lisa sang a couple weeks ago, can't remember the name now) on Star Search. Guess I was wrong, but close! I do remember her now. BTW, how fantastic was/is Tiffany? I would like to see some of these AI contestants go up against HER!

And so it begins...those STUPID cheesy, just plain awful Ford Focus sing-slong bits. What was UP with that crazy, creepy Big-foot thing???? That was just plain bizarre. Whoever is producing those things needs to stop, NOW. In fact, when Chris was just singing and playing the guitar all alone by the camp fire I could've just listened for hours...and then it got ruined when the others joined in. Seriously. The others ruined HIS song (for me...maybe not for you), then you could TOTALLY hear Kevin's lisp mutilating the group song. He has to go next or else he will mutilate the entire group sing on tour...but then again, they WILL sell more tickets with him along so who knows...

My comment for was for the girls who attended school with them. I seriously doubt they think they are nerds at this point. Heck John had lead in the school musical (it sold out) and he has a CD out.


Now--Kevin....maybe he will be as hot as William Hung.

Ace - that surprised me because of his LARGE fan base but I think he deserved it BASED on his performances the last several weeks. He needs to pick a more mainstream/decent song.

Lisa - I was surprised because I thought it would be Bucky in the bottom three, I think Lisa has one of the best voices out of the girls but I agree with the poster that said she has a GREAT "broadway" voice.

Melissa - not shocked, she should of been gone last week.

I was hoping for a country theme, but then I heard Barry Manilow is going to either be performing or guest judging next week, so naturally I figured the theme had to be Manilow songs, but now I just read on another AI board that next week is 50's music and Barry just came out with a new CD of 50's songs so it's all making sense now!

I hope they are right, I would LOVE to see Bucky do an Elvis song.

The two I dislike the most are Kevin and Paris.

I think Kevin is actually buying this whole sex symbol thing. It's like America has become his mom and is telling him things he wants to hear instead of what he NEEDS to hear. He looks like a qewpie doll (sp?) and has the dance moves of PeeWee Herman. Ugh...not a winning combination.

Paris just annoys me.

Me too!!! I was ecstatic when Bucky was NOT in the bottom three - WOO HOO!!! I think he's improved so much each week and I can't wait to hear what he sings next week.

We really like Bucky too! He's so genuine and I really love that about him. Same goes for Taylor, it's nice to see people just being themselves up there.

Do we all remember the travesty of Elton John night in season 3 or Billy Joel night in season 2? When was Barry Manilow night? Was that Season 4? I think they should just quit with the "famous singer" themes because they're always a let down. 1950s might be interesting.

I agree--I like genre nights much better.

When in their professional lives will they have to sing another artists songs in any capacity (unless the label thinks it will sell)? NEVER!

I never thought for a second that Kellie was fake. Heck, I LIVE in the South! I just don't find stupidity attractive, never did never will. There is something in some people (male, especially) who find that "endearing"... I find it disgusting and insulting. I was BORN worldly and brilliant, I am woman hear me ROAR...

What gets me is when Simon's Jr. part tells US that "America" will just love her.... I guess I must be German....

She's about as adorable as Kevin is sexy....

Kellie doesn't bother me. I've known people like her my whole life. However, I really think it is a guy thing - for those who find her minxy. Seriously, I think Simon genuinely has the hots for her. He didn't like her all "Dolly Partoned" up. It's not good for his fantasy. I also think he is definitely interested in Katherine too. I really didn't see him that way with anyone last year. Yes, he knew that Carrie would do well with the singing - but I don't think he flirted with her at all.

Then again, I could be totally wrong.

Ace and Lisa's fanbases SHOULD rally around them and step up their voting which will bring Bucky and Kevin towards the bottom 3. (My guess)

That's true. I just want to have Ace there a little longer. I know he's not the best and he won't win, but I loved when he did Father Figure but he hasn't sang like that since. I think he is the real deal - a sensitive guy. He always looks like he will throw up when it comes time for the judges comments and when they are going to announce who stays.
