Amazon.com Deals

So let me say I have ALWAYS loved Amazon for great deals. And I never knew about the price matching thing till I read this thread. Well back in September I ordered the Pizza Elmo for a Christmas gift, I paid $24.88, now it is $7.50 :scared1:...so after I got confirmation of my last refund I figured that I wasn't out anything to ask if I could get the refund for the Elmo, guess what?!?! I just got confirmation that they are refunding me the $17.38!!

That's great!! :cool1:

I am with you, I am so pleased with Amazon!! I got my email notices that I'm getting my refunds credited to my card. I am thrilled!

I placed my 10th order this morning. lol Got the Little People pirate ship (I think I got the last one at the low price and free ship), the Mr. Potato Head pirate set, and two of the Pirates of the Caribbean skull room alarms.

While I am not an Amazon newbie, I honestly don't exactly understand how you "know" your item is eligable for an adjustment?. I decided to give it a try and actually got $1.41 back for a book that I paid about $5 for!!!! :scared1: :lmao: Too funny. But seriously can anyone answer my question? How to you know?

I went through the items I ordered and compared the price I paid to the price they are currently listed as. Is there any other way?

That's great about the $1.41! lol

Liz: I thought there might be an easier way that I was over looking. Sometimes I can't see the obvious! ;) But thanks!! :santa:

Oh, me too. It would be nice if the items we've ordered had updates next to them saying "the price on this item has gone up/down since you purchased it". Just like how they do it with things saved in your cart. Of course I can't imagine them doing this and making it THAT easy for us to get money back from them! lol

I posted this earlier, but this thread has gotten so long...it is actually VERY easy. After you buy something and your transaction is complete. Go back to the item and put it in your cart then move it to "save for later". this is what you are referring to in your post, only I just never buy them later. After 30 days I delete from my cart. Anytime you go to your shopping cart, Amazon alerts you of the increases and decreases in price of items you have in your cart (even in the saved for later).
With so many orders placed lately, all I have to do is go to Amazon's site and click on my cart if any prices have changed it is in a message at the top. It is so easy.

I think there is a website that priovides alerts for this sort of thing. I read about it in a magazine, but I can't recall the site and am not sure if it handles Amazon.

Ahhhh! How clever, I just needed someone to put 2 and 2 together for me. lol Thanks for the tip!! :)

I just wanted to post that one of my two items was shipped to day and that I received my email that I will only be charged 10.49 for the disney dvd game. Yay!

I placed my 10th order this morning. lol Got the Little People pirate ship (I think I got the last one at the low price and free ship),

how did you get this? I've been kicking myself for waiting on this....I've been eyeing it for a month on both TRU and Amazon, finally went to bite the bullet with my order last night, and it was up to 85.00!!!! :scared1:

Those of you requesting a price adjustment from Amazon, how long does it take before you hear back from them? Couple days ago, I emailed them and got an email back within a few hours. Today, I emailed them this morning at about 10am and still haven't heard back from them.

When I looked at it this morning, it was $20.99 with free shipping. So I ordered it.

The prices on there change at the drop of a hat! I've noticed that what happens sometimes is when Amazon sells out of something, it then turns it over to selling from another seller, but the price is high. But then as soon as Amazon gets more in stock, the price goes back down.

I saw this happen multiple times with the Fisher Price Smart Cycle. I bought it at the low price with free ship, then it went out of stock with Amazon, but they had it through other sellers and the price went way up. But then once Amazon got it back in stock, the price went back down and the free shipping was back on it.

So sometimes you just have to catch it at the right time. I wouldn't be surpised if the Little People Pirate Ship has this happen once Amazon gets more in stock.

And I will say that I have definitely learned that if something you want is at the right price, don't hesitate! The next time you go to look at it, even moments later, it could be totally different.

Good luck! pirate:

Let's see, I emailed them yesterday afternoon, I guess it was about 1pm. And then I got the reply at around 8pm last night. Then today, maybe around 12Noon, I got another email from them saying they had credited my card.

I'm sure they are very busy, just with those of us on this thread! lol ;)

Thanks..guess I will be a little more patient and wait..I can imagine they have tons of price adjustment to do! I never even knew that Amazon did price adjustment I found this thread...so thank youuu!!!!!

This thread is killing my budget!! Every day I run home to check it and see if there are any more great deals I have to have!!

My poor UPS man is going to hate me !

Yeah, I bet mine is cursing me under his breath. :rotfl2:

any one thinking of waiting til the last minute and shopping from amazon next year?

No, because of the price adjustment, I feel safe securing the items I want and asking for the differerence if the price goes down. :thumbsup2

I just placed a order and then cancelled it. Great deals but est ship time is 12/17 with free shipping. too close for comfort for me..

Awww, you shouldn't have! It would have been there. Most of my items are coming much earlier than the estimated times given.

YES! That would be great. But, they sure are making me work for these adjustments. I've gotten about $50 total credited back to me so far and it's almost a full-time job keeping up with what prices have dropped and what I've already gotten an adjustment on. But, it's all worth it.

I LOVE THESE DEALS!!!

Okay Everyone, one caveat:

I emailed Amazon to request a price adjustment on a Webkinz that I had ordered for 13.49. 6 HOURS LATER, the price wen't down to 7.48. Adjustment, right? Not necessarily. Check out the email I recieved from Amazon this morning:

So, looks like I won't be getting that money back after all. I figured if it was ordered thru Amazon, it would qualify. :confused3

Yes, I'm sorry to say that Amazon cannot honor a price adjustment policy with their merchants. So, I'm glad you reminded folks that only items sold through Amazon.com (not their merchants) are eligible for a price adjustment.

I never buy from their merchants and I wish they would give merchants their own section and not display their items when I do a search. I always have to go to the left and click the "Sold by" link to sort items only sold by Amazon.

I am so happy with Amazon. I placed an order at 8 am this morning and just got a email saying my items have shipped.  I was so worried they wouldn't get here in time, now I know they will.

I emailed them yesterday at about 10am and still haven't heard from them...so it is unlikely that I am going to get any refund since the price for the items have gone up today.
