Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

I think what O/D said was "God give me the patience to deal with this taxi driver and please give me the intelligence to hide his body when I Kill him." I dont think it is exact but darn close to what he said. Someone mentioned this a couple of pages back.

yep, that's what he said. I just watched it. :rotfl2:

I, for one, am happy it was a non-elimination week again. This show is almost done and I don't want it to end yet:sad1: . And I'm happy Danny and Oswald get to stay another week.

I watch this show with my kids and I knew Eric was going to freak out again about being yeilded. I had to mute him every time I saw him because I didn't want my kids to hear the nasty things coming out of his mouth.

I don't want Eric and Danielle to win. I'll be happy is any other team wins. Yes, including Charla and Mirna.:)

I can't stand Mirna, I have no problems with Charla. What really bugged me was when they cut the noodles too thick of course Mirna blamed it all on Charla. She can never take any of the blame. One of the reasons I like the BQ's because when they cut the noodles wrong they didn't blame each other, they just went back and repeated the challenge. It seems that Charla does more challenges, I'm not sure if that is the case though.

That's what drives me nuts! I love Charla, but Mirna is just a straight up B. She really needs to just get over herself.

And can someone correct me...but did C & M has stick-shift problems LAST season?? I'm shocked they would agree to do the All Stars but not learn to drive stick...??? :confused3 But of course it's Charla's fault that Mirna can't drive.

Well, you could say that about any of the teams left. And I don't really think lying to D/E and was that big a deal. The lie didn't affect the game in anyway. It's not like they lied about the location of a clue to purposely set them on the wrong path.

I did say that about the other teams. Some people on this thread have said the BQ's are just so nice and are playing their own game and not playing the same dirty tricks as C/M, etc. I'd say paying somebody to yield another team and then lying about it is on that level. I was saying it before, now I just have more evidence that they are not any nicer or more virtuous than the other teams. Maybe you don't think lying is a big deal, and no it didn't affect the game, but it speaks to their character, which ain't as pearly white as their teeth :teeth:

I love Danny and Oswald (although, even after 2 seasons, I'm not sure which is which) and I was glad not to see them go, but I thought it served them right. Not for selling their yield (it was the smart move and they genuinely felt bad about it - not like other teams who have laughed off doing mean-spirited things because "it's part of the race" - i.e. cancelling the cabs, etc.), but for not getting a new taxi driver. Duh! That guy didn't know where he was going from part one. I don't like the Beauty Queens (smart racers, but so holier than thou - yuck), but when they had a bad taxi driver they knew to get out and find another one. That's definitely in the top 10 of AR Rules for Winning. First the guy brings them to the end of the challenge, then has trouble simply driving alongside them and showing them back to the lake they WERE JUST AT, then brings them to the wrong side of the island? I think the boys were so wrapped up in feeling bad about the yield sale they let it totally mess up their game.

I'm rooting for Charla and Mirna. Yes, M is a bit a of witch, but I think she is just one of those people who has trouble editing what she is thinking before it comes out of her mouth. I thought it was funny when one of the BQs complimented her on her hair and she was like, "Uh, thanks?" You could tell she was thinking - "You've been a total creep to me this entire race, now you like my hair? What's going on?" And she does yell at Charla a lot, but a lot of the teams do that to let off steam (D - or was it O? - really yelled at his teammate during the dragon challenge because he didn't remember where they were going and was upset that he thought he had remembered but didn't really). She's also a big cheerleader whenever Charla does a task and always congratulates her on doing things other people wouldn't expect a little person to do. I think she comes off worse than she is because Charla just rolls with it instead of arguing back, which I think helps make them a better team.

Plus, I want 2 women to finally win, but not the BQs.

And why doesn't Charla ever drive? Surely she knows how? They don't seem to ever have the cars fitted out so that she could drive (the pedal extenders).

I am still rooting for the Beauty Queens.

I thought it was smart what they did with the yield. It is, after all, a game.

Eric is a twit. He would have done the same thing.

