LOL ! :rotfl2:

We dont care what he sang - we just hope this year's A.I. includes a *topless* and in your undies week, and Ace makes it that far!!! :lovestruc

Who's your mommy?!? :rotfl:

LOL. Ace is indeed easy on the eyes, paula mentioned him in an interview she did in some magazine, she also mentioned a Patrick. Can't wait to see that one too, unless I missed him...

The one thing that bothered me about Ace is the way he stood, he was slouched over, he needs to work on his posture which I think will help him sing even better too.

With all the other stuff going on in this thread I wanted to adda little something. I believe it was the Scat girl from last year? if not a girl equally horrible. Anyways who ever the girl was auditoned as a thing for a local radio station, they hired her to do as horrible and outrageous as she could to see how far it would get her, it got her on TV. I;m sure some other people on there may be doing the same thing, they may or may not be that crazy.

gometros - Thanks for pointing out that I made an error - I obviously meant to say 'parentheses' and not 'italics.' I posted very quickly on the way to school, never should have done that, so thanks for pointing that out.

I regards to other posters who are questioning whether or not people are acting, etc. on AI, I never said I was a doctor, which means I can't diagnose people either. I approached this as someone trained in observation and assessment - people who present with behaviour, learning or mental challenges have similar ways about them. You don't need to watch them for hours, a few seconds is all that is necessary sometimes, and watching some of the AI contestants this week really drove this point home for me (and my hubby, by the way).

For example, we can look at their speech patterns, focusing abilities, anger issues, delusional about talents/abilities, etc. Does it mean that if others present with these symptoms that they are 'challenged' in some way? Of course not! I commented that some of the contestants (more and more each year it seems) are presenting with these behaviours and in my expertise as a special education teacher who sees these same people each and every day in my office, it is more than likely not an act. Some of the contestants are definitely acting, and it's easy to pick them out, but AI is exploiting gender confused people for example because they have recognized that there are personal issues at hand. It's not responsible IMHO to do this, and this is why I am angry with AI - and I've received a few PMs from other DIS members who agree with me as well, so obviously, others are recognizing this as well.

For those of you who like the show, good for you. For those of you who think everyone is acting and no one is unstable in any way, shape or form, I would beg to differ. It doesn't matter if one has to sign a waiver to be on AI or not, if you can't understand what you are signing, then what's the point? And you can bet AI absolutely knows this, since so many of you are watching the show exploit the heck out of emotionally fragile people each and every week. Anyone remember Jerry Springer? Do you think most of those people were rational, stable individuals? AI is smart and savvy with what they are doing, and it's very socially responsible, IMHO to recognize this as being unacceptable. I hate to see what the future of television holds, but since so many of you have been sucked in by AI's tactics, I can only imagine!!

Okay good--b/c that boy is a HOTTIE!

You know I looked at him and said to my DH, I don't care if he can sing or not. Put him through to Hollywood! The fact that he could sing was just icing on the cake. :teeth:

   Did he sing? I didn't notice :confused3

Wow. If Ace makes it into the Top 12 (or even 24) and people are voting for him just because he is hot, I should never be criticized for participating in VFTW ever again. There's not much difference.

Unless Ace is the VFTW candidate, hmmmmmmmmm.......... (From what I've seen I'm personally rooting for April Walsh, she who sang Bjork and tried to go up the down escalator)

Ace is my guy so far. I actually listened to his singing and I thought he stood out as one of the best so far. Of course, we haven't really heard a lot of the others yet.

I thought he was 17, but hoping he has turned 18 by now. ;)

I'm pretty sure Ace is around 24.

Edited to add: Went back to the episode on DVR, yup he is 24.

i read a blurb in the chgo paper sometime ago that simon made a prediction on the outcome already. this aggravated paula to no end. remember when simon stated in the very beginning of last year, during the tryouts, that carrie was going to be the winner?

simon stated something about an irish girl would be in the finals hands down.

i can't remember which location she tried out at.
is there one in vegas for this season? i vaguely think that place was mentioned.

next week is denver.

paula in this blurb raked simon over the coals for speaking up so soon.

Ahhh yes, the Irish girl from the Vegas auditions (and there are auditions in Vegas this season.)

Something happened with this girl with her visa, or soemthing like that which required her to pull put of the competition.

now the visa part i didn't read about yet.

i will have to keep an eye out for her on the vegas section when they show it.

wonder who simon will root for now?
or maybe he will keep mum about his thoughts on who will get down to the wire.

very interesting, thanks slacking for the 411

I remember watching Paula on Ellen and she said that in the past it has bugged her when Simon made predictions, like last year with Carrie, and it makes the other contestants feel discouraged. But she said this year that there are a lot of talented singers and Simon doesn't know who will win. I think she said that he said it will be someone from the south.

IMO, Its a safe bet that they probably won't even show her audition.

Well, another audition episode over. It always amazes me that the people with wonderful voices are always so surprised and grateful to make it to the next round and the bad ones are always so incensed when they don't make it to the next round.

So what did we all think tonight, time to start the discussions.

I really liked the 17 year old that sang Billie Holiday...her squeaky little talking voice made me a little nervous...but man can she sing!

I missed the first hour, the kids taped it so I have to go watch it now.
