Has anyone got one of these? I was thinking of ordereing one for my DD, she is 21 months. She is doll mad and for Christmas we have bought her baby born and baby Annabel but baby bitty looks just so cute! TIA:)

My daughter has a Bitty Baby and she loves it. Beware. The American Girl catalog is addictive. We are having a "Bitty Baby" Christmas. She is asking Santa for the crib, swing, highchair and countless outfits.

If you decide to buy one, look on Ebay for clothes. They are much cheaper and most are handmade. Good luck!:)

DD (12 next month) got oen for her first birthday. That doll still goes on every vacation with us. "Rosie" has been with Marika through 4 states and another country--6 houses in total (and twice living in a hotel for a 1-3 months), and a host of other transitions and changes. I am constantly amazed at how well she has held up through years and years of "love"

Thanks for the replies, the dolls are adorable and they do look so addictive. I thought we could start with Bitty, then get her a few bigger dolls etc as she grows up!

Bitty Baby IS addictive and so, so cute. We've got 3, plus a set of twins. My girls started getting them at age 3, but didn't do much with the outfits, except ask me to dress them, until 4. I'd stay far, far away from the furniture, especially the crib. We had 2, as well as the changing table and high chair, but had to throw both cribs away finally as they fell apart if any pressure was applied to them. The dolls are well made as is the clothing, even if its way over priced, but the furniture, IMO, is junk for the price you pay.

My dd is 7 and has Bitty Baby plus 2 AG dolls. She still plays with Bitty Baby regularly.

But my kids are 8/10 and we have 3 Bittys. (one I got for 50cents at a sale and was going to sell her.. but no go!) My son's doll (yes, he's 8 and still loves this thing) almost completely fell apart. There was a class that I wanted him to take and he really didn't want to go as he's very shy. I asked him is there was soemthing I could do for him, and he asked me to have Bitty fixed. :) So, she went off to the hospital and got a whole new body.

His did come "pre-loved" from ebay so I suppose it held up for a long time. He kept taking his sister's and was thrilled (at 16mos) to get his own. Guess he's going to be a great daddy some day.

Definitely a loved toy at our house.

Thanks everyone for all the replies, I have spent hours looking at the website! I think I will order it for DD :)

Yes they are addictive;) DD has her original Bitty Baby, then got a doll of the year for her 5th or 6th birthday (Kaylee), ended up with Bitty Twins from Santa the year they came out, Bought herself Jess when that one came out, got Kaya for Christmas the year she was 10 and bought herself Josefina last year:eek:

When we moved to Germany last year we only got 4 suitcases each in which to bring everything (plus carry ons). ALL of DDs American girl dollls made the cut (and so did DS's Brunette Bitty Twins). I think if you look at the cost per hour of play they are very reasonable toys (along with Legos and playmobil):thumbsup2

DD (10) still loves her bitty baby. In fact she has several AG dolls but the bitty baby is still her favorite. She loves to dress her up and wheel her around in the bitty baby stroller.

My DD got bitty baby when she was 8 months old for Christmas from my mom. We love AG and I just posted a question about Bitty Twins :-) We have Bitty Baby, the back pack, stroller, high chair, changing table, crib and swing. The stroller, crib and high chair are her favorites. I think their furniture stands up to abuse. My daughter thinks she is suppose to sit in the crib and high chair. She drags the doll and furniture all around the house and they are still going strong. We have a few outfits and she doesn't really care what they are wearing. I get sick of looking at them in the same outfit really and change them. I say you can't go wrong. My daughter is 2 1/2 and I know she will play with them forever.

How much did it cost for the new body? My dd plays ALOT with her Bitty Baby, Bitty Twins, and Just Like You Doll. All of their bodies are really floppy. I was thinking of taking them in to the doll hospital at AG, but have no idea how much it is. TIA!

According to the website it is $19, plus $6.95 shipping (I assume you could not pay shipping if you take it in:confused3) for a new body for bitty.
It will come back in a hospital gown, etc too.

My 5 yr old got a Bitty baby last year and she loves it.Worth every penny. This year Santa is bringing the Bitty twins and the twin stroller

I got my niece a bitty baby when she was 2 but she really just started playing with her the past year (she just turned 4). "Cathy" goes with her everywhere and will probably be down in Disney in a couple of weeks... It didnt get too addictive until I went to the American Girl Doll store here in October for her birthday! When you see everything so nicely displayed and can feel and see the quality first hand, it is dangerous! Needless to say she had a very AG 4th birthday and will probably be having a very AG Christmas!!

I personally was gifted a Bitty Baby at the age of 3 and still play with it as a teenager. 'Fanny" has benn on countless trips to WDW. She has even been to the dolly hospital 2 times.:thumbsup2 I still love her though.

My mom got a bitty baby for my DD when she was about 1. Also came with a suitcase and extra clothes. Honestly, my DD almost never played with the baby, but loved the suitcase to death. My DD is 10 now, and really almost never played with dolls, but the bitty baby wasn't anything special to her also. My husband is Asian, and my mom got her the "Asian American" one, thinking it was half Asian and half Caucasian. No, it is Asian, which is fine, but my mom thought it would look like my DD (I'm Caucasian). It doesn't look anything like my DD.

I get those darn catalogs in the mail all the time - even since we moved! My DD has never asked for an American Girl doll. She's into other things, like books, sports, and Nintendo.

I guess I'd get one for a child that is into dolls, but not for one that isn't.

My DD's have multiple Bitty Babies.... my 9 year old DD got her first one @ 26 months old. I bought it to have the nurse give to her when she came in to meet her baby sister at the hospital.... so we both left with a new baby :goodvibes She still has it today and has since become addicted to the American Girl dolls.....

My DD got Bitty when she was 3 & is now 9 & Bitty is still her favorite. And she got Nicki when she was 7. And has Felcity & Elizabeth on her christmas list.
