I know not to muchof a budget place but I am taking my daughter and would like to know what to expect?

Can we just buy the dol and an outfit and do lunch?

Is there better options near by for lunch not cheaper but better food?

They may have good food just not knowing anything about the place is driving me crazy.
Is it an hour walk through or a few hours to see things?

The restaurant is pretty pricey IMO. Around $17 for adults and children 4 and up. The food actually was not too bad. You can get ice cream there as well. 2 floors of dolls, clothes and accessories including a hair salon and doll ear piercing.

The store is at the Natick Mall. You have to go outside the AG store and enter the Mall; there is no direct access. There are several restaurants and a Food Court inside the Mall as well as a Cheesecake Factory next to the AG store.

Have fun!

My daughter loves the Natick AG store... my wallet, not so much!
It takes us about an hour or two to see everything and to decide on purchases. We do spend quite a lot there each trip, and I find it advantageous to schedule a personal shopper ahead of time. I'm not sure when you are planning on going, but the new purchases-with-purchase is an adorable polar bear sweater and furry headband.
Sometimes we eat at the bistro upstairs and other-times we go to the Cheesecake Factory. If you've never been, the bistro is a fun time, but we go more for the experience than the food. Reservations are strongly suggested if you plan on dinning at the bistro (weekend reservations have been known to fill up weeks ahead of time during the holiday season).

Have fun! There is something so wonderful about our daughters playing with dolls for as long as possible... they grow up so fast!

My MIL already made dining reservations for the Bistro for over Christmas vacation week and the person on the phone said that week was booking fast! We have also never been, but plan on visiting in the next few weeks just to shop. DD just had a birthday and all she wanted was Rebecca. My MIL wanted to take her to eat, so we'll be going back for lunch at Christmas time. For the pp who suggested the personal shopper - do you reccommend this even if I don't plan on spending a ton of money? I'm thinking DD will pick out her doll, maybe get the ears pierced and then maybe one outfit. This is for her birthday and with Christmas so close I don't want to go crazy!

If you already have a game plan of what you are interested in, then you may not really need a personal shopper.

We always go in with a list a mile long that my DD7 has made, and the personal shoppers have all been great at helping her pair down the list, and showing her options that she may not have thought of. They hold our pile of boxes until we are ready, and it gives us a great hands free shopping experience.

It doesn't matter how much you spend at all, but I don't think I'd make an appointment if I was just going in for a few things and to look around for the first time. A personal shopper would never rush you, but I do feel like their time is valuable. If you do find yourself like me and your stack of items grows the longer you are in the store, certainly ask and someone will gladly help you out. They are all so wonderfully friendly at the Natick store.

Take your time and enjoy the experience!

Thanks all for the info.

May I ask what this means?

"the new purchases-with-purchase is an adorable polar bear sweater and furry headband."

If you spend $50 or more, you can purchase (a purchase with purchase) an in-store exclusive item.
This season, it is a red sweater with a polar bear on the front and an accompanying headband. The set is $14 and can only be purchased with a total purchase of $50 or more at any of the American Girl stores.

I knew if I asked you all would be a wealth of knowledge!

How is the ride I am driving from Rhode Island?

Is cheese cake factory better then ag eatery?

The bistro was cute, but we did not like our food. We decided next time we would get lunch at Cheesecake and dessert at the bistro counter.

Make sure you allow enough time to find a parking space if you will be there during the busy holiday times. I think I spent 45 minutes one time last season driving around to find a spot just to pick up a gift card.

If you've never been to an AG Store, then I would say at least get dessert at the Bistro. My daughter was 4 at the time and absolutely loved it! Lunch for the 4 of us was close to if not over $100.00 but it was such a wonderful memory that it was worth it. Our good friends from Canada were with us!

I second the personal shopper if you are making any large purchases. We even had help carrying our bags out to our car! We still laugh about it as we felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she "had to go shopping".

Have fun! I'm considering a trip but I know it won't be budget friendly!

My first post here I think and not even Disney related. But, I know lots about AG!

We have been a few times to the Natick store and my personal feeling is that it's better to spend the extra money on the dolls and clothes and skip the crazy food. My girls don't even like the food and it wasn't that great for the adults. Cheesecake Factory is YUMMY - but can add up fast too.

I would say an hour or two is good for the store. Grab a bag and then put anything you may want into it - especially if it has a low stock. At the end have a seat in a corner or on a bench and sort through based on your budget you've set. I may have missed your daughters age but even my youngest has an idea of what her "budget" is which saves on in store upsets.

Have fun!

My daughter is 10 and the budget is her xmas gift is the doll she wants.

She will be able to get one outfit and I think that's it.

It is very expensive so we will not be going to crazy.

Plus lunch.

As some one who goes to that store monthly it's not cheap but well worth it. We enjoy the bistro food is good the pretzel bread is to die for yum. It depends what kind of dinning experience you want. If u are going o buy a doll make sure to ut it before u st they will take her out of the box for u and that way ur daughter can have the doll eat with you guys. The outfits range in price from about 20$-40 depending on why comes with it. They have some accessories tt are a few dollars cute tees glasses ect.
I love the cheesecake factory too but the experience at the bistro is great. We an easily spend a hour there just looking around.
If you have time take a trip through the mall too there are some great stores in there if u want a great dessert go to red mango it's all fresh frozen yogurt with fresh fruit toppings soooo good :thumbsup2
