American Idol: Season 10 PART III

I know I said I was out when Paul went home but sending James home is beyond unthinkable to me!

I did keep watching only for James, loved him. I voted for him every week, and alas this week, I got busy after the show ended and before I knew it the 2 hours were up and I forgot to get my votes in

I have absolutely no interest in watching any more of this train wreck.
I don't think the judges did anything useful this season,
they criticized where they shouldn't have and blew pixie dust when they should not have.
it was all very very odd.

it seems more like country idol now aside from Haley. and I did like Haley in the beginning. but for some reason her personality never quite did anything for me, kind of a spoiled brat persona is what I got from her.
she may not be, she may be the nicest sweetest girl, but for me she made no personality connection with the fans.

so yes, like the diva wannabe that I am, I am done with Idol, going out in a huff. LOL

Yes! I have so much more respect for musicians who can actually play, write and collaborate. Which is why I always take AI with a grain of salt. I've seen so many winners and former contestants who fail when they have to sing garbage music that other people write for them.
Did you see any ads for Kara's new show? Sounds like it's going to be something like that, but I don't think it's on regular network TV. I have to check it out.

I agree, but....not much left to commentary on is there? All the life has been sucked from this show, little by little, week by week.

Paul and James were my two favorites and there is nothing left to hold my interest. The judges were an absolute joke this year. I'm so mad I missed so many good shows while I was wasting my time watching Idol this year

I agree with you. I am not going to waste my time on the country cousins (I do like Scotty but his act is getting old fast) and Growling Girl.

I can totally see Scotty leaving next week setting up an all girl finale. It seems like that is what producers are pushing for.

My brother and I were just talking about this show the other day and how much we liked it. For the most part (although this might just be selective thinking), everyone seemed to be pretty good on it. I still have a couple of live songs from a couple artists on my iPod.

I'm avoiding it for now on since it seems reasonable discussion has turned nasty. I don't like certain contestants and could mean if I wanted to, but I choose not to because it's just uncool.

ITA ... I can't believe I actually missed "The Big Bang Theory" to watch AI on Thursday nights ... what a waste of time for sure ...

Anyhoo, here's what I'm thinking ... I think that Haley will definitely make it to the Finale (boo) because country music fans will now be forced to probably split their votes between Lauren & Scotty, thus leaving all the non-country music fans casting all their votes for Haley ... however, I think it will be a tight race between Lauren & Scotty vying for the second spot ... I think Lauren will get the majority of the older demographic votes, while Scotty will get the younger (i.e. tween/teenage girls) demographic votes - which may just push him ahead of Lauren ... therefore, resulting in a Haley vs. Scotty Finale, a.k.a. yawn-fest...

Whoever does end up winning the American Idol title this year - Haley, Lauren or Scotty - in the end, I predict they will become a one hit wonder and end up on a future installment of "Where Are They Now" ... but it's all just my opinion ...

this show is a joke....and I think AI is well over for me. No way should James have gone home....Scotty can only do country and he'll have a career I'm sure. Haley is a B and needs to be put in her place. I hope Lauren makes it.

I think this season was awesome and exciting. I hated the year with Lee and Crystal. Boring!! But I watched. Didn't vote once.

This year, I love the variety, and the talent. I vote every week (for Lauren).

I LOVE the final three and I was SO excited last night when Lauren was first to be put in the top 3!!

I was then very excited to see Haley in the top 3 too. She's grown on me. Hubby's always loved her, not me so much. Now I love her too. He has bought all her songs and let me tell you the studio version of "Rollin", "House of the Rising Sun" and "I who Have Nothing" was amazing. She may not be your cup of tea, but that girl can sing and I think she's going to be huge whether she wins or not.

I, for one, am glad James is gone. I never liked him and I was shocked he made it to the top 13.

I was shocked by Pia leaving but it happens every year. Folks thought she was safe and didn't vote but she was kind of boring.

Scotty is cute and good BUT he's a dime a dozen IMHO. He could win though. We'll see.

I'm rooting for Lauren. I've loved her since the start. Voted week after week. I think she's just amazing and sweet and cute and pretty etc...

This is the first time in a long time that I'm really excited about the finale. Actually, I don't remember when I was more excited...probably Clay/Rueben (so disappointed though) and Carrie and ??, and Kelly and Justin. That's it.

Can't wait for the finale!!

Not sarcastic at all. I think Haley has the best voice of the bunch. Don't think she'll win or be the most successful but still appreciate her talent.
