Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

I wonder if they'll do an eating challenge this year?? If they do I HOPE they do not have a "cop out" option.

I was wondering about the eating challenge myself. Some of those are pretty gross! :crazy2: Maybe they excluded them because of the children?

But did anyone notice that with the season with Rob/Amber, every time THEY came in first, they got a trip. There were several legs in the race where others came in first and didn't get anything. :confused3 This really annoyed me. Gotta like some of the cool prizes this time ... the fun "vehicles" last night were cool, and I especially liked the "gas for life for licensed drivers". I think that's worth waaayy more than the million bucks! :rotfl:

I noticed that too!! I was so upset when Lynn and Alex FINALLY came in first and they didn't get a trip! :guilty:

So, what "fun" vehicle would you pick? A Segway, a Vespa, a Jet
Ski, or an ATV?
Hands down, for me, would be the Segway! I did the Segway tour last year and it was a blast.

Jet Ski!!! I would love to have one of those. It's on my wish list.
I like the Segways, but I think they would get boring after awhile.

I saw the Early Show today and the family was great. The mom says that she dreams of red beans all the time and said that is was her fault that they lost. The whole family was supportive and the boy said that the centrifuge at the Space Center was the highlight for him. The dad spoke about how they watched the previous races and he showed the kids that yelling at somebody doing a task only makes things worse. The had taught the kids to be supportive in those situations, not increase the stress level.

I have always liked them and I liked how they handled themselves in the interview. While I didn't like that Dad's language at the bungee jump, I thought they did a great job at staying together as a team and a family.

Thanks Claudia! Did the little girl say anything during the interview?? They were all trooper's, I really liked them!

Can someone explain this to me? I thought this time the race was supposed to be in the continental US. :confused3

Anyways, maybe one of their next pit stops might be in Canada. :goodvibes

Nope--they were going to go international. Just not "around the world".

I see people caught the retard, fake ****, and squirrel comments but what about the - we're Christian, we're better than them?

They never fail to out do themselves in each leg.

Oh and... righto or lefto? :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

So sad to see the Ghagans go. Carissa is my 9 year old DD's hero. My daughter is very girlie and not as athletic as she'd like to be. She was in awe of that little girl.

I was very surprised to check this thread and see that it's turned into such a huge debate. I don't care for the Weavers, not because they pray or anything, I just think they are annoying. Mom says some really funny things though (Lake Ponchatrain is one of the Great Lakes :rotfl2: ). I did feel really sorry for her last night though. Maybe it's because I'm pms-ing and am overly emotional, but when she said "I'm tired of doing things I can't do" I was thinking somehow she was talking about a little more than the race. It must be really hard for her raising the kids alone. I don't know how I would manage if it were me.

I don't really have a favorite now that the Ghagans are gone. I feel so lost! Hopefully one team will start to stand out for me next week. I can't watch without a team!!! :rotfl:

:moped: I'll take a Vespa. I'd get on the Segway and probably fall right on my head.

Someone claims that was never said. I don't have it recorded, so couldn't check. But if they did say it--then all I have to say is...."SEE---they did SAY it". :rotfl:

See a few posts above where I quoted a quote you originally directed at me!

Yeah, sorry about that. I tried to edit it before anyone could read it. A mistake I made, too bad my baby tore up my glasses. I read it wrong.

Oh, they said it.

Take the total time they have shown us and multiply it by 12. That's how much the other teams have had to listen to them. Think of all that time waiting at the pit stops and the equalizers. Shouldn't be hard to understand why each team is hoping they get elimitated.

Usually it's a strategy thing, wanting the best team out. Not this time.

When did they say that? I'm not surprised the other teams want them eliminated

I too was sad to see the Little ones go. They added some fun to the race I thought. Now there are no younger players left. As for the Weavers I don't like them for a number of reasons: 1. I would never let my daughters be on national TV wearing such skimpy "shorts" (not sure you can even call them that). 2. Their attitude of we're better than the others (either due to their faith or even their game play) it just comes off really bad. Rob was an arrogant SOB but he knew he was the villian and didn't act like he was morally superior to the others...game play superior but not morally. 3. As a player I would have been hating them just after that bus ride. I mean they were being extremely loud and annoying (from what we saw). I am sure others wanted to sleep and with their racket it would have been hard.

That thing had 13 shows, If they only have 5 teams left how are they going to manage that?

I think there are still 2-3 non-elimination legs left, so that will take up a couple of episodes.
