Amenities in a AKL studio

Hi there!

We rented points to stay in a studio villa at Jambo House, and we are planning groceries...will we have a regular coffee maker? If so, what kind of filters do we need?

The fridge will be small, right? Will we have any plates or utensils? A measuring cup for liquids? Is there a list somewhere I can refer to?

Do you happen to know what KIND of coffee maker is in the studios? I called Disney today and did not get very good info on ANYTHING, so I'm not sure I can believe what the lady told me. She said that we would have a single-serving cuisinart coffee maker that uses pods - does that sound right? Would like to know what kind of filters/coffee to bring.

You were given bad information. All DVC villas have Mr. Coffee type machines. All use flat-bottom filters. Once in a while a studio might end up with a 4-cup maker. It should be 10-12 cups. If you get a small one, call housekeeping and request a full-size coffee maker. You will also have an initial starter supply of coffee, usually one packet of regular and one packet of decaf. Each packet makes 4-6 cups. You will get one more on housekeeping (trash & towel or full cleaning) days. Most people bring their own favorite coffee from home. Don't forget the filters.

Thank you so much! Yes, the Dis seems much more reliable than Disney's customer service people, sadly. I also tried to find out which days they offer the culinary tour at Jambo house and that became a 25-minute exercise in frustration. Everyone I got transferred to was convinced it was a tour I needed to make a reservation for, and they never could get me an answer! I asked if we could just contact the front desk at AKL, and they told me it was actually impossible to do so...that there was "no direct line to AKL front desk"!?!
