Amazon - do they usually sit on an order for over a week, before shipping?

Depends on what I order and who from. If it is in an Amazon warehouse, and I order in the middle of the week, I get it in a couple days. But if I order on Friday, or from a third party (ie a "fulfilled by Amazon" order) then it can take about a week factoring in non-business days. It also depends on where it's shipping from. I'm on the East Coast. If something is coming from CA I expect it to take longer than from OH.

I do a lot of shopping online, and shipping times are longer in most places these days. I bet its because of climate change and the natural disasters that are happening because of it.

I saw this thread last week and was thinking I've only ever had this happen when I wasn't using Amazon Prime. With Prime it's always been 2 or 3 days.

However, on Thursday 5/19 we placed an order for an item that said 2 day delivery on the item page. But then the order confirmation email came in it said delivery on Wednesday 5/25. We just checked again to see if it'd changed and nope still expecting 5/25. I have no idea why it happened. It's a first for us!

ETA: I ordered another item on Amazon yesterday (Sunday) and it'll be here tomorrow (Tuesday).

I just placed an order at 1:30 am this morning and got it delivered 6:45 am this morning.
