This is how I know I'm an adult....I'm excited about getting blinds installed!!

I called the blinds place to set up installation for the day we move into the house. WOOHOO! Blinds! I don't have to worry about people looking in my house. :)

I am old.

Did you ever see that TLC commercial about life lessons? One was making sure to put up blinds when you move into a new home. You saw an old guy yelling to his wife that "it's starting again!" You see out the window they are watching the neighbors making out across the street.

Cook is hilarious. The joke is dumb but it's funny how he says it.:rotfl:

I think one of the reasons it really makes me laugh because that stupid joke is one we always used to tell him high school. We'd do the little arm movement with it and everything. So seeing Cook do it just cracked me up.

What that joke ever "popular" where all of you live?

Never had to experience an earthquake while living in CA...so that was nice.
Experienced lots of tornadoes (well...sitting in the basement or in the school library during them.) Still hate them. It'll be a little better once we're in our house with our basement.

We've been in S. CA for 5 1/2 years and we lived in N. CA for about 2. I've probably been in a dozen earthquakes that were big enough to feel. The biggest was a 4.7 centered about 8 miles from me. I used to be TERRIFIED of them and I thought anyone who lived in CA was insane! :lmao: Now I think the little ones are kind of fun. I'm still nervous about The Big One but at least our house is new so would probably withstand a fair amount of shaking. But they DO just come out of nowhere.

Tornados you usually have some warning. I grew up in MN and have been through many a tornado warning. They are not exactly "fun" -- but we had basements so I never felt unsafe.

Our football team is the Tampa Bay Bucs, all pirate jokes are big in this area. pirate:

How much does a pirate pay to have his ears pierced? A buck an ear. (buccaneer)

What is a pirates favorite subject in school? Arrrrt! or Arrrrithmetic.

I always liked a good earthquake. I remember the Northridge quake. I lived on a hill and we could see power transformers exploding all over the place. It was a scary one. Even though I don't live in California anymore I still make sure that things I put on shelves won't fall if there's an earthquake. I'm strange like that.

I know what you mean...when I first got my house, I was excited about my blinds, too. Among other things.

I don't remember that one.

But these were two of my favorites...

I never heard the rated "ARRGGHH" joke before I watched that video. :confused3

I'm excited about every litle thing with the house...haha.

Maybe the pirate joke was only big in the midwest? Haha. I think someone actually told that joke on my brother's wedding video (from back in 2002.)

I've had this signature for a couple weeks now. It's time for a new one but I can't decide what to do. Hmm.....
