Ambian no longer working HELP!!

Try taking all -i mean all Caffine out of your diet along with white surgar-taking a good mulitvitamin, getting an hour of exercise-you need to sweat. Insomina sucks-but the drugs were worse-these things dont solve the problem but they help some.

I'm just going to throw one out there also. I agree with the cardio workout. It should be a sweaty one, but a real superfast half hour walk counts too. And I don't want to get in trouble here, but IMO, there's nothing wrong with a glass of wine to help you sleep. Oddly enough, I will get bashed for that, but I think it's more natural and healthy than most other drugs.

no bashing from me - i've also heard about the wine before bed as a relaxant - have even tried warm milk and listening to Yanni, while reading a medical book - desperate times, i tell you! - but since reading above about ambien causing cancer - would rather sweat and be sleep-deprived than continue a risk - guess it's buh-bye to my little blue pills

Have you tried a daily cardio workout? I have had horrible insomnia, and finally found that excercise really does help.

I just started exercising regularly again, and I have been sleeping like a rock.

Hope you find something that works for you.

No bashing here on that one - as long as you don't mix it with medications, wine is about the most natural thing you can take to help you sleep!

Since menopause all alcohol gives me difficulty sleeping:confused3 Sad but true....

I actually take Seroquel to help me sleep. I had a car accident several years ago and I still have problems sleeping because of it. Although Seroquel is actually for bipolar disorder and other illnesses, I take it for sleeping purposes only. It really helps me. When I had my ACL reconstruction in January, the doctor prescribed Ambian for me to help me sleep...it actually kept me awake!

Good luck finding something to help you sleep!

Seroquel (Quetiapine) is a fantastic medication for sleep. I'd heartily recommend it.

Try a magnesium an hour or so before bed. It relaxes the muscles. When my body is stressed it works wonders.
