I don't make true ambrosia. I mix fruit cocktail with sour cream and mini marshmallows.

6 small cans of fruit cocktail (drained)
1 bag mini marshmallows
1 pkg. vanilla pudding (mix it)
1 container cool whip (8 oz)
1/2 jar marachino cherries
mix all ingredients in a large bowl and chill
ENJOY!
