I think CJ is getting votes because he is so likeable. I really don't think his voice is that bad. I actually like it but he does need to work on a few things and some others do too.

Its probably not going to be long before CJ goes, he probably knows it

unfortunately, I'm not much of a fan of either. I love the bluesiness of CJ, but he is too off key half the time.. and even though Dexter has a great voice, I find it boring.. just a country "cover".

I liked Alex, Jena and Dexter this week.

Did not like CJ or Malaya this week.


Absolutely gobsmacked that the teenyboppers didn't vote for Sam this week. Was that a teen convention or something in the US?



Ah well....perhaps I might not be old enough to remember the music of the 80's or perhaps the 80's was the decade that I snoozed through where music was concerned.

All that overly synthesized pop, dance music and new wave. Thank goodness for The Police, Cyndi Lauper and George Michael; and all those singer songwriters at the end of the decade.

I will positively gag if I hear any songs from Duran Duran, Adam Ant, Spandau Ballet or Culture Club. Of course, I speak of my personal taste and in no way do I mean to offend anyone here who might actually like any of these groups.

OMG! I would love to hear an Adam Ant or Duran Duran song! But Whitney? NO!!!

Wow, Nancy, we are VERY close in age.

I turned 30 in 86, same year my first son was born. The last half was me just running from NY to GA, a BIG blur. I didn't really start living again till 1993 when Prince Michael came into my life

My CRAZY days were during the days of Michael Jackson's Thriller and Prince's Purple Rain. Man, I'd sell my house to see Caleb attempt Prince...WOW!!

This is the issue with the Voice, also. They have people from certain demographics voting and buying on iTunes for their favorite singer and both are taken into account. I hardly ever purchase on iTunes and haven't in years. And for this group NEVER. If I can't hear it on youtube I don't need to hear it at all.

Speaking of the Voice, I really like a country guy on that show...yes, ME, COUNTRY!!

People, including me, buy songs while they're on the show, but they aren't selling much after it's over, even with the boost of opening for their mentors in some cases on tour. At least idol has Carrie, Kelly, Scotty and successful non-winners like Adam and Jennifer Hudson. So... I don't know if including itunes sales means that much for projecting future success. And this is from an itunes fanatic.

I agree. They've had contestants with the number one spot on Itunes and they didn't succeed after the show.

I, personally, watch the show for entertainment. The success of the contestants after the show doesn't concern me in the least. The kind of music I like will never be a best seller and most of the stuff on the top of the charts I cannot STAND (except Happy, which I'm obsessed with ).
