Amazing Race

Crap! I just tuned into my TiVo to watch the show and the end of the freaking race was on live! 10 minutes before the end of the show. Now I’m spoiled on the ending :(.

Very boring finale. They couldn't even make it dramatic because they were so far ahead. No wonder they kept this show in the can for so long. If it weren't for the pandemic who knows if we would have even seen this.
Finales have often been quite linear, so if you get in front early, you have a huge advantage.

It hurt watching SO much cake go to waste on that challenge. I gladly would have helped eat some of them.

But just thinking about how many pounds upon pounds of bread were just thrown away because they were torn apart.

They could edit it for more drama. Especially since they were so far ahead, all they had to do was focus on each team separately and they could make it appear as though they are neck and neck. I've always said the finale only needs to be watched for the first 30-40 minutes. Everything after that is just a waste.

I was mildly impressed by who won and a bit disappointed by who lost. I'm glad Hung and Chee got second but I wish that the Beard Bros hadn't gotten so behind so quick. The Boyfriends didn't have too much drama on their challenges so apparently when they don't they can really focus. I wanted the Beard Bros to win though. I do agree though this episode was lackluster

What impressed me was that the boyfriends managed to do what Boston Rob couldn't - bring an element of Survivor on the show and win.

Mind you it took a rather suspect "return to the gate" pickup for Rob and Amber to lose, but nevertheless, they lost.

With that said, I'm ok with not seeing large alliances on the show again. I will allow that this was something of an outlier, in that the four strongest teams happened to ally with one another, but it did suck some of the fun out of things.

Probably the easiest final leg ever. Disappointing finale and disappointing winners.
There was one that finished in Vegas that was easier I think. No needle/haystack task so it really came down to the first taxi ride there.

That was simply appalling; it actually made me angry. This season's race visited several countries where food security is a real issue.

I was also disappointed in the outcome. After the Geeks got eliminated I was rooting for Hung & Chee all the way. I actively disliked both the other finalist pairs.

Riley/Madison and Gary/DeAngelo were the strongest teams.IMO Hung and Chee were carried as a throw away. Will/James manipulated them all. C'est la vie.

I liked it years ago when they had to fight for their flights and actually had to figure out different ways to get somewhere. Now it appears all flights are preplanned and they all catch up. After one of the boyfriends saying good last week when Phil said one of their alliance teams weren't there, I really did not want them to win after that. Did anyone see the football players at the finish line? I tuned it out.

I understand having the plane reservations preplanned for budgeting. Maybe they need more staggered flights instead.

I'm not sure it (only for) budgeting. I think they realized that when one team ended up 6 hours behind due to a flight issue it removes all suspense and potentially slows down production since they can't move Phil and the production team around him until the last team is eliminated
