...so please explain why they have to give their reasons for disliking this family to YOU?? :rotfl:

I don't know why you have a laughing smiley at the end of your post a sif you said something hysterical. Unless I missed something funny.

But anyways, they don't have to answer to me for anything. I just wanted to know how everyone formed their opinions about the Weavers and I am stating my opinion (am I still allowed to that here?...just checking) that it is not right to label people and say nasty things about them (that may or may not be true) when you have nothing to back it up with. Just think of how you would feel if I call everyone who disagreed with me Christian-hating prayer bashers. You would all be legitimately outraged because that is not a fair statement and I only have these posts to judge you by. :confused3

:sad2: :rolleyes2 You have no idea.

well, I don't know what you were taught, but as a Catholic, I was taught that you pray to God for guidance, and the strength to be able to accept and get through what was to be. We were always told not to pray to God to ask for a bike for Christmas!!! (which would be the same as asking him to help you win a race)
So that's one thing that's annoying. I also think they whine too much. :rotfl:

Exactly!! Well put.

If you are saying "Heck no, they are still awful people, even if they were not Christians!", then what about the Bransen girls mooning the young men on the Linz family? Is that okay? No matter how cute some of you thought it was, that is unlady-like, appalling behavior. And who was laughing the front seat? Good old Wally! He must have been so proud!

What about the Linz boys badgering the Weaver boy at that baseball field? Did I hear someone say they were a nice familly? That poor boy was just trying to hit the ball, he never said two words to those jerks. How is that behavior okay?

Their behavior may not have been acceptable, but it wasn't directly implied to hurt someone. Mooning someone may offend you, but it obviously didn't offend the Linz boys, even telling the boy to miss the ball wasn't a target against him, but calling names and making fun of people is uncalled for. The Paolos will see it after the episode airs, as well as the Sisters. How do you think those direct name callings will make them feel.

I'm not saying that all of the other teams are saints, but that's what stands out as the difference to me.

no one seems to have a good reason.

No one has been able to back up their claims with any hard evidence (except last nights fiasco, which doesn't explain why the Weavers have been so disliked all along).

Actually, I had reasons and back up...you've just chosen to ignore them. I can go back and find the post if you want.

Exhibit A- The 'nicknames' they have so gracially named the other teams, and the way they say them. The Gaghan kids did nothing to deserve being called RugRATS with a tone of disgust by the Weavers.
B- The way the mom freaked out during the van incident. Um, sorry, no sympathy for me. It's not that hard to keep level headed instead of freaking out like a chicken with it's head cut off, especially in front of your children. It wasn't even that big of a problem anyway. I'd hate to see her in other situations.
C- Of course, last night's incident at the pit stop. No need to go there.
D- When the Weaver mom shouted to the other team's boat driver to slow down their boat. Wow, classy.

There are a whole bunch more (those are only from about the last 2-3 episodes), but it's hard to remember them all. For me, these incidents are enough to shape my opinion of them. Maybe not for you. My feelings have nothing to do with them being Christians, as I am one myself.

Last I checked, not every Christian is Catholic, and not everyone was brought up in your household. The Catholic church also does not dictate how others are supposed to pray and what is or isn't allowed to be prayed for.

If these are your reasons for disliking them, then apparently you must have disliked about 85% of the people who have ever played this game. Why do you watch?

Well, it wasn't my household that taught me, it was my Catholic School education. Do you have a problem with Catholics? ;)

Maybe you should calm down. :confused3

... I am one of those folks who need justification when others are hated to strongly and especially when labels like "hypocrite" and "sore losers" are put on people.

But you said, "*I* need justification"...so, why is that? Just curious.

Don't know where you got the idea I wasn't calm....I didn't even put exclamation points in my post. No problem with Catholics here....grew up in a family of 'em. Became Protestant when I was 19. BTW, in my Catholic upbringing, the priest never gave me that list you have of all those things we are not allowed to pray for. :confused3

None of the others have acted the same way the Weavers have...and if they have, it was towards the Weavers, for what they have said and done to them..

And I watch because I love the show. We're all allowed to have opinions of the teams, and for some reason you don't like the opinion that most of us have of the Weavers. Personally, I can't stand them. For the reasons I posted and more. The most grating thing is their holier than thou attitude. They say that they are 'above' the other teams, but they actually act worse... (The Nerd Herd from BB6 anyone?)

JUSTIFICATION-
something (such as a fact or circumstance) that shows an action to be reasonable or necessary; "he considered misrule a justification for revolution"
a statement in explanation of some action or belief
the act of defending or explaining or making excuses for by reasoning;

If you can't justify a belief or feeling toward something,or in this case an accusation, it has no substance. Before I can respect where someone is coming from, I just need for people to justify (see above definitions) the accusations they made toward the Weaver family. Some of you have, you just don't like them...they have a wierd personality, they are annoying, etc. I can respect that. But to say "I don't like them because they are hypocrites or sore losers or because they are rude, and then not tell me when they did any of these things leaves your opinion to question. That's all.

Okay, you are not paying attention. I'll try again. I don't have a problem that you all don't like the Weavers. I don't like them either. I don't like the accusations that have been made about them with nothing to back them up. That is all.

And your kidding about no one else acting like or worse than the Weavers, right? Maybe we are watching two different shows for the past few seasons. :confused3

You've got to be kidding. This is TELEVISION!!!!! We are allowed to not like someone just because we don't like them. We don't have to have a "good reason". Although, I believe that I do. Why are you taking this so personally? :confused3

I know the definition of "justification". Most probably could care less if you "respect" where they are coming from...

I will stop now, so you can have the last word. I know you will like that. :)
