Ill admit it - Ive never ordered anything from Amazon, let alone something for $300+ bucks.... what about warranties? SHould I just get it at Best BUy and pay more, but get their warranty plan?

Im confused, and this is a lot of money for me to spend... Help!! I dont wanna make the wrong decision.

And what about this Amazon credit card? $30 off.... it's just a credit card? SHould I do that?

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

It is just a normal Visa card. The 10% is a one time discount to entice you to sign up for their Visa card.

Personally, I rarely buy those extended warranties, they're more of a money maker for the stores. And often times your cc will offer purchase protection so that may be worth checking into since it typically doubles the manufactures warranty.

I've bought numerous things from Amazon but I'm not sure if their return policy is less or more strict than Best Buy, you should compare them if you have concerns (I think BB is 14 days and Amazon is 30, not sure how they compare though if the item has been opened).

$300 is definitely a great price for the S3, I paid $425 for mine not even a year ago.

Thanks - I appreciate the repsonses.

I swear I can walk into Target and dump $300 bucks on groceries and "clearance" items, but thinking about something QUALITY and ONE THING for $300 and it makes me all woozy!! AND NERVOUS! :lmao:

Thanks!

I think Im gonna go for it! :thumbsup2

Just be thankful nobody here is trying to talk you into a DSLR...then you'd REALLY be woozy and nervous!! :teeth:

Amazon is a very good internet seller. And very often, no tax, no shipping. The camera itself is great. I have purchased much from them over the years. When you get it, CR, make sure you spend time here on the Photography board, lots of helpful information.

not sure about the s3 but lots of times amazon is a middle man for camera dealers...ie last stuff i bought from them actually came from adorama and ace digital( which i think is also digital foto club due to the packing tape that had a vet. practice on it :) that came on items from ac and dfc)
on the page this morning i didn't look at all 59 dealers but adorama is 314, no shipping so might be worth a few $$ for peace of mind..also make sure you are getting a us model or the place you get it from offers a warranty on imported models

How do I know its a US model???

I was going to buy from this link:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/cu...4?ie=UTF8&sort=quality&index=0&page=5#gallery

Says ships from Amazon.com .... :confused3

Would Adorama - be better or no?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! ****pulling hairs out!!!*****

As far as I know Amazon always clearly states if the item is being bought and shipped from another dealer. If it says "ships from Amazon" it should be coming directly from Amazon.

But Adorama is another very reputable site so you can't go wrong with either one. The one nice thing about Amazon is that if the price drops again within 30 days of your purchase you can call them and they'll refund you the difference.

Looks like the S3 just jumped up to $315 on Amazon, it's been going back and forth between $300 and $315 for a few days now.

see the "also buy from these dealers" on the right?you can get it from them as well...also under the "56 new and used" link there are others selling it...right now 17 st photo is a little less but might not have free shipping...it'll tell you the details of all the dealers if you click the "56 new etc link"any reputable photo place will say gray or import in the description if it is. i think from what i have read on amazon is it will back you up from any dealer you use from their website if something goes wrong. ( i was wondering when i used ace for the first time last few weeks.)

Jeanne, i don't know why but some things i have bought the main feature is amazon( ie some organizers etc) but i think almost all the camera stuff i have gotten from them has under the main feature another store..maybe it's just what i have bought...any way i've never had any problem with anything i have bought through amazon website...

Yes, I bought mine from Amazon. The IS stands for Image Stabilization.

Thank You. Did yours have a usa warranty card with it? I just don't want to buy a grey market camera.

I added a link to the OP. Did yours say pro series when you ordered it. Seems like i read on a different thread that you bought yours not too long ago.

Yep, I got mine from Amazon back in Sept. Like you, I don't remember the "Pro Series" part of the name, but I just checked Amazon.com, and that's the right camera.
