I'll tell you who needs to go ... the band!

They are so LOUD all the time, you can barely hear anyone sing. No wonder some of the idols sound like they are screaming. They are, just to be able to hear themselves.

I'm listening to the mp3s right now and can't hear Taylor at the end of "Ghetto" over the band. Gheez!

Yes yes yes yes YES! The band is TOO loud, could someone PLEASE turn down the band's amps & turn up the singers'?!? I've said to my DH in the past that maybe the band has their favorites...maybe sometimes they deliberately mess up some of the performances.

DD7 won't let us watch on wednesdays anymore because she is too sad to see anyone go home! So I will have to wait until tomorrow morning. I have a feeling it will be Kat - you just don't forget the words to your song at this stage of the game!

Ok, this may be a really stupid question.

If people are voting non-stop for 2 hours, and there is only a finite amount of calls that a phone line can handle in that 2 hour hour frame, then why shouldn't we assume that all 4 contestants will have the exact same number of votes? You can only have as many votes as the number of calls that get through, right?

I highly doubt that there is a point within that 2 hour frame where NOBODY is calling in for a contestant. Does this even make sense? I haven't finished my coffee yet, so that could be my excuse...

i was hoping Chris would get another week, but DH is thinking he will go tomorrow!

My sister is really spazzing out about Chris. She was begging me to vote for him last night, and said how she's going to be so mad if he gets voted off. I guess I shouldn't talk, but she gets really REALLY attached to people on this show...in season 3, she loved JPL and he got voted off pretty early. Then last year she was obsessed with Mario, and he dropped out. And then there's Will and David...LOL.

It's really going to be a tough results show tonight. I split my votes between Elliott and Chris, but after seeing dialidol (and listening to my sister beg!), I started voting only for Chris. I really like Elliott, but I'd hate to see Chris go. I also really like Katharine, but I sort of hope she's the one going home. That would also make my sister happy because she wants a guy to win this season.

I'm sort of glad I won't have my TV tonight to watch...hehe

Oh my gosh!! I thought I was the only person who thought of that. I tried to explain it to my family and they were like . Now, at this point in the game, I can see how contestants get a different number of votes, but when it gets down to 2, especially, and both phone lines are totally busy the whole time - can't we assume it's pretty much equal? I'm no technical guru, but I wonder if someone can explain that.

Here's something else that occurred to me last night, as pathetic as it is: I wonder if Taylor has an edge because his fans are older and we're allowed to stay up later to vote . Seriously - don't you think? I'm not gonna let my kid stay up til 11 voting for Chris. "Hang that up and GO TO SLEEP!!!!" (Oh and hand me the phone while you're at it.)

Am I the only Elliott FAN here?? I want the final 2 to be Chris and him. I prefer Chris to win, but will be happy also if Elliott does. I love his voice and I think he's down to earth, honest and sweet...and that makes him cute also.

Not at all. A couple pages back there were some people asking the same thing! I think he has a fine voice, but he doesn't excite me like the other 2 guys (nothing to do w/looks BTW) Best of luck to him, though. I do want him in the final 3 if that helps!

Looooved last night's show. And it made me do something I NEVER DID BEFORE....

I actually VOTED 3 times for ELLIOTT!!!

He actually GOT to me! I think he brought out his big guns last night and I actually thought he was good. Kat... well, I don't know if it was nerves or what but I almost expected her to say in her best Southern accent "I BUTCHERED IT"!

Chris sounded good but looked out of it. I agree with the others, he looks bored. Taylor kind of looked that way a few weeks ago, but when we're down to the wire, it's NO time to be bored!

In order I'd give the following from Best to Worst:

Elliott
Taylor
Chris
Katharine.

I truly believe that Elliott's fan base will see him thru but I don't believe Kat's will. Besides, it wouldn't be a GOOD final 2 without Chris. It'll be more like the year with Fantasia and Diana DeGarmo... ... I spent the night thinking any vote for Diana would more be a vote against Fantasia. Chris vs. Taylor would be the ticket of the year, not to mention a ratings phenomena!

Simon was on the Today Show giving his "predictions". Of course he had to back peddle on his "Pickler Pick" from 8 weeks back... boy was HE off!!!... and last week it was announced that it was Chris' competition to win. Today he says it SHOULD be Chris v. Taylor but gave no winner.

