Elliott...where the heck did he come from...he was GOOD! I don't thin k they have ever shown him before.

You know what's funny is that Elliott Yamin is from our town and until Monday, we hadn't heard squat that anyone from Richmond was even in the Hollywood part of AI!

Boy, they "wasted" so much time on the city auditions, and now are "flying" through Hollywood week. They are moving so fast, I can't keep track of hardly anyone (except those stuck-up twins). I wish they'd cut down on the city time and focus more on the actual auditions. I guess tonight we'll be down to 24 then next week we start to vote....

No one yet who I really see as a top condender.....Unlike last year where I had Carrie picked out from the beginning.

I agree, they are going TOO FAST through the Hollywood auditions... they should have given two weeks to the Hollywood auditions....

Exactly!!! Cut the auditions in half and double up the Hollywood. The conflicts between the serious competitors is much more entertaining than listening to those horrific auditions.

Maybe the reason they did this was to minimalize the top talent so we couldn't pick the winner from the beginning?

When they showed all the singers singing the wrong words to the songs. One girl sang "slap my naked rear" or something like that...Simon faces! He kind of enjoyed those lyrics, I think!

Oh No!! The funeral guy is out?? Well that just stinks. I really liked his voice and he was nice on the eyes too.

And OMG on messing up the lyrics. I was in hysterics over that. Especially the slap my rear train wreck. Did none of those people ever hear that song before?!

My favorites appeared to have made it through! My NC natives Kelly "Mah-Daddy's-in-Jail" Pickler and Chris "the-bald-rocker-dude". Totally finalists right there (if not one and two, with Chris being number one).

Ugh, the Brittenums can't get gone soon enough. One butchered his song lyrics after complaining about his own group non-stop all night (and he stunk vocally) and they are both so conceited I could scream.

This is my take on it, too. Simon commented last night when they were picking the final 44 something like "I can see this person as a finalist." But they didn't say who they were talking about. Maybe there are one or two people who really stand out. They don't want to end the suspense, so they aren't focusing on them.

I cannot believe they let the twins stay. (Are these the ones that get kicked off later for run-ins with the police? At least we know we won't have to watch them forever.) Maybe the reason they kept them was because they wanted America to have the chance to kick them off, or maybe they wanted a dramatic twin-splitting episode later in the season.

Forgive if this has already been answered, but regarding those arrogant idiot twins . . . why are they still on there? From what I have understood, there are felony charges out against them for ID theft, and then some so-called record producer gave them a "supposed" contract.

Uh, isn't this against the rules (both issues) for them to still be on there? They were also supposed to be "uninvited" by AI, so again, why are they still being shown? I would rather the show highlight more positive individuals, not self-absorbed idiots like the twins. If they are such hot-shots, then why are they in line with everyone else? Sounds like they know no more than the person sitting next to them!

So again, with the felony charges and the "supposed" contract, why are they still on ? ? ? Why haven't they been edited out?

You have to remember that all of this was taped before their incident. They did get removed from the competition but that happened after they were actually in Hollywood. They will not be on Idol when it is live.

I'm not sure when the actual 24 cut took place. Perhaps we will see them be cut tonight.

I did think Paris would be near the top, but I was not impressed with her at all last night. I agree that we may not have even seen some of the best singers yet. I remember last year during the Live episodes when I first heard Bo. I said "where did he come from, I never even saw him before!"

About the twins, the final 24 cut that we'll see tonight was taped in mid-to-late-January I believe (which may explain why Mandisa (one of my early favorites) knows about Simon's fat jokes). I am fairly certain that the twins were NOT invited to this final cut so we will not see any new footage of them. What I am curious about is if they will mention it or not, which I'm sure because they were focused on way too much in the Hollywood rounds (I can understand this, much of the Drama came from them)

I remember in past seasons, they would feature 2 audition cities in one episode. I wish they went back to this, because they went on waaaaay too long and I felt Hollywood was rushed. They easily could have (and should have) made last night's episode 2 hours.

I agree, last night should have been 2 hours! I wanted to see more of the singers.

I laugh over the forgotten words, the songs they have them sing are so much ingrained in my head that I know all the words...and even my kids (teens) knew them all. Maybe nerves makes them forget. But I do think it's funny when they make up their own words!!

Ok, first, the twin that flaked and quit because his "spirit was broken"...only to find out that his bro hadn't been booted after all...was quite possibly the funniest moment ever on AI. Nothing like seeing someone trying to make themselves into a martyr, only to find out that their chosen cause isn't so valid after all.

Secondly, the VFTW crowd would really prove their immaturity if they picked (Taylor?...the gray haired guy) as their candidate. I mean, how dumb do you have to be to wail and moan about how all the AI people want are cookie-cutter pop stars with no real soul of their own, then turn around and promote as the "worst" candidate a supremely talented guy who they can make fun of 'cause he moves like Joe Cocker? It's like complaining about how corrupt politicians are these days...then campaigning for Tom Delay. Actually, maybe it was one of the "twins" that started that site. At least, they have the same over-inflated opinion of their self worth.

We'll see what happens once Taylor performs week after week. Honestly, I don't think he is a very good candidate, and nothing is set in stone until the end of Wednesday's show. I personally am pushing for David Radford, but there will be about 3-5 guys in the top 24 we have enver heard from. The female candidate will most likely be either Becky O'Donahue (her sister came to support her in Boston but couldn't sing) or Brenna Gethers (total egotistical drama queen in last night's episode) Of course all picks are based on whether or not they even make the top 24 which we'll find out later tonight.

I agree that they're blowing through the Hollywood auditions way too fast and dragging out the city auditions way too much. I much prefer watching the Hollywood auditions to watching those painful city auditions for hours on end. Do you think they're doing it so they don't give too much "camera time" to anyone who's a real contender? That's the only reason I can think of for them to continue allowing those twins in and giving them and the sweet cowboy who is adorable but obviously not top candidate material so much camera time. Does it seem like they're leaving strong singers off camera and focusing on the crazies they know won't make the final group to avoid getting America attached to a personality before they really take the stage?

Also, I don't understand the new system of telling all the people they're in, then calling them back to cut people out without giving them another chance to sing. Why don't they just choose the top 24 there and put them in one room? I feel so bad for someone who goes back to Hollywood, doesn't even get another chance to sing, and gets cut. Why not review tapes, make what you think is the final selection, and give them one last chance? Why are they doing it that way now?

One more thing--why did they all think that writing the words on their arms would help? That is such a bad idea! Like it's not bad enough to forget the words, the ones who just made something up looked better than those who hummed and stared at their wrists!

It was done the same way last year. Remember the elevator trip up to the room by themselves? At that point they pick 12 males and 12 females. I'm not sure I like the even numbers thing, some really good singers could miss out because they were #13 on the list.

They will sing an individual song tonight...kinda once last shot. Those that screwed up a bit in last nights show are being given one more try to hopefully do good.
