I'm not a fan of the new format. I liked getting to hear more from them before the top 12 was set. Voting 2 off per week gave us more time to really see who we liked. David Cook wasn't even on my radar until he sang "Hello", and that sure wasn't week one. I hate to think of what we might be missing.

I immediately saw the Alfred E. Newman connection. Had not thought of George W. but I can see that too. Scotty does seem like a nice kid. You just know that someone in Nashville is waiting to record him.

I feel that we're missing out on a lot of crap. I think by cutting it down to 13 so quickly, we'll now have an extra week to get to know the winner better.

On the top 13, I thought America picked an AWESOME top 10 but then the judges messed it up. Oh well, I am sure the 3 judges picks will go first since America did not vote for them the first time!

I was thinking the same thing! Hopefully because I don't get Naima at all and am not a fan of Baby Beyonce.

I think Stefano has limited appeal but I do like him.

I was all for thinking the girls this year were pretty awesome, but that was when Lauren T and Kendra were in the running.

Frankly Kendra should be in Haley's slot and Karen should be replaced with Naima. THEN I could get them throwing Lauren T and Ashton in as wild cards.

The guys are one hundred percent correct, I honestly can't think of any other guy I would have liked in that group aside from Robbie. I wasn't sold on Stephano until that last song he did. He was pretty great, and he's good looking which I think will appeal to a lot of the ladies.

BUT my hands down favorites of this whole year are Casey, Paul and Kendra. So with Kendra out(ugh, super disappointed by this) I think I'm squarely voting for Casey and Paul this year. Only way I'll be swayed is if Naima or Pia do something that really move me. I still haven't forgiven Pia for doing a Pretenders song, sorry but she's no Chrissie Hynde.

As for Paul's suit, it's pretty awesome and one of the first things my husband pointed out was that his idol Gram parson had one like it. And for those who don't get Paul, check out his band The Grand Magnolias. To me that's honestly the best showing by an idol contestant pre-show fame. The music is right up my alley.

i also think that the Wild Cards are throw-aways, basically. will anyone really vote for them? maybe for a little while, but i don't think they have a shot of winning. and i liked Stefano. but will i vote for him? no.

it was different the year with Clay Aiken because his first group had Ruben, Kimberly Locke and Clay (and we had to chose two to move on). i think it was a tight race between the three of them. the other groups that year weren't as strong. so, the wild card allowed Clay to get back into the competition.

the way they did it this year--America was pretty clear which ones they picked. i mean, we got to pick five out of 12. we didn't have to pick two out of ten, then again for however many more weeks.

Do not agree with that statement.

There are plenty of people out there who are happy to see those three people voted in and irritated by a couple who were actually voted in. In fact quite a few entertainment sites are questioning how Haley and Karen got in and Kendra & Naima didn't(initially for Naima). Sometimes the general voting public get swayed by a reason, for instance Karen appeals strongly to the latin community(see many of her comments for one).

As you see in other years, sometimes a wild card goes further then those who were actually voted in. And in this case, I think that Stefano will go a lot further then Durbin, Haley, & Karen.
