The First Cut...JAMES. It wasn't his best night but I really hope he stays. He's more interesting than any of the other contestants...UGH, not the splitting them into groups garbage again! LAUREN gets sent to start another group.


J-Lo sings again...more fast forwarding by yours truly.


What?? they let her sing twice??


The Second Cut...JACOB gets sent to stand (with I presume will be the losers group), alongside Lauren. uh oh...doesn't bode well for Lauren. HALEY gets sent to stand next tooooo James...dangit. Guess she's safe. And as for Mr. SCOTTY, well I think we can all assume he's safe as the odd man out?...Naturally.

So which group is the real bottom two? And let's not start the whole "choose the bottom group" crap. That is so unfair. I think we all knew that Haley and James were safe.


Oh dear...poor Lauren. Please let her be safe. it would be a tragedy of Daughtry proportions for her to be booted before Jacob or Haley.


And so the final word on who's leaving?..........it's JACOB. Whew. i think this perfectly denotes how stressful this show is on someone as young and insecure as Lauren. She really was tore up about being so close to going home.

Next week America, it better be Haley.

I just got home in time to see the end result.


I had a bad night. The 25 year old son of good friend died on Sunday and tonight was his wake. I kinda thought that was bit more important than Idol. That's why Scotty's 2nd song made me so weepy last night.

I'm sorry for your loss, pretty tough to handle. In a way, I'm kinda glad Scotty had a song that may have helped the grief a little bit. Prayers for your friend .

So I was out of commission since Monday...had to travel to Sarasota to pack up DD from school and got home late last night. Since she does not have a tv, and had her laptop for classes that she was still attending, I didn't see any Idol stuff, but caught the very end of the elimination show tonight. I read everyones posts of how great Haley did, and I have to say I was more than surprised so I youtubed her. I guess maybe it was one of her better performances( not that that says much), but I still don't get her and yeah, she can see the back side of the stage door soon, like next week soon.
Poor Lauren, that girl is gonna crack soon. Jacob knew it was him once it was those 2.

I have to say something. I keep seeing posts about how everyone is hating on Haley. I don't think everyone hates her, I just think some people, including me, do not like her voice. Maybe I haven't read all the posts, but everytime I am here I don't see any hate going on, I just see people voicing their opinions that they don't like her music. But then randomly people post that they don't understand the hate Everyone has differences of opinions.

Ok. I don't know why I just really wanted to say that...

Back to tonight, with the first song, was it just me or did Scotty not have a country accent with it? It didn't even sound like him!

I'm probably the one you are talking about! Of course, everyone has their favorites and ones they don't like. And not liking someone's singing is fine! I have no beef with that. I didn't like everyone's singing, either. But with Haley, I have seen it taken much further than not liking her singing. I actually looked back a good ways to see if maybe I had overblown it or if it was really that bad. I would say that there are maybe 2 or 3 people who have been the nastiest. There have been some ugly comments about her hair, her makeup, and her clothing (and when I say ugly I mean they insinuate that she has a tawdry side, if that's the right word LOL.) People have ridiculed her for how she walks around the stage and believe it or not for how she got off the piano! And I just can't understand why some people think she has a rotten attitude. someone said she was smiling when Jacob got voted off and some other comment. Haley is just the way Ryan described her last night - very laid back. She certainly never showed a bad attitude every time she was in the bottom 3. It was more like, "Oh well, here we go again!" Nothing like what we saw in poor Lauren tonight. So I didn't expect her to be in tears over Jacob leaving, but I don't think she counted him as her latest victim to step over. I just don't see her like that. Some people have said they haven't liked Haley since Day 1, and they are hanging on to that with everything they can throw at her.

As a 50+ mother of 2 kids about her age, I just find it unnecessary to make comments about young kids like that. Fine, say you don't like their singing, but don't stoop to making nasty comments about their looks or inventing motives and attitudes that we have no proof of.

And Haley must not be as horrible a singer as some people think. If all 3 judges, Jimmy Iovine, and the guest advisors think she has great talent, then I don't think they are all wrong.

I'm all for differences of opinion! I'm just all against brutal and unwarranted knocks on young kids.

OK, so my impression is that the rest of the kids felt bad for Jacob. Haley had this big smile on her face, like "one more body for me to step on on my way to WINNING!". I still don't like her, never will.

Well, I didn't get that vibe. She also had a smile when Casey was voted off..didn't read anything into that either.

Good points. I do not like Haley's voice..the fake/forced growly thing she constantly does and the slurring of words just annoys me to no end. I am one that has not liked her since the beginning. I try very hard not to comment on looks or other things. The way I see it is I don't know them personally so I can never really hate the person...but I can dislike the voice. And if I don't like the voice I either mute or turn down the sound.

I will say something about a bad hairdo or bad outfit. I did comment once on her clothes being inappropriate but that was because for some reason I thought she was still in highschool. . And, the one thing that was bad was her slide off the piano..not the smoothest move ever.

So very glad Jacob is finally gone!! I think he should have been gone weeks ago. I'm so tired of hearing his caterwaulling, and I hate how he compares himself to Luther Vandross. He can't hold a candle to Luther. And I think Jimmy was so right when he gave Jacob a 6!!

I felt so sorry for Lauren. If she's in tears just being in the bottom two, what's it going to be like for her when she actually does get voted out? I honestly don't think she'll win, so it's going to happen soon.

Didn't you hear Ryan say that we'd be surprised at the results? Made my heart stop, because it should have been Jacob, but stranger things have happened. And in the past he's said results will be shocking and they were. So when he sent Scotty over to the other group, and knowing it was so obvious that Jacob should go, that could only mean that the shocking thing was that Lauren would go home. That's when she started crying.

I'm guessing that was playing into her emotions. Certainly, she is young and the process is excruciating, but I think that was tougher than usual.

And I'm glad she stayed.

ITA! I was too! I felt the same way!!!!

I LOVE her and vote for her every week and IMHO, she is BY far the best singer on the show. I don't care if she's emotional or young, she is the best singer so I'll keep on voting for her till she WINS or is gone.

SHe will without a doubt have an amazing career. She is such a natual talent.

I pray that next week it isn't her. I'd much rather it be Scotty or James.

I am hoping for 2 girls at the end!!
