Hi, had the same problem , went on booksamillion.com ordered through express shipping got in 3 days and a couple of pence cheaper than amazon, no way was i waiting until july ! cancelled amazon as soon as had ordered from booksamillion.

I orderd mine directly from Passporter.com befor publication and had it with in a week of publication. I have gotten both last year's DCL Passporter and this year's as well as the WDW one directly from them with no problem. They are prompt and keep you informed about shipment etc. ;) I would recommend them with out reservation.:sunny:

I also recommend dealing directly with Jennifer and Dave at Passporter.com. You can register your copy and get discounts on future orders.

I use to frequently order various items from amazon and was very happy with them. Within the past year I have become disappointed in them. Items that their web site claims will ship in 24 hours are being delayed (I find out via email) by a few to several weeks.

As for the Passporter, if I decide to order the new one, I will always go with Jennifer and Dave.

I tried to get the deluxe on amazon and barnes and noble, but neither were able to get it - did get the basic version quickly frmo barnes and noble.com

I did the simple thing - went to my local Barnes & Noble and bought it right off the shelf. No problems, no waiting. Sometimes the simplist way is the best.:fish: :fish: :fish:

I just found out that my amazon order for the new passporter was cancelled,,, by them! I guess that good enough reason to not use them any more! I'll buy directly from passporter now!

I emailed Dave @ Passporter due to the same problem. He said that they should have stock and he doesn't know what the problem is. So, I emailed Amazon again and they said they are waiting to receive stock from the publisher???

It's very confusing indeed! Dave says that it could be a wholesaler problem, but then wouldn't he as the publisher know if he's sent Amazon's wholesaler the stock? I emailed Passporter back in Feb. as well, and Dave said that it didn't matter where customers purchased Passporters as all would be treated the same, but that's totally not true since the focus of this thread says otherwise!

Also, it irritates me when I see people posting in a such a way that they imply that this is what we deserve because we didn't order from Passporter directly. I didn't order from them because:

1. I'm Canadian and when I add exchage, shipping & handling, the paperback version is almost as expensive as the deluxe version here in Canada even with the 30% discount! I find Passporter's prices high.

2. Could have had it shipped to a friend in Michigan, but then there is sales tax on top of that, plus my friend still has to bring over border.

3. As well, Overstock doesn't ship to Canada, so I chose (and it is my right to do so!) to purchase from Amazon.

In my opinion it's ridiculous that this edition wasn't published until halfway through '04, and now with shipping probs, who knows when we'll receive it! For me, it's even worse because I ordered this in March for our first cruise which we returned from 2 weeks ago!

A very sad Passporter customer, Tiger

Sound like you have many issues with Passporter, Tiger. Maybe it would be best if you chose a different source for your information. Books aren't always released around a persons particular vacation schedule.

I think that sometimes saving a dollar or two can cost big headaches in the future. Amazon in my opinion has slipped in its customer service big time. They seem to always blame it on the supplier. Maybe they should update their website to reflect that.

Maybe you should just cancel your order. Everyone is certainly free to choose how they want to order.

Just my opinion!

I ordered my PassPorter on 5/10 from Walmart.com. I got it on 5/18. It was $11.94.

Despite the fact that I'm frustrated with Passporter and Amazon for that matter, it doesn't mean that I don't like the product. As an English teacher (with a ton of research expertise), I thoroughly enjoy my WDW Deluxe '04 Passporter in that it is full of great stuff. Jennifer and Dave have put a lot of work into it, and it's a great source of info.

That being said, I still think that the timing of publication, halfway through the year, and well after cruise season is in full swing, leaves something to be desired. This has nothing to do with my personal vacation schedule (as per your comment), but more to do with the fact that since this is a great source of information that people purchase in order to help plan vacations, it should be released at the beginning of the year so that it can accommodate all vacation schedules no matter what the season!

Secondly, again your comment in reference to saving a few dollars is not necessary . As I stated in my original post, we are not talking a few dollars, but a lot of dollars seeing as how I'm Canadian. Again, that shouldn't be relevant anyway, as Passporter Publishing is going to get their money no matter where it is purchased - it's just that when it is purchased directly from them, they get to keep more of that money, which is why I suspect there are problems with the other retailers. If they were serious about everyone getting ahold of the book at the same time, then they would have released the book to all book outlets (retail, online, themselves) on the same day. Also, since I am Canadian, I only have very few options available to me in regards to getting my hands on this book as many of your US retailers won't even ship to us in Canada.

Don't want to start a debate, just want to add my experience as I see others are struggling with the same problems as I am in regards to acquiring this product.
