Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Good Morning! I feel like I've already had a full day today. I got up got dressed and got the car an oil change before heading into work. A car seems to run so much better after an oil change! :)

Baby update - no baby. SIL went to the DR yesterday and if she doesn't go into labor by Wednesday they are going to induce her on Thursday. So I may not be here much on Thursday since I'll have my 3 year old nephew to watch.

Plan for today:
B: 1 hard boiled Egg (1) and a piece of cheese (1)
L: Not sure - something fast because I have errands to run at lunch. Maybe tuna salad, or I might make a lettuice sandwich :)
D: This is sort of up in the air as well. I need to find out if DH took his left over tacos to work today. If he didn't it will be mexican leftovers. If he did - then I think it will be an everyone fends for themselves night.

We have an hour meeting tonight that we are going to. Our friends have an internet busines and we are thinking about getting involved, plus it gives me time away from my fridge. I am so gosh darn hungry these days.

Well I'm off to hit some journals!

~Amanda

You are doing great Amanda! Just watch out for the munchie monster! You don't want him to sabotage all your efforts!! But I know what you mean about being so hungry. I usually get like that about a week and a half before TOM.
Maybe SIL will go into labor today. With both of my kids, as soon as we set a date for inducement, labor began that day. It was kinda like "well, if your coming in to get me, I might as well come out now....":teeth:
Have a great day today Amanda! :sunny:

Hi Amanda,

You are so busy today. Please try to take some time for yourself. I know you'll stay on track with your eating. I hope the baby comes soon. Induction isn't fun, I don't care if it is for labor or Atkin's.

Have a good evening,
Beth

LOL! Beth I like how you put that! Thanks for making me :)

I was busy yesterday but I did take some time out for me. After work I went home and took a 30 minute nap, threw a frozen pizza in the oven for DH and made me Chicken Ala Amanda for dinner - got ready and then out the door to our meeting. We didn't get back until 10:30 at night so it was a long night but we had lots of fun.

I was way in my carb total yesterday so that was great! And I stayed away from snacky foods. I was under on my water intake yesterday - but the bear is only counting food so it can roll over!Tonight it should be easy to avoid them as well. Although I don't want to get cocky. After work I'm going to go and get my mystic tan touched up. Then I'll go home and cook dinner, and get in a workout. DH and I also need to start cleaning the house for easter. I'll probably scrub the guest bathroom tonight and start straightening up my craft room.

Meal Plan for today:
B: 1 Hard Boiled Egg and a piece of Cheese - 2 carbs
L: Subway - a friend has offered to take me, how could I refuse? I'll be getting the Turkey Wrap for a change ;)
D: Polish Sausage with Broccoli and Cheese for me and Mac and Cheese for DH.

Amanda,

Aren't naps the best? Great job on your menu yesterday. I know you'll kick it up a notch with the water. Can you tell I watched Emeril Live last night? Enjoy your lunch with your friend.

Can I ask a question? What is chicken Ala Amanda? I'm late to your journal, so I could go digging. Doe raves about that and your quesadillas. Is it posted in the healthy eating section?

Have a great Tuesday.

Hee hee!! :teeth: I started calling it Chicken Quesadillas a la Amanda but I figured I had to drop the quesadilla part since I don't use a tortilla for mine! Now I just call it Chicken a la Amanda or Mexican Chicken a la Amanda! It tastes great no matter what I call it! I just bake a chicken breast, cut it up and sprinkle lots of Kraft Mexican 4 cheese blend shredded cheese on it & put in the microwave to melt. Then I put lots of salsa on my plate and eat the chicken, cheese & salsa together - yummy!!!

Amanda, how do you make your Chicken a la Amanda??

I am so intrigued by the Mystic Tan! I went to the website - I have to drive 15 miles to get to a location, but if the price is reasonable I may just try this before we go to Disney in June! I know it'll only last for the first week of vacation but I'll hopefully be able to lay out and get some "real" tan for the second week! :p I get tired of looking like Caspar the Friendly Ghost during the summer! :p

You're doing a great job, Amanda! Keep up the great work and enjoy the day!! :sunny:

All best laid plans go to waste sometimes. Lunch ended up being a chicken salad at a resturant rather then subway. It was still really good. But dinner ended up at a Mexican Resturant where I ordered Nachos. Now before I would have counted this day as cheat free since I had about 45 carbs or more to play with after my lunch today and the nachos no way went over the 45 carbs. However it was a bad food choice so I am going to not count this as a cheat free day. I also didn't get my exercise in but there was a lot to do around the house that took priority so unfortunantly the exercise had to suffer. Besides I'm sure I'll get plenty watching my 3 year old nephew tomorrow. So the bear won't be rolling over tonight but that is okay because I got all the stuff around the house done that I wanted to do and now I can pack up my menu for tomorrow since I'll be at someone else's house the whole day and will want to stay on program.

See ya tomorrow!

Well my SIL should be arriving at the hospital as I type this out. I am spending the day with my nephew and he is being so cute this morning. LOL! Hopefully he will remain that way! I've brought all my food with me today so I have no excuses for not staying on plan.