We'll see.....

I agree, the band has been way too loud all season - I complained about it when Bucky was still around - you could hardly hear him some weeks and it wasn't because he COULDN'T PRONOUNCE the words, it was the band.

As for last night I enjoyed the show. Taylor has grown on me a little. I'm hoping for a Taylor/Chris finale but you never know what's going to happen. I agree with Simon that Elliott deserves to go on to the next round after last night's performances.

Dial idol has Chris going home tonight - WOAH!!!

Could we have a SHOCKER of an elimination or will Kat go home like most expect????

Not only the band but the background singers too! They have been quieter the last few weeks, but remember back in the beginning how they were drowning out the singers? I wonder if that is what messes Katharine up? She sounds so good when she is singing in her little clips with only a piano, but when she is up with the band she looses her notes.

Can't blame the band or the background singers, blame the sound editor. The music we hear sometimes differs from what the singers hear, also what the people in person hear, which is probably why everyone reports back that they always sound so much better in person.

This has been a constant problem, it's beyond me why the producers have not made an adjustment.

I think Taylor is a sure thing to make it through tonight and I can't imagine Elliott going home after he stepped it up like he did last night.
So even though I'd hate to see Kat go, I hope it's her tonight.

Just my opinion - but I think Taylor pretty much has a win locked up against either Kat or Elliott in the final two, but I always thought Chris could pose some serious competition - but not with with performances like his 2nd one last night. The boy better bring it if he makes it through tonight!

Ok, it's no secret who I like; I won't reiterate. Ok, and I even LOVE his dancing. But this is me during Jailhouse Rock last night:

"Taylor stand still man. Ok, stop...stop, stop, STOP.

....

Dude that's not good, put down your leg. Put it down, put it down, PUT IT DOWN!!!

....

Stop it stop it stop it, they're gonna kill you man, STOP IT!"



I want him in the final 2 so bad I can't stand it. But to get there maybe he should shackle himself to the stage, just for next week, so he can kick his "silly guy" reputation. Because the vocals on JH were actually pretty good.

Personally I don't think you have to worry too much, I'd be shocked if Taylor didn't make it to the final two.
But I can just see you yelling your stage directions from home.
Love it!

So at what point do they replay Simon's comment from the very first Taylor audition where he and Randy/Paula fought over Taylor? I believe Simon said something about him never ever making the top 12....ahhahahahahahhahahahahah!!!

Let me just add, I will be devastated if Chris goes home tonight! It should come down to him and Taylor in the finals (it would be a ratings GIANT). Then I don't care who wins, because they are both awesome (but I think Chris is the better performer).

Thanks for that link, ckay87! It was fun to watch that again and see how far he's come. I had to snicker when they asked Taylor to sing a little of something else and Randy said "shake it out man!" 'cause Taylor was nervous! Little did he know how Taylor would heed that advice!! Shakin' it out every week!!!!!!

Did anyone notice last night what was said about Kat by (?)Tommy? Something about how things are so easy for her singing that sometimes she forgets... Yet, the judges (and I) have noticed that Elliott works so hard, and seems to take all the advice so seriously I'm now kind of rooting for Elliott-besides, he turned in what I thought was the best performance last night. I'm a teacher, and it's sort of like having 2 students, student #1 never has to study, is the first one finished on his test, obviously doesn't need to study much; meanwhile student #2 asks questions, takes notes, does all his homework and maybe one of the last ones finished with his test because he was so thorough. Part of me wants to see student #2 beat out #1, just like part of me wants Elliott to win. And after his performance, I think all of me wants him to win!

Honestly - I think they should put Chris out of his misery, and vote him off tonight. He so obviously realized he doesn't WANT to win this. Just let him go. Let someone who wants and NEEDS this, stay.

I honestly like all 4 of them. Any one of them could win. I've probably been most entertained by Taylor but I am currently rooting for Elliott week to week. He is definitely "MOST IMPROVED"...looking back to the early performances compared to now...WOW. He look better, he's more comfortable, and he sounds better. That's what is so great about Idol...watch a rising star!
