Knowing that it was likely I would be returning in August (and, wow, first time in a decade that we've gone twice in a calendar year - either Disney has improved or I have mellowed), I reserved a room using the online tool.
Because we were going with guests, I chose not to borrow the points for the extra two days (for my alone time set-up
until they had confirmed their travel plans.
I hesitate to use the online tool because it seems like it causes disarray with separate but linked reservations. Useful for room changes and dining plans (neither of which apply to this trip) but not so much for continuity.
Seems like calling the 1-800 is a better option. The con being I have to remember to do it during business times instead of NOW.
