So is there still a chance for wild cards?

Me too. What I find depressing is that some of the girls that were let go yesterday are far better than the guys that got through today. They are more interested in keeping the male/female numbers even than keeping the best 20 singers.
I've always hated they do that on AI, they should pick the top singers regardless of gender.
The only three I liked last night were Vincent, Urkel guy, and Hawaiian guy.
One thing that really bugs me is Nikki getting angry with the other judges because they have a different opinion. I generally think she has good advice for the contestants, really taking note and telling them what she does or does not like and giving them practical advice (unlike dumb Randy who just says "dude that was terrible" or uses his critique as a chance to name drop).
What really gets me going is when it's time for the other judges to talk (especially Mariah), Nikki starts rolling her eyes and making faces. I'm amazed that Mariah has been able to keep her cool. I bet this is her first and last season as a judge. You can tell those two hate each other, Nikki just a lot less professional about it.
I totally agree with you. Nikki seems to gush over anyone with a hard luck story, whether they can sing or not, whereas Mariah tries to say something positive and encouraging even when she doesn't like it. Mariah seems much less of a Diva than Nikki which surprises me. I think Nikki is rude to the contestants unnecessarily, as well as being rude to Mariah.
The other thing about Nikki is she comments more about looks, bordering on inappropriate. Like last night when she told the one guy he was gorgeous and asked if he was married. When the guy said yes and pointed to his wife in the audience she said "Oh" and lost interest. I noticed they sent that guy home too. She focused on Dovanne's hard luck story too. She needs to focus on singing only, not how they look and their hard luck story. I'm sure all of them have a sad story in their past.
Sadly, I don't think the guy with the turban(sorry, I can't remember what it is called) would have gone very far no matter how well he sang because he didn't fit their "mold". It really is unfair at times
One last thing...Keith Urban is doing a much better job than I thought he would. He gives good critiques, and seems to do it in a nice way.
I so agree about the difference between Nicki and Mariah. It reminds me of when I was in radio and the difference between the established artists and the "wannabes". The established (and I mean the ones with YEARS of success and zillions of dollars) were by far the nicest and most cordial. The "wannabes" acted like their poop didn't stink and yours did.
Nicki, seriously, is not in Mariah's league by miles and they both know it. Mariah has decided (thank God) to ignore her while she basks in the glow of Randy's tongue lapping.
Nicki is trying to make a name for herself and since she's bordering on "gangsta" and her following LIKES that, she has to be controversial and against the grain. Sad, because SOME of her critiques don't sound like the typical "Nigel Notes" and can sometimes make sense...
I love Keith, he brings experience and common sense to the table, tinged with a bit of Australian accented kindness. What's not to love???
Randy... Randy is a waste of protoplasm.![]()
I agree with everything you said! Keep Mariah and Keith, tell Nikki to knock off the stupid baby talking and inappropriate behaviour, and get rid of Randy once and for all and you might have a decent cast of judges.
I do too but I'm used to being in the minority

"...wut you talkin' 'bout dawg, you not feelin' me....?"

Nikki drives me crazy when she rolls her eyes and makes faces when Keith is talking to the contestants. It is so disrespectful.
But she looks good doing so.![]()
