Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Happy New Year Amanda! I am so sorry to hear your father is feeling poorly. Healing :wizard: and prayers are being sent his way.

So Curves went well? That is great! make sure you take the time to stretch afterwards. That is what prevents you from feeling sore and it allso helps provide oxygen to you muscles - very important! ::yes:: How did the weigh -in and measurements go? I bet you will be very pleasantly surprised in a month when you get remeasured!! :Pinkbounc

I hope you have a wonderful OP day today! WDW is just around the corner for you!! :cool1:

Amanda, I'll be looking forward to your call on Thursday evening. I need to check flight times - can't have you calling before we even check in! :teeth: Also, thanks for promising to walk with me to the bus stop on Sunday morning - I'm such a chicken about walking alone in the dark! My bad eyes don't help - I tend to run into things! :p You are a sweetie!!

I'll be wearing pants & a t-shirt. There is NO WAY these legs are going to be visible during the half! I haven't made a WISH walker t-shirt yet - not sure if I'll have time.....

Lapu Lapu, here we come!!!! :cloud9:

Hi Amanda,

I definately think that the half counts as a workout. Congratulations on 6 miles in 60 minutes. That is an amazing pace. WOW!

I'm glad that you are enjoying Curves. Don't worry about the measuring. They take you into the changing room for privacy. If you go at about the same time, you'll get to know people. There are lots of regulars at Curves. Everyone is friendly.

If I don't make it back before you leave on Thursday, have a great time. I'll be :cheer2:

Have fun,
Beth

I'm sending :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: to help melt any ice you've got out there!! Be extra careful - no hurting yourself before the half!!!

We arrive in Sanford around 5 PM so should be checked into CBR by 7:30 or 8 PM on Thursday. Can't believe I'm leaving tomorrow! Gee, guess I should start packing, huh?

It will not all come off at once, it will not all come off at once, it will not all come off at once.

This morning I woke up aggravated at the scale and at myself so I have to keep reminding myself that this weight is not all going to just fall off at once - no matter how much I want it too!!! :earboy2:

Yesterday I did not do well food wise.
B: egg, cheese, ham
L; Chicken Ceasar Salad w/Bread Stick
D: Tuna Casserole
S: 1 piece of Toblerone chocolate.
Water: 3 glasses.

I have been craving Tuna Casserole like crazy and yesterday was such a comfort food day that I had to have it. And trust me I indulged in a lot of it.

Today is a new day and I am looking forward to it.
B: 2 pieces of Canadian Bacon, 2 eggs, and a slice of cheese - 3 carbs
L: If I go home it iwll be leftover Beef Roast and Greenbeans if I stay at work it will be a salad.
S: Veggies and dip
D: I am going to broil steak kabobs with green peppers and will make broccolli in a cheese sauce.
S: ???

Water - 8 glasses
Exericse - Going to Curves tonight.

Amanda, I think it is great that you have recommitted to your healthy eating. I think you should go easy on yourself until after this weekend. Let's face it, you know you won't eat OP this weekend. So do your best this week and then start psyching yourself out that come next week, it is back to BUSINESS!! :Pinkbounc

Your food didn't look too bad yesterday. Maybe you need to clean out that pantry like I did. You can't eat the junk if it isn't there!! :earboy2: And sometimes we just NEED the comfort foods. Good to have it this week, so next week you can move onto OP food! I am really pulling for you Amamda! :cheer2:

As you know very well, I am the queen of the weight coming off slowly. But I keep coming back and trying. We can do this together! I'll be cheering for you on Sunday :cheer2: and looking for you here on Tuesday. I'll pull you up on the wagon with me and hopefully we can keep each other on that wagon for a nice LONG ride!!! :moped:

Hang in there. You sound like me. I just keep reminding myself I didn't wake up one day and suddenly have all the extra pounds so it will go off the same way it came on. One pound (or half pound) at a time!

I can feel your pain Amanda as I was thinking the same thing this am, it will not come off all at once. It is kind of disheartening though isn't it? It will come off is what we all need to keep on chanting. Have a good workout at Curves tonight. Are you packed yet? How exciting for you! Are you all getting the same snow as we are? Hopefully it will be over and you guys can fly on schedule to my favorite place on earth!

Have a safe trip, Amanda! Let's make sure we leave the rain here in STL and NOT bring it to WDW with us!! :jumping4:

Hi Amanda,

Have a safe trip. Enjoy every second in the World. I'll be :cheer2: :cheer2: for you all the way from Michigan.

Have fun,
Beth

Dear Amanda, we will be taking care of our extra weight as soon as we return from the half! I had to leave my shorts from this past summer at home - they no longer fit! :( It was a real wake-up call! ::yes::

I'll be talking to you soon and IN PERSON! WOO HOO!! Did you call WDW and warn them?? :teeth:

Have safe travels! :sunny:

Doe I did warn the staff at Ohana's that there may be uncontrollable screaming on Friday! :)

Okay Good News:
My Dad went to the Dr. yesterday and she is very happy with the way his blood pressure is reacting to the prescription he is taking. It lowered from 190/110 to 134/98 - hopefully Beth will be able to tell me if that is good or now ;) He has been diagnosed with diabetes but she seems to want to control it through diet and has given him a machine to check his blood sugar levels. Basically she told him - if it is high don't eat a candy bar. I am also going to introduce my father to Splenda. He still has his stress today but I she doesn't think it will show anything of great concern. I'm still nervous about it - but not nearly as much as before.

Weighed myself at Curves last night and I am down 2 lbs! Of course after my workout and finding out about my Dad all the tension I had been holding broke and then I couldn't seem to eat enough. Evidently I've been not eating big portions and didn't even notice. Last night I ate a lot of food!!!

Bad news:
Eating to much food last night.

Plan for today:
B: low carb yogurt 8 carbs and 3 slices of bacon - 0 = 3 carbs total
L: left over pot roast and greenbeans/left over tuna casserole/tuna salad
s: Celery and veggie Dip
D: same choices from lunch
Water - 8 glasses
Exercise - Curves
I'm feeling very positive today - I forgot to read my mediation - I'll try to get to it at lunch. I have a to do list a mile long. I have errands to run, and we need to do laundry and pack up.

Hi Amanda,

I am sooo happy to hear the positive report on your Dad. Yes, Spenda is a wonderful thing :D

Great job on the 2 lb loss. Keep it up!!!!

Sundie

Great news on the 2 lbs. gone.

As far as your dad the b/p is better definately. The top number (134) is within the normal range, the bottom number is preferably to be under 90. Let the medication work for a little while. They may have to tweak it. Glad to hear he is feeling better.

Amanda, have a wonderful time in WDW! Say hello to ::MinnieMo and ::MickeyMo for me. And don't eat too many :mickeybar !!! Seriously, I am so proud of all our WISHers walking the walk this Sunday! I will be cheering for you all come Sunday from here in Connecticut! :cheer2:

Glad to hear dad got good news. That must be very comforting for you as you head out of town. ::yes:: And GREAT job with the 2 lb loss! I think that calls for a little cheer also! :thewave:

Talk to you when you get back Amanda!! Have a safe trip!

TTFN- Sharon

Hi Amanda,

Wilderness is right. The bottom number needs to be a bit lower, but he has been on the meds for less than a week. They will probably recheck in a week or so, and adjust the meds from there. Great news that the diabetes can be controlled with diet. I would strongly urge your dad to go to some nutritional classes. most insurances will cover this. It doesn't sound like the doc did a good job educating him. I am glad things are looking up for him.

Congrats on the 2 pound loss. That is awesome.
Have a great trip,
Beth
