American express $10 Gift Card. Who has gotten them already.

I got mine today too, but does anybody know how to use it? I tried at Target to use it...like a credit card...but it didn't work. What do you have to do?

I had filled out three surveys for our household (me, DH, & adult DS). Only DS's has come. There is a page of instructions that came with the card telling you how to use it. At the gas station, I took it inside and prepaid $10 on my pump with it. They charged the card, had me sign and it worked fine. I think some of the problems people are having is that they are trying to pay for things that are over $10 with the card and then it is coming back as denied. If you tell the cashier to pay $10 on the card first, then you will pay the rest of the total in another way, then it should work. Good Luck!

I think one of the best ways to use this thing (other than prepaying gas) is to use it to buy a $10 gift certificate from the retailer of your choice. Then turn around and spend the gift certificate. This way its exactly a $10 transaction that won't be denied and you use all of the money on the card without leaving spare change. Although it isn't a credit card, the swipey things at the stores think it is, so if you buy more than $10 worth, it'll come back denied. I used mine to get a $10 amazon.com GC and then turned around and applied the GC to my total purchase.

I did one and got it yesterday. It could have easily been thrown away but I knew to look for it thanks to this thread!

I hope I don't have any problems buying Disney Dollars with it at the Disney store.

DH received it today. For those who wonder if they got/didn't get it, the envelope is a regular size business envie. It is a weird color on the front-blue along the right edge (says REQUESTED INFORMATION ENCLOSED in white letters), then is a pale purple color and the color grades to a white on the left side. It has a window showing DH's name under one of those bar code lines in the address section. The return addy is a P.O. Box in Omaha, NE. Back of the envie is white with a blue flap.

Hope everyone gets theirs that should--we do have a business account with AMEX.
