I will be utterly stunned in McPhee's CD does better than Taylor's. Sorry, peeps, but she's cute in a pageant way and sings in a pageant way. She's not that good. Unless her CD includes 12 different variations of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Or a full booklet of various cleavage shots.

Can't stand. her. Or her "McPhamily". I would love it if they tried to merchanize that annoying McPhan stuff....McDonalds would be all over them with "cease and desist" letters in 10 seconds flat.

What I find interesting is, last night I went back and read this thread from the start. Taylor immediately caught everyone's eye and became a fave from the start. No one ever seemed to mention her. She didn't really stand out.

I taped Idol and even with fast forwarding through the commercials, it really dragged on. It was funny in some parts, weird in others and mostly downright disturbing. Usually, I reserve those comments for the judges but last night it had more to do with the guest performers. With that said, AI never disappoints!

My tape cut out however right after they announced Taylor as the winner so I couldn't see the ending.

I thought Prince did a great job but agree that it seemed like his spot was just stuck there at the end.

I thought the Meatloaf Kat duet was so good that he should tour with her. I forgot how much I love him!!

I saw Meatloaf in a smaller venue concert about 6 or 7 years ago. He had a "Kat-like" girl singing with him. I think if they had more time to work together, they'd work it out. Of course, like all of the artists of 20+ years ago, they can't really do their glory notes anymore.

I heard Kat in an interview and she said she didn't really know who he was (other than name recognition) or what kind of music he did. She said she had no idea that he was so theatrical.

My kids have been listening to Meatloaf since they were in the womb! We still laugh that they used to sing "Like a bat on a hill" when they were little. Dh and son both play piano/keyboard so Meatloaf's works as well as other piano ballads get a lot of play time here.

It was actually quite good and I'm a Kat fan.

It definitely was a much better song then Kat's.

Woohoo!! I got my AI tickets for September 15th! They are not the best seats in the house, but it's a small venue, so there really isn't a "bad" seat. I am taking my DD with me. She is so excited!

On his website he mentions his grandmother as being the big influence in his life. Not sure where his Mom is. I wouldn't mind adopting him!!

I loved the show last night - best FINALE ever!!

They finally added shows in TEXAS - I checked last night after Ryan said they added 15 more shows and found out tickets go on sale Saturday, May 27 - well, this morning something told me to check and I did and they went on sale TODAY at 10:00, I missed the first section seats but got some ok seats, it's a small theatre so I'm hoping all the seats are good.
