Amazing Race All Star starts 2/23/14 Offical Thread no spoilers

I don't see how anybody could cheer for the country singers, they have done NOTHING on their own. If the other racers are stupid enough to keep them in the game that is their problem.

That's what makes it a good show, different people cheer for different teams.

I would think it a smart move. Aligning with a weak team and pushing them along just improves your odds of not coming in last, later. The catch is when helping them results in putting your own team at too much risk and you come in last as a result.

I would hope that if they are final 3, that the teams realize it is okay to not help them.

A not on Dave and Connor--as annoying as they may be, they seem to follow through if they say they will help someone (like Afghanimals). I find that honorable that they choose to not say they will do something and not. For the singers, they made sure to let them know they had not left them deliberately. They were also up front and apologetic about u-turning. Whether this bites them in the end, we will have to wait and see.

Agreed! Their true colors are showing.
We will see how they do when they cannot use u-turns to their advantage.
Ummm. Isn't that the point of the U-turn? :confused3 To use it to your advantage? If no one was going to use it, why have it in the first place? No different than skipping a task with an express pass. Dave and Connor were too close for Brenden and Rachel for their comfort. Kudos to them for using it to their advantage.

That said, you have to admire the Afghanimals and their take on the U turn. THREE times U-turned in AR history and still in the game! And no hard feelings for Dave and Connor for doing it. It's part of the game.

::yes:: Totally agree! I think that each of us finds something different in each team based on what we know, what we see, and what we project on each.

I agree with you on that one, Lisa.::yes:: They did keep their word.

Ah, rats - on both ends of the results :(. I don't like who won, and I'm disappointed over who came in last.

ITA!!

I'll admit I'm only watching because of Jet and Cord. I love me some Cowboys.

Oh--Totally!

What I meant was that they think they are these awesome players. I don't think they are. And while one doesn't have to help another team, I think this will all come back to bite them.

I think they feared the wrong people and u-turned the wrong ones, personally. They were first place and u-turned the team immediately behind them while a stronger team with an express pass was behind them.

Jett and Cord uses their pass wisely in anticipation of being u-turned.

Missed opportunity. We will see last week how close Jett and Cord were behind them.

So yes--it is the point of the u-turn, but they used it as a panic solution versus a strategic solution.

They came in first last time, but only by 45 minutes. They aren't as great as they think they are.

I love Brendon and Rachel and I'm ok with them u-turning. It's part of the game. I thought Dave and Connor got rather ugly. They could have took the opportunity to show their good side instead of speaking so ugly of Rachel. The Afganimals handled the u-turn much better.

LOVE THE COWBOYS!!!

Okay. We are actually thinking alike, then. I was thinking that the Cowboys would have been a better choice at the time, too. Even the Cowboys were expecting to be U-turned on that leg.

While Brenchal and the Afghanimals are my favourites, as long as the Country singers don't win, I'm okay. I've enjoyed the new places this year. And I like the tasks, too. I was disappointed that Flight Time and Big Easy were sooooo far behind today.

Any guesses on the last task of the game? I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary on the mat that the players should be looking for, so maybe just pictures or flags that they will need to put in order??

I couldn't stand how Conners dad kept saying I'm 60 how are you going to U turn me? He was acting like such a sore loser. Did anyone notice how he was mocking Rachel as Brenchel was leaving? IMO Brenchal were strategic especially when the other team was so close behind.

No idea--but aren't all the greeters in traditional costume?

I think the final task should involve the costumes.

Match something (accessories, tops to bottoms, costume to flag) and then put them in order.

I don't think they have ever done anything with costumes before, have they?

I was thinking the same thing, maybe dress the mannequin and label it and put it in order....

I agree about the country girls. They do nothing on their own. Dave & Connor are also so annoying. I wanted to smack him. Dude, the Uturn is part of the game. Why shouldn't they uturn you???? You turned right around and uturned the animals. How is that any different?!?!

