The judges can't say anything bad about Jessica since they saved her last week. I, too, thought that she screamed the song - and wasn't on key or as Randy says pitchy. But have you noticed how many other singers they are praised. How can they say America gets it wrong, when they like the other performances too?

Good night overall. My take:

Hollie - I really like this. The judges finally are giving her good reviews.

Colton - Not my favorite, the low part was just weird.

Elise - I was just OK with her performance. I think the wind machine was too strong.

Phillip - Great job again. He even made me like Usher.

Jessica - Overdone.

Skylar - That was so-so. It was probably my favorite performance by her.

Joshua - I like Joshua when he sings quietly like in the beginning but he loses me when he gets shouty.

Round 2

Hollie - *Not as strong as her first song but she finished well.

Colton - His voice sounds good but I don't like how he changed the song.

Elise - Good song for her voice.

Phillip - Perfect, best of the night.

Jessica - She totally missed the note on 'tenderness'. I couldn't dislike this more. Way off key.

Skylar - I liked this. I take back my earlier statement, this was my favorite Skylar performance.

Joshua - Great job, that is the way that song needs to be sung.

My favorites were Phillip, Joshua and Hollie. I hope Jessica goes home.

I said the same thing to my DH very early in tonight's show! I said, "Either somebody told the judges something, or they did some reading." They are being waaay too nice to Hollie tonight! I think they realized that America doesn't like a bully!

No way they didn't read or hear about all the remarks on social media... they survive off of it now.

I haven't seen so many people for or against since the girl with the nekkid pictures, Antonella! She didn't last long, though.

Jessica truly didn't bring it tonight. She needed to knock it out of the park and she came in behind her nemesis, Hollie. Hollie should sleep good tonight, she truly shoved it in the judges face!!

Unfortunately I think Elise was worse. Colton kind of phoned it in, too, but he has a solid fanbase. Elise's goes on and off.

Hogwash at the top of the show. Enough with poor Jessica's fake elimination.

HOLLIE: "Rollin' In The Deep"...Somebody please ban this song from all future talent shows. I;m so over it! That said, I actually like this song on her. She seems to have found a happy spot performance wise. Well done!


COLTON: "Bad Romance"...I've seen some very unique and cool arrangements of this song. This does kinda rock! Has a very Muse sound to it. He worked every inch of that song!


ELISE: "No One"...this is a bit of a bring down after Colton's rock-fest, but it's nice enough.


PHILLIP: "You Got It Bad"...an interesting choice for him. I know it makes me a cougar but I wouldn't mind having this kid serenading me. This is a very sexy rendition. Again, he isn't the best singer but he really feels his music.


JESSICA: "I Keep On Falling"...no surprise with this choice. B-O-R-I-N-G. Yes, we know you can do runs. Big whoop.


SKYLER: "Born This Way"...so now we're country-frying everything. Gotcha. It was cute. I'll give her that. Not my thing, but a'ight dawg.


JOSHUA: "Believe"...sooooo cliche. Was this Fantasia's winning song? Meh.

HOLLIE: "Son of A Preacher Man"...I can see up her dress as she walked down the steps. Classy. I didn't believe her singing this but vocally it was ok.


COLTON: "September"...Hmmm, he's making it pop. Interesting. Not a great vocal but I like the arrangement. This guy is going to make a LOT of money off of the teen set someday.


ELISE: "Let's get It On"...She has failed to make this song relevant. It's not bad, but it's not going to connect with viewers.


PHILLIP: "Midnight Hour"...Nice to see him without the guitar. This is fun, but safe. He could've chosen better. It's got a monotone quality to the vocal.


JESSICA: "Try A Little Tenderness"...she's got more runs than a Guadalajara out house.


SKYLER: "Heard It Through The Grapevine"...at least she's doing something to make the song relevant. Energetic. Interesting. Fun. Unique. Well done.


JOSHUA: "A Change Is Gonna Come"...I love this song, but I have a feeling Josh isn't going to do anything new with it. And he didn't. Meh.



I voted for everyone BUT Jessica tonight. It's a protest. Jessica wasn't the weakest tonight but I want her gone anyway.

I thought about that but was too lazy. Plus, I didn't want to risk giving votes to someone else and getting Phillip kicked off. I don't think he'll win, but I want him in the contest a little longer.

Did not like Elise doing Marvin.

I did not care for it either. That is one song that is best left to Marvin. It's a "you can't touch it compared to him" song.

I told DH that the song is a very seductive one and said, "When Marvin Gaye sang that song, women all across America would toss off their panties en masse. THAT is the effect he had." Elise didn't make anyone want to scramble out of their undies tonight.

Then Skylar massacred another Marvin song. ACK! Yeah, I know others did it, but Marvin set the bar.

I think Jessica was channeling Louis Armstrong on that last song.
