Ace - AKA "Bashful the Dwarf" or this guy:  - 1) Lose the make-up, dude, you look like a mime.

:lmao: Eric.. don't make me get Jeff over here

Elliot - AKA "The Homicidal Amishman" or "The Bouncy White R&B Wannabe" - Yeah...um...if you "thought that was Freddy" singing, I'd strongly suggest a trip to the ear, nose, and throat specialist for a hearing test. ;) I just don't see the attraction to the little monkey at all, and the vibrato (that the word you were looking for, Maureen?)

Yeah, thats it! (and psst.. it's Laureen... you still haven't forgiven me for pushing you into the World Showcase Lagoon in Disney Survivor have you? :rotfl:

There was just an article in the local paper about how the contestants families have to raise their own money to go view the show, which is fine imo.

As bicker said, the exposure alone is worth a lot of money in the long run. It's not paying the bills now but a saavy contestant can make money from it in the future.

I did hear somewhere that they get $400 per show to spend on wardrobe. Wonder if they get to keep what they don't spend? Some of the guys don't look like they are putting out anywhere near $400 unless they are getting some expensive shoes!

I'm not sure about singers but teeth placement affects musical intsrument playing ability.

My son plays the oboe which uses a very tall and narrow reed t play the woodwind instrument. The placement of the reed is a precise thing where teeth, tongue and breathing have to be done in a correct way or two things will happen

1 Reeds will break in your mouth
2 You can't breath and play at the same time.

Orthodontia will affect his playing. It will realign the teeth and the metal will change the tone of the instrument.
Actually there are dentists who specialize in improving musicians' teeth. A friend of DS's had nothing wrong with his teeth, but he went to this specialist to realign things to improve his performance (I think he played trombone or tuba). Since I found out about that, I've wondered if any of the musical performers (like Elliott) would consider doing something like this, since he could benefit from work anyways.

I'm not sure if I necessarily agree with that. Reality TV stars are a dime a dozen these days, and although these reality stars have a talent, it's not usually an AMAZING talent or they would've won the show. There was a True Life episode on MTV called "True Life I was a Reality TV Star" about 3 reality contestants and what they are doing now to try to extend their 15 minutes and they really have to do some 'interesting' things to pursue their fame and it doesn't lead anywhere close to fortune. If you pass on something or aren't perfect for something, there are hundreds of other former reality stars waiting in the wings to take that money.

Melissa McGhee wore a leather vest/shirt in one of the earlier shows that was H-O-T. I searched for a week for that thing on the internet and never found it.

American Idol's producers compensate the contestants very generously, by giving them exposure to tens of millions of people every week. They give them an incredible shot at their dream.
You mean, kind of like schools giving student athletes a "free" education...while making millions of dollars off of their blood and sweat? :confused3

Sorry, but if the contestants aren't being compensated for those commercials, something is seriously wrong, 'cause I guarantee you they (the producers) are getting seriously PAID by the advertisers.

That's what I get for posting while listening to the Rent soundtrack :) Sorry 'bout that ;)

Now we know why all the good songs were not sang last night....they used them all tonight. I enjoyed that! (and that is so the song Chris should have sang last night!!!)

With the exception of the results... and Queen appearing.... TONIGHT IS GOING TO S T I N K!

Anything good going on? I am watching Amazing Race until 9pm :)

I don't understand at all why Chris did not sing Under Pressure last night. He could have been really electric. What a missed opportunity...though he isn't going anywhere.

"McFever".... put a bullet to my head.... pulled the trigger, now I'm dead!

Uggh... shoot me...

Almost word for word what I just said to Dh ::yes::

I am hoping Paris gets the boot tonite. I really can't tolerate her any longer. Taylor needs to win!

I was kinda hoping Chris would be in the bottom 3 just to put the fear in him and maybe then he'd do something different. I do have to say though, he's one of those that's a rare breed; he makes a decision and sticks with it good or bad. He's not 2nd guessing himself.
