Saw where I can try this for a month free....just wondering if anyone has done this, if its worth the fee and how hard it is to cancel if you don't want it. I do allot of ordering off there, but, most items come with the free super saver shipping.

I'm pretty sure you'd be eligible for Amazon Mom Prime 3 month trial. My youngest is 7 and I was able to sign up. Everytime you spend $25 in eligible purchases in the "baby store" they will extend your trial by 1 month. You don't have to get baby item, I bought flushable (toddler) wipes because we use those anyway. Unfortunately the last time I did it I purchased them the day my trial expired and it was too late, so be sure to give yourself a few days.
Is prime worth it, heck yes if you purchase as much on Amazon as I do it is even without the free trial.

remember, super saver shipping is SUPPOSEDLY slower than with Prime, so yyou should decide if having the items faster is worth it. I also just read where if you sign up for Prime, you get a year's free of video streaming on Amazon's streaming service.

I am a Prime member and LOVE it...I have spent well over the $79 it would of cost to ship everything I've bought standard shipping let alone the free 2day shipping. I have probably saved over $500 in 2day shipping. I actually find myself checking prices on amazon compared to other sites to see if it is cheaper. Usually it is as long as the item is Prime eligible. Most items are. I just bought an LG 47in TV and got it in 2 days! It is already up and we are watching it. I also bought the wall mounts and a new blu ray...we switched our 42in into the kids playroom(on the wall) with our wii & blu ray so they are not occupying our main TV all the time...it is wonderful...sorry OT.

I did the free one month then forgot about it and a few months later I did it again but had to pay but it is well worth it if you do a lot of online shopping and you like to bargain shop! You can't beat 2day shipping and overnight is only $3.99/item...I've used that too(at Christmas time);)

I say go for it a free month doesn't hurt and if you do the mom's prime(that sounds even better...I didn't even know about that) See you learn something new everyday!

I don't think you can get this on a trial, you have to be a paying subscriber to prime.

Also, if you are a Prime member you now get Amazon On-Demand for free if you have a device that supports it.

Amazon prime will change your life! :cool1::lmao: I'm an Amazon Prime evangelic and have converted many of my neighbors. Their lives, too, have been changed.

We've had it for over a year now and I find myself buying any and everything on Amazon with Prime - toothbrushes, 3 hole punch paper, clothes, K-cups, books, christmas gifts, humidfier filters, shoe racks etc...

The difference is that it's free 2 day shipping and when you realize you are out of something you can just go to Amazon and it shows up on your doorstep 2 days later. And you don't need a minimum purchase. You can just buy ONE toothbrush and Amazon gladly ships it to your front door in two days.

I don't think people will ever leave the house again due to the invention of Amazon prime.

(disclaimer: I may have over-exaggerated a bit:rotfl:)

Dh & I love Prime! We order many things from Amazon and love getting the items in 2 days or less!

We now have Prime for FREE as I am a grad. student and signed up with my school email address but before this we gladly paid for the membership we used it enough and it was worth it to us.....But FREE is even better :cool1:

Peace.
Colleen

Any students in the house? They have a student special. I have a free one year Prime membership. It has been wonderful. I never hesitate about buying a $5 or $6 item because there isn't a minimum purchase.

My complaint is that it's two days shipping time, not real time. So if I order diapers Monsay night, they probably won't arrive on Wednesday. So it does take a little planning ahead. A greT deal for those of us who live a long way from a shopping area, especially with those rising gas prices!

I LOVE it! It is easy to cancel in the 1 month free, but if you go to the paid, you are in it for the year once you have placed an order on it.

It is great. Everything comes the next day or in 2 days. I get a fair number of groceries delivered now since I don't have to pay for shipping.

I am a Prime Amazon Convert.

Like the others have said that $79 has been paid for time and time again and you get it in TWO DAYS! That is the best part. Christmas time and even for Birthdays it is a really great tool and saves you so much money in the long run.

Love love love Amazon Prime. I used to be concerned about paying for Two Day Shipping..... to get it "for free" is wonderful! It's a matter of convenience, yes, but one that provides intangible benefits worth more than $79.

And now it basically comes with a streaming video subscription included! We can't use it (because my wife is hearing impaired, and Amazon.com's streaming doesn't support closed captioning), but that's a fringe benefit of Amazon Price for something that folks pay Netflix $90 per year for!

My complaint is that it's two days shipping time, not real time.
That's always the case with Two Day Shipping, everywhere, afaik. I've never seen any retailer promise that something shipped with a shipping service that they call Two Day Shipping will always arrive at your home less than 48 hours from when you submit the order, regardless of what time of day or day of week that you submit the order.

FWIR, that streaming video service is one thing that doesn't come included with the "Mom" version of Prime, but don't quote me on that.

Otherwise, I think the main difference is that you have to share some additional information to qualify for the "Mom" membership, you have to "earn" additional months of free Two Day Shipping with "Mom" membership, and the amount of time you're eligible for Two Day Shipping is limited with "Mom" membership.

This sooooo much! And things that you like that are hard to find where you live? You go to Amazon.

My co-workers even come to me sometimes to buy things for them to ship to their homes!

With AP, you can have 4 people on the account too. So if you have kids or other family members who order for themselves, they can get the shipping (not steaming video) benefits too.
