Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Hi Amanda,

I keep toying with the idea of going back on induction, too. I hate the idea of doing it. I will be watching to see how you do. I waaiting for weigh in Friday before I decide. I might start next week, unless I talk myself out of it again.
Your menu looks yummy. Side dishes... Zucchini sauteed in garlic and sprinkled with parmesan is DH's favorite. Have fun working out tonight.

Good Luck,
Beth

:wave2: Hi, Amanda! Oops, I mean, Aunt Amanda. Congratulations on the new bundle of joy in your life.

I am seriously impressed with your induction plans. You can do this, Amanda, no doubt about it. You'll be eyeing up those 140s in no time at all. Now, me, well, I'd be happy to see the 150s again after the two week vacation I just gave myself, but ah, well, that's the price I have to pay for good-timing!:p

 and :sunny: for your Wednesday,
Erin

Thanks Everyone for coming by! Beth - that is my favorite side dish as well - I'm fresh out of zucchini though until Friday when I get to go shopping. Erin - thanks for the encouragement.

Well day 1 of Induction down - only 13 more to go. Lord give me strength! Actually yesterday wasn't bad. I did sneak a bite or two of DH's stuffing but otherwise avoided snacking and stayed away from anything not allowed on induction. Final menu looked like this:
B: 3 slices of Ham
L: 1.5 cups of salad, eggs, cheese, dressing
S: 2 Deviled Eggs
D: Butterfly porkchops with lemon juice and seasonings - 1 cup of Cauliflower fried in butter with mossarella and cheddar cheese.
- 1 spoonful of stuffing

Exercise - Nope! Was to tired and now I know why not only is Aunt Flo on her way but I have a cold. I took some Nyquill last night and was actually able to sleep through the night and this morning I'm on Dayquill.

Today's Plan:
B: 2 Sausage Patties (yummy!)
L: Was going to be Fish but I forgot to get it out to thaw this morning. Might still be fish - just not the kind I wanted. And 1 cup of Salad.
S: Gouda Cheese
D: 3 egg Omelet with ham and cheese and another cup of salad.

Exercise - nope! I don't want to overdue it since I want this cold out of my body.

I am having to work late tonight at work. They are serving pizza - I'm going to try to avoid it at all cost.

~Amanda

Amanda, you are a brave girl!! Doing induction is not easy. However, I also happen to know that you are a strong woman!! You can handle this!! You're doing great so far - just take it day by day and the time will fly by!

I'm sending a  for when you need it, extra :sunny: to keep things bright, a :teeth: (big smile) when you're feeling mopey, and some extra pizza-repelling :wizard: for this evening at work. Let everyone else eat that pizza - they might as well just glue it onto their butts & thighs!!!! ::yes:: What a sight THAT would be!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Make it a magical day, Amanda! I'll be thinking of you! :happy1:

Hi Amanda,

Great job with day one of induction! You will get through this.

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. You are doing the right thing listening to your body. You will get back to exercise when yoiu feel better. I'm sending some healing :wizard: .

I'll send some extra to help ou avoid that evil pizza. I'm sorry you have to work late. Ugh.

Take care
:sunny:

I ended up leaving work at noon and coming home. I work in the sales dept so I am literally on the phone all day with clients. And my throat started to ache something fierce along with shiverring because I think I have a fever. So I came home and proceeded to sleep for 2 hours. I am really craving orange juice right now but I don't want to go off induction - so I'm drinking plenty of water and trying to eat foods that are easy on the stomach. Lunch was the egg omelet I was planning on having for dinner. Dinner will probably be fish and a salad. DH told me to order a pizza but I know that I"ll give in and eat way to much pizza so I am just going to avoid that all together.

Well I'm going to go back and lay down for awhile.

~Amanda

I hope you're feeling better soon! Maybe you should postpone induction?? Do what you need to do to take care of you, OK?

As much as it pains me I have to give up on induction for the moment. I am still kinda sick, no fever, but still not feeling up to par. I'm at work today and I'm sure my clients are going to love listening to me talk with my hoarse voice  but what can you do?

I drank some Orange Juice this morning and I'm going to stick to some low carb foods but I'm going to give myself some more sugars with healthy juices and snacks.

Exercise is out of the question at the moment.

I did binge last night on pizza and Ice Cream, yet the scale moved down so that I guess is a good thing.

~Amanda

 for you, girlfriend. :happy1:

Don't sweat it - just a small postponement! Get yourself healthy and then you'll plow through induction and make it look easy! ::yes::

I hope you're feeling better very soon and that OJ sounds like just the thing to help you get there! That soothing liquid on your throat combined with all that vitamin C - sounds like a winning combination!

