My daughter still LOVES her AG dolls and she is 15 now. No she doesn't play with them any longer but they still sit proudly on a shelf in her room, still in perfect condition, thankfully.
I have two neices who are really into them right now and they are both in the third grade, both just recently turned 8 . AG "gear" is all that is on their christmas lists this year. Also, I have one 3 yo neice that LOVES her itty bitty baby and treats it incredibly well but I think its because her older sister treats her Molly so well and the little one goes right along with anything the older sister is doing.
I don't know what it is about the AG dolls but I have never seen a little girl mistreat one, I am sure they do, it is just when I see young ladies with them they are always so proud of them and thus treat the dolls well. I really think that young ladies know the dolls are special, I think the catalog lets them know even before they get the doll that they are not just any doll.
I also read all the stories that went along with them when my daughter first got them and they are wonderful little books. Great books for a young reader, imo.
Enjoy Christmas!
