I got an e-mail from Amazon that my delivery date has been moved up from 12/2 to November 24th! excited to get it, I was watching a review with video from a Tech website last night and it looks pretty cool, can't wait to try it out.

Thanks to this board I saw the post about it and was able to order one before noon the first day Prime Members could preorder @ $19. Thanks DISers.

My delivery date has been moved back to Dec 18th, it was the end of Nov. eek I hope it doesn't get pushed back anymore

Mine still says Dec. 3rd, boo. Hope it gets moved up!

Mine says January and I really wanted it as a Christmas gift. I am hoping mine gets pushed up.

My expected delivery is Dec 22-24. Just in time for Christmas! It was Mid-January when we ordered, so I hope it keeps moving up in time. I will have to go look at the video to see what it actually does.

I am considering ordering this for my oldest son. At one time he was thinking about buying Fire TV but decided against it. I think this could be a good alternative. I'm not really sure about how it works. Can someone give me an explanation? Are movies/TV shows actually saved onto the stick? I know Amazon says it comes attached to your account. Does this mean any shows etc. he has bought would be on it? How about watching movies? How does that work? Thanks for any help :)

scard192 - Thank you for the review. It was helpful. My next question is: Do you have to be a prime member for it to work?

Mine are "shipping now" and should arrive by Friday. One is for me and one will be a stocking stuffer.:cool1:

I just checked because I wasn't expecting it to be shipped until 12/2, but mine says the same thing, shipping now to arrive by Friday. :)

So is this worth having if you aren't a prime member? Basically it turns your TV into a smart TV?

that I don't know the answer to. maybe someone with more tech skills can answer that. There is a lot of info on Amazon about the product. sorry

No, you do not need AmazonPrime to buy or use the stick. However, they were on sale for Prime members for 3 days for $19 a while back. The advantage of having Priime (for the Fire TV stick ONLY) is the access to the Prime movies and Prime music. You can rent movies from Amazon whether or not you are a prime member.

I hooked mine up last night but didn't get to use it much. It looks a lot like the Roku I have in the basement. The big difference is that this streams Prime music. The Roku does not. The only thing I did when I hooked it up was to listen to music while I did homework.
