So, how many James haters missed him tonight? He was always my bright spot. I voted for Haley nonstop, my second choice, but like James, Paul, and Casey...she gets it. You Oughta Know was, probably, the kiss of death...pretty raunchy, especially for AI.

How in the world did 3 professionals agree on that song choice for Haley? I can see one of them mistakingly thinking it was a good choice, but then I would expect the other 2 to set them straight. Honestly, it floors me that they came up with that choice. I think the contestants should have some say-so in the song. Let the judges come up with 3 or 4 for them to choose from.

I must confess... I just voted for Haley until the lines closed. The thoughts of Hee-Haw Idol next week make me shiver! At least Haley sings songs I like.

well some on here keep saying Haley doesn't have an attitude, that it is backbone, so perhaps Jimmie felt she should put her money where her *backbone* is. I agree that Idol is not the venue to sing that song, the lyric changes that they made were goofy. I think their choice for Lauren was awful too...while she is country, no need to go with that depressing of a song, especially when they are supposed to be in the zone. The whole show is just blah these days.

I don't have anything against Scotty or Lauren, but that duo moving on will cause the most boring finale ever on Idol...and this is coming from a fan of country music.

Dial idol has Haley and Lauren in a dead heat, and Haley has a huge lead over both in raw votes . Online polls have Lauren going home, but they had her leaving last week too.

We'll see, how it shakes out tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure judges pick was the last song. I recall her talking with Jimmie about Rhianna. Now I'm confused.

I didn't hear Haley's last song so I won't make one comment on her singing it..but really did the judges think that was a good song for ANYONE to sing on Idol. I knew some of the words were a bit , but I googled the lyrics and really just the whole topic of the song was leaving me as to why they chose it.

Same with their pick for Scotty, did they not listen to the words and realize the song needs to be sung by someone older who has lived a little and is not living his dream?

the country kids will be splitting the vote, and all the Haley controversy will keep her in.Just a matter of it is Scotty or Lauren to go, It is all up to who the show wants anyways. My guess is they cut Lauren as a Scotty /Haley finale is less boring than Lauren/ Haley. They want the tweenage girls still watching.

Jimmy's choices were the second batch of songs -- which included Rhiannon for Haley. The three judges chose the third group of songs including You Oughtta Know.

I have no real idea. Usually they sing with some famous people, maybe redo a favorite song from the past. They will bring back the ones that were sent home too. This is how past seasons went. Don't know if they changed it up this year.

What is the Haley controversy? I know what happened last week, but I think that's over and done with. I doubt if that one incident will keep her in. Her voice, on the other hand, is what I hope will keep her in!

I just went a did a quick youtube search of tonights songs. RY is right. 1st songs were their own choice, 2nd set was jimmies, 3d was judges pick.

So yeah, 3 of them said that was a good choice.

Jimmie gave her an unbelievably depressing song to sing, that's what. Honestly, was that the best he could come up with for a 16 year old?

And yet she sung it with a smile. That's the thing I like least about Lauren, she just doesn't get the meaning of the songs. Immaturity, I guess...

I agree the country kids will split the country vote, and I believe James' votes will go to Haley. Brilliant choice for her to sing Led Zeppelin, further locking in the votes of the rock fans who were voting for James!!!
