How frustrating. You did the best you could, sweetie. Just be sure to push the water today to flush your system.

Have a great afternoon. Enjoy the run.

Hello my friends! I'm sorry I've been ignoring you the past couple of days. See I am very political and since the elections I've been posting alot on the Community Board. I will be back and to my sweet self by tomorrow. Where hopefully I will be posting more here again. I miss everyone.

Well yesterday was a complete disaster food wise. Lets just say Krispy Kerems, M&M's, and regular soda were involved. But I did get some :D for exercise - walked 2 miles, Water - drank 6 glasses (not 8 but pretty close and considering I don't like water), and for my Vitamin which I remembered to take.

Moving on to today! We have a big day today with lots of stuff planned. And I have an even bigger day tomorrow (more on that later).

Goals for today:
Exericse: 5 miles:earseek:
Water: 8 glasses plus Gatorade during the walk
Food: Under 55 carbs
Vitamin - Take it!

Plan for today:
B: I think I'm going to go make some eggs, ham, and cheese for breakfast.
L: ?? Not sure but I'm positive it will be delicious.
D: We are going out to dinner with our neighbors - so I will just make the best choices possible.

Misc. Goals for today:
Get Luandry Done.
Clean up the kitchen (I think things are growing in there)
Ger SIL a b-day present
Try to relax.

Tomorrow:
I have to get up at 7:30a.m. to head down to Kimmswick MO for a bridal brunch with some friends. After that we are going out to an early dinner with my in-laws for my SIL birthday. Which means I'll be going all day and all night tomorrow.

Food - I'll do my best
Exercise - Rest day
Water - 8 glasses
Vitamins - I'm going to need it!

Yeah - my weekend to do nothing turned into my weekend to do everything. Althought tonight was a lot of fun with my Disney loving neighbors and their family.

With all the hugs from yesterday my arms hurt! :) I am feeling better today, more centered and not quite so doom and gloom. I'm not sure what was wrong with me yesterday.

I just got some bad news this morning. A friend of the family has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. She is going for test this week and next week they are going to perform Brain surgery. We don't know how bad the situation is so if everyone could please say a prayer for her I would appreciate it.

I've been doing some thinking and I think I need to take a break for awhile from dieting. I just can't concentrate on that right now. So many things have taken a back burner since August and I just feel overwhelmed. I am definately going to stay on task with my training for the marathon I just think that dieting is going to take a back seat. I know I set a goal of 150 lbs by Thanksgiving but I don't think that will be possible. I have been on this thread for one year and 5 days and I am 13 lbs lighter then I was when I started. I would love to be one of those girls that cold weigh 125 lbs but the only way for me to get there would be to starve myself which is not healthy.

I think I've learned some good habits along the way this past year.

1) I've increased my vegetable intake. I eat a vegetable with every dinner and I've also learned to enjoy salads more.

2) I take a vitamin regularly now.

3) I've completely cut regular soda out of my life. I only drink diet soda, water, and crystal light.

4) I've discovered plenty of things that I can alter to be healthier for me without giving up taste.

5) My exercise has definately increased!

So all of this is very good. I'm still going to check in since I'll be training for the marathon.

~Amanda

Amanda, you've been doing a lot of thinking, and you have a LOT to celebrate!:Pinkbounc You've been treating yourself so well for the last year and you're planning on keeping it up! YAY!! Remember that WISH is all about being Inspired to Stay Healthy--not about dieting (thank goodness for that!). You're making a commitment to that goal--way to go!:cheer2:

If you don't mind, could I have your friend's first name? You can send if PM if you're not comfortable putting it here. . .I just like to pray with a specific person in mind. I don't need her last name.

 ,
Erin

I think you are on the right track, Amanda. All of the research I have read states that it is very difficult to train for a marathon and diet. Stick with healthy eating choices - fuel for your body - and you will be fine. This is all about the journey. You have made so many positive changes. You should be proud!!

How was Kimmswick? It feels like the perfect time of year to be visiting there.

Sending truckloads of prayers for Helen. ::yes::

I'll keep Helen in my prayers.

That's my mom's name.:D

Erin

Amanda, I'll keep Helen in my prayers, along with her family and friends and medical team.

So you've been here a whole year and you're 13 pounds lighter and you've developed some very healthy habits! HOORAY!!! You've accomplished so much and learned so much in a year! You should be very, very proud of you, princess: Amanda!

I'm so glad that we met on this WISH Journal board and that we've become friends, and I'm glad that you'll be sticking around! ::yes::

I think the word "diet" should be banished from our language. I think that we should all strive to eat a little better, more fruits and veggies, less processed foods, less white flour and sugar, more quality proteins and quality carbs. We don't have to call it a diet and we don't have to be "on" it or "off" it. We just have to listen to our bodies and give ourselves the nutrients we need to be our best selves.

   , dear princess: Amanda, and warm WISHes for another year of growing healthier!

 Amanda,

I will be saying prayers for Helen, her family, and you.

You've obviously done some serious thinking. You have made some incredible progress this last year. I am proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself.

Please keep us posted.
Beth