I hope Brenchal, the Cowboys, and Animals are in the final 3.

Wow, the Globe Trotters must have gotten really lost in Rome. They listened to the local that gave them a short cut to get out of Rome, it must not have happened.

The monks wearing the cowboy ghats was funny too. I am glad they are in Italy, what a beautiful country.

Dave, why did you come back on the show if you thought you were to old.

It's quite easy to get lost in Italian cities. :rotfl: The roads can change names from block to block. I look at the plan and follow the diagram....straight, pass 2 streets, y to the right, etc. and use street names to verify. I wish they'd shown the teams driving to Siena...ALL roads lead to Siena and the signs all begin with Monte. :lmao:

I don't get the outrage over brenchel using the u-turn!:lmao: I mean if they didn't get to it first it would have been used on them. Its fair game, I say. Connors dad was acting like a big baby over that u-turn :lmao:.

The previews look awful with everyone attacking Rachael. I can't stand the country girls, what have they done?

I really want Brenchel to win with the animals or cowboys coming in second.

It is good for them to keep the country girls in the race. The country girls are the weakest team left and each time they are not eliminated a stronger team is.

What have the girls done? They've given Country singers a bad name. :(

I don't mind the country girls. What irked me was Brendan at the monastery saying stuff like "it's you, me and God...Rachel'. And they kept showing him praying. Just odd to me. I liked them on Big Brother but not on AR the last time they were on, then I was liking them at the beginning of this season. Now, I am not liking them out of the remaining teams. And I wish they had gone instead of BE and FT...I liked them (they were so fun with the locals). I hated the Afganimals last time but really like them this season. I also like the Cowboys. While the dad in the father-son duo can be annoying, they are both good guys and usually work really hard to get 'er done...so I like them. The dad refusing to do the calligraphy challenge, well, all the teams have their bad moments and I think the cameras/producers just eat up those moments. Anyway, I think Brenchel and the Cowboys and the Afganimals will be final 3. Next team out will likely be the country singers and then the father-son duo.

I can't stand Dave. Stubborn and rude. After finding out that Brenchel had u-turned them, he said, "I was just telling Connor this morning that she is scary looking." Wow, completely uncalled for. Maybe that was karma coming back to bite your butt for saying something so hateful about what you thought of her physical appearance when she had done nothing to you up until that point. He looks so foolish to me the way he's so whipped over the country girls.

I hate that the Afghanimals are kind of teaming up with them (per the previews). Just when they were starting to grow on me.

While Brenchel could have used the u-turn on someone farther behind to ensure their own safety, I think they u-turned Dave/Connor because Brenchel wanted to be first. They were trying to ensure that they won that leg, not just didn't come in last. Worked out for them.

I love how Jet and Cord mind their own business and just keep their eyes on the prize. While Brenchel annoys me a little, I will be rooting for them over Dave/Conner, the country girls (agreed that they do NOTHING), and the Afghanimals just based on the way they appear to be mocking Brenchel next week. Grow up!

I didn't hear that, but I had the same thought. Her eyeliner makes her look scary.

I heard him. I'm not a huge fan a Rachel (couldn't stand her on BB or the last season of AR, nor Brendon for that matter), but the comment just sounded so ridiculous and petty, especially coming from a 60 something year old.

I don't mind Connor, but Dave acts like a such an annoying, bratty, hypocritical, little bully. If things don't go his way he sure doesn't handle it well...at all and he should technically be the most mature one there, but he sure doesn't act mature. I kinda feel bad for his son. I'm hoping they leave next (really I've been hoping they would leave since the beginning,) but it doesn't look like that'll happen for a while.

I really liked the Globetrotters, but knew they'd be gone. They just don't think a lot of the time. They really should have been out last week, because there's no way they would have figured out the last part without the Afganimals telling them the answer, but it came back this week when once again they wouldn't go back and read the clue. - I know they were pretty far behind even then, but who knows how long they goofed off making faces at the donkey maker guy instead of looking at the clue again.
