Amazing Race #22, NON-spoiler thread!

The description of the episode on DISH Network even made reference to it, saying something like, "One team makes history while trying to stay in the race".

Unbelievably bone-headed move. First, to switch tasks to the other Detour task and second, to not use it at the Roadblock. Either spot would have been an easy decision to make, I would think.

What were they doing wrong on the fruit task?

It was bittersweet for me because Connor cheated by looking at Winnie's surfboard even though she was clearly trying to hide it and not share it with him. He didn't even try at all. They can quit now AFAIC.

Didn't bother me, I still like Connor and his dad. :thumbsup2

I agree, I don't think that was right at all. I'm probably in the minority but I don't care for them and I'll be glad to see them go. I'm tired of hearing how much they have gone through over and over, they just need to move on.

Meh... if she wouldn't have gotten lost **again** she would have come in first since Connor still had to find the board with the right picture on it. :confused3

HAHAHAHAHA!

Not using the Express Pass was probably the most bone-headed move ever made on the Amazing Race!

Yay! the father/son team are still there! good for them.

I'm starting to root for the hockey players. I want them to go far.

Sort of like getting voted off of Survivor with a Immunity Idol in ones pocket.

We'll see next week when they tell what time they leave the pitstop to see how close Winnie and Pam really were. If Connor actually had to think in the challenge instead of just looking for the image he already believed to be right that may have negated the time Winnie spent getting lost. FWIW, I think it was OK that he tried to sneak a peek but once she covered it up to prevent him from seeing it, it was bad form for him to continue to try to look at it. On the same vein, I thought it was bad form for Mona and Beth (Roller Derby) to get help from Joey and Meghan (Youtube) but then refuse to help the other team that came up with the wrong board (was it Chuck & Wynona?). There are still so many teams left, I think it's to your advantage to help folks that are in the back of the pack with you. You never know when you might need their help in the future.

I agree on both your points. I thought it was bad form to peek at the board she was hiding & was surprised the roller derby moms didn't help Chuck & Wynona. I am glad creepy guy & seemly normal girl are gone, she looked upset, but I will not miss him at all! I was disappointed to see how they edited the beginning to not know how some teams really jumped up in the rankings at the obstacle course from the end of last week. Hockey guys went from near bottom to 3rd or 4th, but how? I like them, but they are going to need to smarten up. Tired of father/son team already.....he IS going to actually have to do something sometime, right? Son can't keep doing all the detours & roadblocks, can he?

Dave has done 1 Roadblock and Connor has done 4. The need to do an equal number of Roadblocks to finish the race. Eventually, Dave will have to do his share but it makes sense to me right now that Connor does as many as possible while Dave rests. FWIW, Chuck also has done 4 Roadblocks so Wynona will have step it up soon.

I don't like the dad's personality, not sure why?

I really won't miss them either...;)

I was thinking the same thing. Eventually, there will come a time when Dave will need to do a roadblock and then they'll be screwed (assuming Dave's leg doesn't magically heal itself). I suppose it's possible there will be some non-physical roadblocks coming up that maybe Dave can do. Actually, if it wasn't for all the stairs, this week's one is probably one he could have done.

I think when they showed their arrangement, there were sticks poking out of all the fruit.

Thanks to creative editing, you kind of knew they were screwed once they showed him going on about being very detail oriented.

:crutches:

I like them both and I hope they are asked to return for a future race.

Interview with John and Jessica....

http://social.entertainment.msn.com...spx?post=ec90f3e3-0aa3-40f5-8d47-1631f2c44505

I thought they always put extra clues in the clue box to throw people off?

And I gotta say...I don't get why people are saying Connor cheated. I don't think it's against the rules to look at what the other people are doing. I also don't think it's against the rules to show other people what they are looking for (I read on FB people saying the team that showed their board to another team were cheating). If it's not against the rules, it's not cheating. :confused3

By the way, I still don't have a favorite team or even one I'm really rooting for. Who does everybody else like?

I think the clue might have been one extra roadblock indicating one team hadn't arrived yet. I didn't see the end though, so I don't know for sure.

No favorite team for me either. I like the hockey guys simply because everyone wants them out. I love underdogs!

This was such a great episode, thanks to the losing team. I feel like the tasks were so easy this week though. It's not surprising the father-son team are still in the lead with such kickback tasks for them to complete and morning flights so no equalizer. I hope there's a more physical leg soon. Yes, I'm rooting for father-son to go. They annoy me.

I like the hockey players, Team Wal-Mart, and Team Orange (tan newlyweds). I don't know most of the names yet, obviously. I usually do, but something's off for me this season. :confused3

It was painful to watch John and Jessica screw up that challenge, but it was highly entertaining to watch John lose his mind. Speaking of losing their mind, the youtube guy talking to the monkey in that voice . . . a little strange.

This is the most unlikable group of racers I can remember on AR. So glad to see that arrogant dummy go though. I am also not a fan of the father/son, you tubers or the newlyweds.

I really wish they would cut back on the celebrities and feature more real people.

I can't WAIT for team YouTube to go home!!! That guy is just so over the top annoying to me. DS and I just roll our eyes and give an "ooooooo-kkaaaayy" with everything he does. I'd rather listen to nails on a chalkboard, honestly. The newlyweds (team Orange - I like that! ::yes::) are second on my hit list.

It appears to me too, everything is over the top, like he is wanting to be discovered and be bigger than youtube, maybe his own hit comedy show.

Team orange :lmao:

I don't think there was any "cheating" this episode. Connor probably shouldn't have continued to look at her board, but if she knew where she was going, it would have been a non-issue. It's not like the team that was eliminated trying to walk past Phil to see the correct boards (seriously, WTH?!)

Other teams can chose to share information, but I don't think that gives the team they gave the information to an obligation to pass along the information to the next team.

My favorite at this point are the Roller Derby Moms. I loved the editing when they said there's no crying on the Amazing Race, and then they showed the Singers crying  And the one fell down the steps, just stood back up, dusted herself off, and kept going. There was no "WAITTTTT I FELLLLLLLLL WAHHHHHH" So you know, bonus points.

The Hockey guys are kind of pervs.
