What is a typical popstar?

I do think the whole package is a part of it but you have a swayed America voting....Mandisa is beautiful....Clay and Reuben....lets just say I am SOOOO not a fan of Clay.....in the looks dept....I am not meaning a package like you think as in perfect body...but the "delivery" of the performance.....the white keds ain't cuttin' it!

OMG Ace should at least get a cute factor over Kevin ---- I mean, come on, even if I was 15 I would be hot over ACE and not KEVIN...he is a total dweeb with a lisp who can't sing better than a bar rendition...

I hope he goes home soon - he is a big fat dork!

If you read my next post "appearance" to me, (as a performer) is a tad more than looks, it's the whole deal....


no Taylor may not be the hottest thing but he is has a great appearance on stage as do may of the top 12. I guess appearance may not be the best word for it....

I think this is wild, in high school I was attracted to HOT guys as compared to Kevin - the nerd!! I mean what ages are in high schools now? 9-10? This is insane???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The girls are 16. It may not have been your "hot" but it sure is theirs. I just wish the finalists would be judged on talent but I guess thats not the way it goes! Different flavors for different tastes.

Chris on the other hand is just amazing.

I'm also a big fan of Taylor and Ace. Those are my top 3!

I don't think Kevin is hot but I do think he's adorable. I don't think he's the best singer, but I do like him and I think he deserves to be there just as much as anyone else. He has a nice voice, and he is entertaining to watch, because he obviously doesn't know how to dance. And as I've said before, I don't want him to last very long, because I don't want him to end up like John Stevens. You could tell that the negativity was really getting to him when he was finally voted off. I just feel bad because he obviously doesn't look like a popstar, and he doesn't really look like the kid that's popular in school. I just really don't think it's very nice for people to be calling him a "loser," and a "nerd" and all those other names. I don't know how he's treated in school, but I know very well what it's like to be called names in school, and it's really not a great feeling. I just really wanted him to do well because he is an underdog, and I've just always wanted to see people like him do well, which is why I've liked him ever since his audition. If people don't like his singing then it's fine, but it really gets to me when people start bashing him because of his looks and his lisp/twitching.

Of course you're forgiven ...I think we all say things sometimes that we wish we could take back.

I have to say that I was shocked it was Ace in the bottom 3 instead of kevin. I think Ace has a good voice and hope this was a wake up call for him to start picking some better songs.

Well-some here may not think Kevin or John Stevens were hot....but I bet you the girls at their high schools probably think differently!!!!



And Taylor--well..he IS hot.

sad to see melissa go, but not surprised. i wish it had been kellie.
i am glad kevin is still there, because as others have said, he is entertaining. i watch the show to be entertained or blown away. kevin & bucky crack me up, and taylor & mandisa & chris & elliot delight me with their talents, and many of the other contestants i can take or leave. i find kellie, ace, and lisa boring to watch & listen to. i have always preferred singers who are 'interesting' sounding to those with great technical skill, like david byrne (talking heads), nico (velvet underground), billy corgan (smashing pumpkins), diamanda galas (a billion points to you if you know who that is). i loved john stevens too! but that's just my opinion.

Oh--and Kevin might have gotten some Simon votes--that has worked (IMHO) for contestants in the past.

He wasn't a coward--he stood up to Simon's remarks.

Now that's hot.





And I sooo would have thought he was cute in high school (hot wasn't in my vocabulary back then). I guess I like dweebs.

Good for my hubby though since many of my friends thought he was a dweeb.

I do not expect Kevin to be around much longer- he has a good voice, but he is not the Idol, especially against some of the other contestants. I got the impression that he was joking when he said that he was the sex symbol of the show- he laughed after he said it, and I think it was in reference to the fact that everyone is talking about how hot Ace and Chris are- he know he is not the sex symbol. I thought it was nice that he didn't take himself so seriously. I was disturbed his song choice- I kept saying to my DH "He's just a baby! He shouldn't be singing about part time lovers!"

I totally believe it was in jest. He's hamming it up and enjoying himself. Probably knows his days are numbered--so heck, why not enjoy it!

All of this talk about looks! I don't care how they look within reason, I just don't like Kevin's voice or his attitude. But then I like Bucky so according to many of these posts what do I know?

I'm happy for Bucky that he stepped WAY out his comfort zone unlike many of the others and didn't even hit the bottom three. I think that's impressive personally.

As for who girls think is hot nowadays, I know for a fact that me and my friends would have been totally blown away by Ace. I'm surprised that tastes have apparently changed so much.