Wishing you :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: today!

 Amanda,

I'm sorry that you are still sick. Postponing induction sounds like what your body needs right now. Enjoy your OJ. I'm sending somehealing :wizard: to you. I hope you can rest this weekend,
:sunny:
Beth

I can't tell if I am getting better or worse. Yesterday I felt a little better, today I am back to feeling raunchy. Food was limited today - mostly been sticking with juices and smoothies to help keep the throat moist. White soda is my friend as well as toast. I'll be back in a couple of days.

~Amanda

Hi, Amanda I just wanted to congratulate you on your new nephew. :Pinkbounc
I hope you are feeling better. :D

Hope you get to feeling better!! Sending PD your way as well.

:sunny: and  and :wizard: for you, Amanda. I hope you feel well really soon. Make sure you give yourself lots of time to relax and rest. Napping is a very good thing.

Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven't been around - my Computer got a virus and completely crashed so we have no home computer at the moment and it is driving DH and I crazy! LOL! I am feeling a lot better. I finally got my appetite back yesterday and ate everything in sight and then some. Which means back on the diet today! I'm going to go grocery shopping tonight so I will start induction tomorrow - today will just be making good decisions. I'm still a little stuffed up in the nose so I may still give myself some juice.

DH is miserable as well. Hej has horrible allergies and we have had the windows in the house open. We have gone through 2 huge boxes of Kleanex in 3 days. We finally closed the windows and turned on the air (although it pained me to do so, it is only April) and he is starting to feel a little bit better. We were a great team this weekend.

Good News - the Scale hasn't moved to much so there hasn't been much damage done. I'll update my signature after this post. I helped give the bridal shower from H*ll this weekend but it went really well and I met up with a girlfriend from high school who hardly recognized me. I have to admitt I looked great yesterday! I took a picture and I'll try to post it next week when we get the new computer.

I dyed my hair red last night - thankfully it isn't permanent and should wash out in 28 shampoos.

Plan for the day - healthy choices!
B: ?? May go down to the cafeteria and get an omelet
L: Going home and I'm thinking tuna salad.
D: Kiebasa with broccoli and cheese.
Exercise - none tonight because I'm going grocery shopping after dinner.

~Amanda

You dyed your hair red???? Oh, my gosh, woman, you are my idol for today!!! You're so brave and I'm so jealous! Way to go!!!!

"Ah-uh, ah-uh, ah-uh, You got a New Attitude!":p

Erin

You've gone RED!!! WOW!!! Good for you! Can't wait to see the pics!! I'm glad the bridal shower went well and I'm also glad the stress of it is over! I'm also happy you're feeling better and saving induction until you're ready!

Sounds like quite a few of us are jumping back on the healthy living wagon, so you've got lots of company! ::yes::

I turned my air conditioning on yesterday too - too many allergies in our household. :p Tell Brian he's not alone!

Here we go, Amanda! We're going to treat our bodies in a healthy way so we've got the energy to handle everything else in our lives. We've got to make our healthy lifestyle a top priority!

LOL! Yes I've gone Red. I've been red before - for years actually. My hair's natural color is medium brown with red highlights so the red really isn't that much of a stretch. Unfortunantly- the light auburn highlights I put in have given my hair a bit of an orangy tint so thankfully it will wash out. LOL!

~Amanda:rolleyes:

I love red hair. I give you kudos, even if it did go orange. I did the red thing once, but it was not a good idea. WTG! for trying it again. I'm glad you are feeling better. Our AC was on as well. At least the shower is over, and you looked great at it.

Have a good one,
Beth

Hi Amanda! Glad to hear you are feeling better!:sunny: I know what you mean about having to keep the windows closed in the beautiful weather, but it sure is a whole lot nicer than suffering or taking a bunch of meds to just get thru the day. I am the same way with my allergies.
Wow! The sickness bug really ran rampant thru the DIS WISH journal people. I was out of commission for about 4 days and it seems like everyone else was as well. Hope we are all back OP this monday morning!:teeth:
Excellent plan for today. I too am going slow getting back OP today. I am going to make good choices, but not stress too much. Need to just get better, right? ::yes:: We will stick with that for today and go full throttle tomorrow, okay?:smooth:
I thought of you this weekend as I made my hubby chicken a la Amanda and those little breakfast muffins with the egg, sausage and cheese. He was looking at those kinda funny, but he did bring two for his breakfast this AM. Can't wait to find out what he thought of them!:teeth: He enjoyed the chicken, but next time I need to use a spicyer salsa!:earseek:
Hope your Monday is wonderful! Take good care of you!
TTFN-
Sharon