I was also glad the ChaChas were not eliminated. I just wonder if they'll be able to pull it off next week. I honestly thought there weren't anymore eliminations, weren't there 3 already before last night:confused3

Anyhoo, it's finally getting down to the wire. Should be a great couple of weeks. :)

There are always 4 non-elims. I wasn't counting and didn't check the date for the finale so I just assummed last night was the last before the finale. I don't think they've ever done two in a row though. So I was definitely taken by surprise.

I wonder if it is just too much of a challenge to get a car fitted that she could drive. Plus the producers would have no way of knowing if she was going to drive on a leg or not. So they would either have to outfit a care with extenders for each leg or have some sort of advance warning. Plus she might not be comfortable driving in other countries with cars she isn't familar with.

I'm also rooting for them to win. I think Mirna yells more when they are behind and she's stressing out. In the legs where they had a lead she wasn't yelling as much and didn't seem as stressed.

See, I thought that made it 4. Weren't previous seasons only 3 non-eliminations or am I dreaming again;)

I'm almost positive there have always been 4 pre-determined non-elims. I believe Phil mentions at the very begining before they start racing.

I'm glad this was the last week of no eliminations, I wish they hadn't done this two weeks in a row.

I agree that it looks as though all Mirna does is blame Charla, and that everything is peaches and cream with the BQs--- but remember its all in the editing. The producers let us see what they want us to. Just like in Survivor when it looked like Richard Hatch ran around naked for days, and days.

Can't stand either one of the all girls teams. GO DANNY, AND OSWALD!!!

Thanks for sharing but that's just dumb (the producers, not you). I never liked that they were picked as a team and for the all stars. They aren't all star material. Did anyone really even like them on their first season? But I am glad to hear that they are just friends considering the way he talks to her.

I agree. They aren't even a real team. Were the producers of AR so hard up that they had to combine former contestants to make a team? Heck I'd rather see half of a family edition team in this race instead of unoriginal team mates.

I honestly don't understand the intense animosity some have for Dustin and Kandace. Seems like they are playing a good game and not insulting locals in the process. They haven't done anything against the rules and stand up for themselves when necessary. I think the other teams are nervous around them because they know they have the capability to win the race- thus the name calling, etc... It made the most sense to yield Eric and Danielle. They were already marked for a 30 minute penalty. Another yeild would have set them back further. Why would you yield a team you would have little impact on (ie Charla/Mirna)

I can't stand Eric's foul mouth. Whenever something doesn't go his way he immediately blames someone else. Mirna and Charla are rude to the locals (remember "you like Polish Sausage?") Cha Cha Cha and D&K at least have been fairly nice to each other and their competitors. They also seem like they are enjoying the race and not taking things so seriously.

I am rooting for Danny and Oswald to win, but sadly I don't think that is going to happen. They have a lot of ground to make up, although ANYTHING can happen ;)

Eric and Danielle are just awful. Both are immature, he is a punk and she just follows along.I could not stand Eric on season 9 & he sure has not changed much since then
.
I also don't think they should be there, they are not an original team so in my opinion are NOT All-Stars! I can't believe the producers could not find another former TEAM that would do the All-Stars edition. :confused3 I would have taken ANY other team over a made up team...even the lovely Jonathan and Victoria :scared1:

It will be interesting to see if there is an equilizer right away like this week. It's about time to leave China, so hopefully they'll all get caught up at the airport.

Yeah what about the hippies? I was so disappointed they weren't on this season.

.even the lovely Jonathan and Victoria

Oh no you didn't!!!:scared1:

I think the beauty queens lost me on their "sista" comment from the last time they were on. And they were just all around obnoxious on that show. This time they are better editted I think - they came across as not so nasty and kind of nice. I lol when she said "I like your hair" And Charla almost fell over!
Oh and I think I read the hippies turned it down. One of them is doing some volunteer stuff I think that he couldn't leave.(I could be making that all up though I really am not sure but that is how I remember it)