B: Protein Bar -4 carbs (I ate really early so just in case)
S: 3 eggs and cheese
L: Tuna Salad

Dinner will be at my house and I'm not sure what it will be yet. We might go grab something.

I would love to chat today but I've gotta go watch "Bambi"

~Amanda

Hey Amanda,

Have fun with your nephew today. At least he has better taste in movies than my DH. I'll keep your sil and her baby in my prayers today. I hope it is an easy delivery. I wanted to thank you for the recipe. It sounds easy and tasty. I'll try it Saturday.

Hi Amanda!

I'm just catching up with you WISH-sis. You have been busy I see. Have a great time with your nephew.

I like that you are prepared and have brought your own food. That's just great. You are doing so well and I wanted to tell you that.

I also loved when you said, working with weights makes you look better naked...working with weights makes you look better naked....working with weights makes you look better naked!

I've heard something similar before, but not quite this way. You crack me up! The next time I'm tempted to skip my work out I'm going to chant that phrase!

Take care of yourself. Have a great weekend and I'll be checking on you soon!

Great job planning for today Amanda!!! I need to take a page from your book and be more prepared like that!
Enjoy your time with your nephew!! Sounds like a fun day off work to me!:teeth: Could be worse things than watching Bambi!!
Have a great day Amanda!!:sunny:

Yes Sharon but I've already seen it twice today

Well we have a new baby in the family! Ryan Joseph was born about an hour ago and is doing good. They do have him in some machine (my BIL told me but I can't remember) because he had some fluid around his lungs - this is just a precausion so no need to worry! Mommy is also doing good and glad to have the pregnancy over with!

~Amanda

Hi guys. Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days. Things were crazy and to be honest I needed to take a break from concentrating on weight loss so much. I need to work on some other things, and there was some family stress, but it is over (for the most part) and I am back in action today!

B: Left over Ham, and low carb hot chocolate (4 carbs)
L: Tuna Salad
D: Hardees Cheese burger no bun.

Today is DH's birthday so I am going to pick up Hardees for him since he loves eating there. I'm going to try to get in some exercise tonight but it might not happen depending on what he wants to do.

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,

I'm glad to hear that the stress is mostly over. I hope your Monday is :sunny: . Enjoy the day, and happy Bday to your dh.
Beth

Tell Brian a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! from Todd & I!!

A new little nephew to cuddle - how wonderful!! Is he still doing well?? I LOVE that "new baby" smell!!

Hope you have a nice celebration with DH tonight! :sunny:

Hi Amanda!

I'm just checking on you and your brand new nephew! Like Doe said, I love that new baby smell and I hope all is right with him and the rest of your family.

Take care!

My nephew is doing great now. We had a little bit of a scare on Friday but we are out of the woods now and he is at home and has suprisingly strong lungs. ;)

Doing good so far today and really haven't been tempted. I think my body has missed my low carb foods. I changed lunch to a cheeseburger wrapped in lettuice with some broccoli and cheese as a side dish. Funny thing after eating it I was really hungry but I've been drinking water and trying to not think about junk food. LOL! Carb count today: 20 carbs (good estimate). I haven't had any soda yet today, I've been sticking with water and sugar free hot chocolate. I don't think I'll work out tonight since I am feeling really tired today. After all the running we did this weekend and the stress I am not at all surprised that my body is craving some R & R time. I convinced my manager to let me out of work an hour early so I can go get DH his birthday gift along with picking up a birthday card. Not sure what else we will be doing tonight.

~Amanda

I did great until the ice cream for Brian's birthday. So good job on water and food, just not dessert ;) Just teasing! I am going to try to follow induction for this week. I really want to be down to 150lbs by the end of the month. Actually I want to be at 149lbs by May 1st (I want to be in the 140's). So induction here we come! Menu plan:

B: 3 slices of Ham from Easter
L: Salad with eggs and meat for protein.
D: Pork Chops, Veggies and Salad, DH will have stuffing
S: Cheese

*sigh* I hope I can do this induction.

~Amanda

Induction? Wow! I'm impressed Amanda!;)
Here's some :wizard: that you reach your goal for May 1. 140's sound divine to me!!:teeth:
Okay, come on girl friend! I know you can do this! Just set your mind to it and invision what your gonna look like!:smooth:
Have a wonderful day today Amanda!:sunny:

Thanks Sharon - I'm trying to feel positive about it but I have to admitt that I am dreading it. I find induction to be to harsh for me - but I need to get serious, I need to get the sugar out of my system, and I need to see a weightloss so that it will motivate me to continue.

So far so good! I've had about 2.5 glasses of water. Working on the next glass. I had a 20 oz. Diet Pepsi at lunch along with my salad - easy on the cheese. I'm really looking forward to dinner tonight although not having just a bite or two of stuffing will be hard. It is so yummy! But I am determined to be good. Not sure what side dishes I am going to make for myself (besides salad) but I need to come up with something pretty yummy to keep myself from cheating.

I am going to work out tonight!

~Amanda
