Well all you ace fans if you really like him you better start VOTING over and over!! Newsday today is reporting that Ace, Elliot and Chris were "among the LOWEST vote getters" ! That was surprising!!

It's the teeney-bopper factor. Teenagers can text message VOTE quicker than us older folks can dial a 10 digit number

I have a very hard time believing this. (Ace and Chris more than Elliot.) Especially since Fox/AI don't release the voting totals. Is this based on the fact that they were seated on the lower tier with Sway and Bobby? That has no merit as AI mixed them all up with the guys (Patrick, the 2nd lowest vote getter was seated in the top row). I never liked that "newspaper" (Newsday) to begin with, and here it seems like they have no idea what they're talking about.

That journalist is making false assumptions. There is nothing to confirm that Ace, Chris, and Elliot were the lowest vote getters, especially since the 2nd lowest vote getter was sitting on the top row. AI producers do seat the contestants in particular orders, and with the guys, I think they mixed it up, seating arrangements mean NOTHING. Just my opinion, but this reporter is not very good, you can't make assumptions like that.

Edite: Oooh, kinda surprised when I looked at who wrote this thing. He's been with the paper for a long time, I remember reading his articles when I lived on Long Island a few years ago. He should definitely know better.

About that VFTW thing: It just makes sense to me. If you wanted everyone else to stay on except one person, then you'd have to make 11 calls...10 of which would probably not get through.

Some guys (like Patrick) get caught in the rift on that deal...because while his performance wasn't particularly memorable, it definitely wasn't the worst. I don't think he should have been voted off this week.

Another fallout from the current type of voting system is that everyone assumes Ace will make it to the next round and doesn't vote for him...leaving him possibly in the lower portion of vote getters.


About the "losing song" being sung again, I agree. It was really painful to hear Becky sing that song last night. It was equally painful to hear Bobby sing. I suppose it reinforces our reasons for not voting in their case...but I didn't think the other two did such a bad job. Their choice of songs was just wrong.

I could hear Scott Savol sing "On Broadway" over and over again...I'd just have to close my eyes and imagine he looked like Ace....

Not sure if this was mentioned, but I don't want to read through 60-some pages. Becky and her twin sister were contestants on Fear Factor and they aired it last night on UPN. They sucked on that show as well....got eliminated on the first stunt.

My fiance and I always say that too!! It's so awful. I don't think I could do it. Let's embarrass you on national TV and tell you that millions of viewers don't like you and don't think you can sing well and then force you to sing in front of them one last time. Yikes!!

I'm with you. I just don't get it - I don't like him at all. It's not just his singing voice, either. Just something about him is very annoying.

I played poker with Elliott last year. No idea he would do what he's doing. I had heard that he just blew people away singing karaoke at Friday's but man, this guy is awesome. I'm voting for both him and Taylor.

There is really good talent this year. My favorites: #1. Taylor Hicks, 2. Elliot Yamin, 3. Chris Daughtry, 4. Lisa Tucker, 5. Paris Bennett

Since this is my first American Idol season, could someone please explain what happens next? Obviously they need to whittle down the group, but how do they do it? Do 2 from each group get eliminated every week? Do we vote all the way through?
