I was speaking with a woman last week who told me that American Girl has special sales on Black Friday. Does anyone know if this is true? What kinds of things are on sale, and are the discounts good?

Last year starting on Black Friday, they would offer daily specials on certain accessories/clothing each day leading up to Christmas. I ordered things 2 different times if I recall....

I asked in natick ma what they did last year for black Friday and she said they opened at their regular time and the only sale was 5$ dvd's

Black Friday not anything special in store (at least not in Mpls; we were there a couple years ago) or online. Cyber Monday- yes, lots of sales and deals (online only) there. If you're getting a doll though, get it now witht he free shipping. Those do not go on sale.

Thanks that was my dilemna! My daughter doesn't have one and I was trying to decide what to do. If I do get her one I wasn't sure if I should do it now with the free shipping or wait for black Friday/cyber Monday. I will try to decide before the free shipping is over, thanks!

Just bit the bullet with the free shipping on a Molly doll. I cannot believe what I just what I just paid for a doll. I swear, this doll better be amazing and DD better play with her or she will get coal next year

DD got those last Christmas and they are WONDERFUL!! The armoire holds sooo much and the vanity is cute. It is a really well made piece of furniture. The chair is adorable but be aware the dolls slide out of it easily. We use a hair ribbon to tie them down

Yes, but...but, but....I hate to sound like the AG advocate here BUT they are extremely well made. I have yet to see another line rival them, we just ordered DD a Maplelea (Canadian Girl) because it looks JUST like her and I am anxious to see if they compare. These dolls are sooo pretty, soooo well made, and will be an heirloom (two of DD's were mine, once upon a time and many moons ago.) We buy the dolls and the clothes. Some accessories. For furniture such as armoires, salon chairs, bathtubs, etc... do yourself a favor and save a buck by going to Target. Their stuff is really, really nice and a fraction of the cost.

OF COURSE the dvd's will be $5 - I JUST ORDERED three of them at $15 each on Amazon. Still, they may not be that price this year...they might sell out...they might only do that in stores and we won't be anywhere near one....yeah, yeah - I'll hold onto my reciept LOL If I can score them for $15 total then the others will ship right back

Thanks for the information - I can't wait to check out those deals! Hmmm, I am taking next Monday and Tuesday off because we are traveling for Thanksgiving - I wonder what my boss would say if I took off the following Monday because I needed to stay home and shop Cyber Monday specials

We got a bunch of stuff last year on Cyber Monday - online was very very busy, kept timing out. We called in on the phone after an hour or so of trying online and were able to get all the deals! Can't wait to do it again this year.

they are expensive! We bought them only with the free shipping code and also used from friends we knew. One a teacher was selling on ebay years ago. My girls played with them all the time and though they have out grown them now they dress them in the christmas outfits for display at Christmas time. I hope they pass them down to their kids some day if they have a little girl.

One year we had one without a box ( from a friend of ours) so Santa wrote a note that a little girl loved her and the girl grew up. Felicity needed a new home and my little girl was a perfect match for her.

Does anyone recall what kinda deals they had last year for Cyber Monday or Black Friday? Like bundled sets or a few $ off certain things? I just priced out 4 random outfits for about $100 to get free shipping. On CM or BF do you think the deals would be better (with having to pay for shipping)? Such a dilemma: free shippng or wait & see?
