/American Girl on QVC - 9/11 from 4-6 pm EST

I'm thinking the $162 is it, would they really lower it just by $10 during the show?

Ugh...I would like to save another $10 but really is it worth loosing the extras for $10?

How much use would a 10 yr old get out of the wagon, though...honestly...someone?

I just called about it again. They said it is $162.94. That lady must have been wrong.

That's what I thought. She'll play wtih the babies, that I don't doubt. But I just dn't think the wagon would work for her, other then to sit them in her room maybe.

I think I'll just look for a free shipping code and order just the babies through AG. And maybe luck into some clothes somewhere else...or make them myself.

My almost 5 year old doesn't even love the bittys and wouldn't use the wagon. She loves waldorf dolls and the bigger AG dolls.

Santa is using Easy Pay to bring Julie and her bike this year!

I *NEED* those bittys!

However, my mom is paying the $100 and I'd have to cover the rest, thing is we told her it'd be a littler Christmas since we're doing WDW in November, she was okay with that.

I can't make up my mind!!:confused3

She's 10 will she even really be able to play with the wagon? I'm thinking only to sit them in for display maybe.

I like the lwoer price during the show BUT I don't know if I'll be home to order during the show, I have a few things I have to go out and do today. :headache:

I think I'll add it to my cart for now then think on it a while then IF I'm home later I'll snatch it at the lower show price (hopefully) if I miss it she'll just have to settle for the babies that are $95 in the book.

i'm sorry, i'm just being nosy, but is there a reason your 10 year old wants the bitty babies? they are normally recommended for much younger girls. my DD started collecting american girl dolls at age 10, and all of hers are from the historical collection (kit, ruthie, julie, ivy, samantha, nellie, kirsten and molly). these dolls are recommended for girls age 8 and over. you might get more useful items in a collection with a historical doll, since your DD wouldn't really be able to use the wagon. they usually come with an accessory set and book, and if you buy from QVC, there is normally an extra outfit included. whatever you decide to buy, i'm sure your DD will love it! DD will be 13 in wednesday, and still loves her dolls very much, although she doesn't really play with them anymore.

I have finally caved and bought Lanie. I wasn't going to get my DD another doll for Christmas because my MIL is already getting her Felicity and we are going next week to the NYC store to get her My American Girl for her birthday but I couldn't resist. I put it this way to my dh, I'd rather spend money on something that she really loves and plays with than get her a bunch of crap for Christmas which she won't play with after the first few days.

I ended up ordering Lanie when they said she was almost sold out. Since I did it online, would the website have stopped me from ordering it if it was sold out?

Obviously I'm going to be putting her away for awhile, but I think I'm going to make a tradition to get a new doll for DD each Christmas...probably the girl of the year.

You should be ok. I have had the website stop me from ordering when items sold out before I completed checkout.

I canceled Lanie this morning after placing an order last night. My Dd decided she didn't want her, so I was glad to cancel it before it was too late. Kids.:headache: Anywho...

I ordered Felicity today from AG. My DD8 asked for her for Christmas from Santa. :scared1: I told her Santa needs the heads up on AG early since they are retiring Felicity. Santa is limited too ;)

I bought all of Elizabeth's clothes and the Felicity movie and 3 books. I've spent over $200 at AG on one kid, but she gets some of the books and clothes over the next year. I had to get them now before they sell out. She really wanted to complete the Elizabeth collection with Felicity.

for those that missed out, I just ordered Lanie on QVC website....must be people canceling....FYI

You are bad, bad people! I was determined "not gonna do it, not gonna do it" then DD said the ONLY doll she wants is Julie! "Because she's into peace and all that".
Sooooo, this makes doll #6. I justify it by saying it's easy pay!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao: I can do that right?:rotfl::rotfl:
This is probably all she is getting for Chaunukah. Hope she likes it!

She loves real life little babies and I think that is part of it. she wants little babies to take care of....like there aren't several in our family  (My husband has a 4 month old sister (adopted a new baby), and we have a 10 month old & 26 month old nephew that she loves to help take care of). I also think it's teh twin aspect, seh wants 'two'!
She does have Julie, Lanie, and the just like you dolls already.

Not the OP but maybe she likes to play with baby dolls:confused3. One of my kids liked baby dolls at 10 & I assure you she is perfectly normal.

I agree, I went thru a phase when I was 9 or 10 that I really enjoyed baby dolls. I was never big on Barbies, I always like pretend type of play with fake foods, 18inch dolls, baby dolls, I used to play carnival when I was little and make "stands" and set up all my stuffed animals and me and my friends would try to win them. School was also pretty big too lol :rotfl:

So DD has made her list for Christmas/birthday and it is mostly AG things

Lanie (which I got last night from QVC.com)
My American Girl Doll
Kit's stove and preserves
Kit's Nightie
Molly's Hula Costume
The Baking table
Kit's desk
and Kit's table and chairs....

ugh how in the heck am I going to swing this? Last year she literally went on a shopping spree @ AG b/c everyone asked "what should we give Alanna" and I said money b/c we were taking her to AG store for her birthday for lunch and to get Molly. So we got her Molly and w/ the money from everyone else she saved she got Kit's wash set, kits lunch box, molly's dog, the campfire set, and Kit's birthday dress.
I have such a hard time saying no when it comes to AG b/c the stuff is so stinkin cute and I have flashbacks of my mom saying "No" to Samantha, I wanted her so badly. :rotfl:

My kids used to ask for everything they saw at Christmas time b/c they just thought Santa would bring it if they were good. So, I started making up Santa rules. My favorite is, "Santa won't bring it if Mom and Dad don't agree with it." I also say things like he won't bring you everything you want or ask for your top three b/c you can't have everything .... things like that keep them from going crazy. And they seem to be okay with it. :worship:

My girls circle a lot of stuff in the catalog when we get one. Then I ask them to pick the one thing they can't live without. DD6 came up with the Bakery table/sweets and apron set. DD8 came up with Felicity. Santa is bringing Felicity, but only if she doesn't change her mind because she is limited at Santa's workshop. LOL!
