Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Sharon I usually use Pace think and chunky Salsa - medium. I like the chunks of tomatos and peppers.

It feels good to be back on plan and not out of control. So far so good today and I am looking forward to dinner tonight so - yeah! I may actually work out tonight - I'll see if DH wants to go for a walk tonight. We really need to start training for the marathon - we've been lazy lately.

B: Eggs, 1 sausage patty, and 2 slices of bacon
L: Tuna Salad
S: Diet Coke
Water: 5 glasses gone!

I'm so sorry to read you weren't feeling well but it sounds like you are feeling better now.

I bet you look like one "red" hot momma with your dye job! I just love your boldness! I hope you are able to work out or at least go for a walk with you DH.

Didn't do great but didn't do bad either. I've only had one diet coke today and the rest was water and milk. I have been craving milk today and since it really isn't an unhealthy thing to eat I am not going to feel bad about indulging in a glass or two.

Dinner was grilled Kiebasa with some BBQ Sauce (light on the sauce) and leftover corn on the cob. Corn is pretty high in carbs but I wanted to get it out of the fridge while I'm on induction and now it is gone. I did also give into a chocolate doughnut tonight - but it is over and I am looking past it.

I went grocery shopping tonight and stocked up on meat, eggs, and salad in a bag. I've got plenty of Tuna and fixins to make Chicken Ala Amanda. I am going to try this broccoli salad recipe I found in my book that will be great to go as a side dishes for dinners. I feel very prepared to do induction.

:rolleyes: Of course I "officially" start on induction today and I am invited over to a friend's house for dinner of lasagna. :duck: Only me! I've already emailed and asked if I could bring a salad. My plan will be very little lasagna and lots of salad.

Menu for the day:

L: Salad with Grilled Chicken Strips, hardboiled Egg, and Cheese
D: Little Lasagna, salad, water

I would have been fine yesterday had we not gone out for ice cream after dinner. Augh. Oh well - moving on. Dinner last night was great. I had small piece of Lasagna, lots of salad, fresh greenbeans, and steamed broccoli. It was delicious!

I am babysitting my baby nephew after work today for about an hour. So I am going to have to pack a dinner for myself for when I am over at their place.

B: egg omelet
L: Salad with chicken strips and cheese
D: Chicken Ala Amanda or Chicken Florentine - which ever sounds better when I get home.
S: Sugar Free Jello with Whip Cream

We don't need to look back, right? We're just going to do what we know we NEED to do today - eat healthy, drink lots of water, move a little. It doesn't sound too tough, does it? We can do it!! ::yes::

Babysitting your new little nephew sounds wonderful!! I LOVE that "new baby" smell and lots of cuddle time!! I don't even mind the messy diapers when they're that small! Enjoy him, cuz he sure will grow up fast!!

I love new babies, especially other peoples. I get to sleep through the night now. I bet today you've been totally on plan. Keep that water going. Thank you for all of your support. It has helped.

Why Yes Beth - I have been totally on plan today! And it feels great! Modified Menu:

B: 3 egg omelet with green peppers, ham, and cheese.
L: Went to a Chinese buffet place where they cook the food in front of you. I went with broccoli, snap peas, mushrooms, and crab meat - light on the sauce and plenty of water.
D: I didn't go home at lunch so I ate a fast and late dinner of Chicken Ala Amanda, some sliced cheese, and for dessert sugar free jello with Whip Cream. YUMMY!

I have about 10 minutes before my hair is back to being a "dark blond" the orange parts of my red hair have gotten worse over the last couple of days:cool3:

Well the "Dark Blond" color came out a medium brown with red highlights. LOL! But I like it so that is all okay!

Already had my breakfast and vitamins this morning! I was up a little earlier then usual because DH decided to stay home today. He has been under a lot of stress at work and there is a break in the work so he decided to stay home and destress. Of course I still had to come to work - but I'll go home at lunch and visit him.

Menu:
B: 2 Eggs w/ slice of American Cheese - 3 carbs
L: Salad with Chicken Strips, cheese, and Ranch Dressing
S: Sugar Free Jello with Cool Whip
D: ??? Something with Hamburger since that is what I set out. As well as Salad! Maybe I'll make Tacos and I'll have Taco Salad!

LOL! I'm in a great mood today because I weighed myself this morning and the scale gods smiled on me with a 152! I've updated my signature and I am feeling good. If I can get through the weekend I will be doing great!

I woke up late this morning so my breakfast consisted of 2 slices of American Cheese (2 carbs) and an Energy Drink. These drinks are great they have 0 carbs and 0 sugars. The energy comes from the fact that it is filled with B-vitamins and Amino Acids. My Vitamins are also taken this morning.

L: I'm going home for lunch because I want to do extra extra good today. I'm thinking Chicken Ala Amanda or Tuna Salad with extra celery.

D: We are going out tonight to some mouse races for charity. There will be food there but probably nothing allowed on Atkins. I am going to have a big salad at home along with some lunch meat I think. That way I won't be hungry when we get there.

The Weekend:
We may be buying a new car this weekend so that will be on Saturday. Saturday night we are going to a friend's house for a meeting about an internet business we are thinking of doing. They are serving Pizza. I asked last night if I could bring a salad - which is fine of course. Sunday we are going out to dinner with DH's dad for his birthday - not sure where we are going or what we are doing.

I'm so close to the 140's now -- only 2 more pounds till I can claim a new clippie and only 3 more pounds until I am in the 140's. Next week I am going to have to start exercising again. Dh and I need to train for the half marathon and I need to get back into THE FIRM.

Well I'm off to get some work done and read some journals.

So far so good today - I need to drink a bit more water so I am going to concentrate on that this afternoon. Only 4 glasses down the hatched so far.

I added 5 whole wheat crackers to my lunch today. I'm feeling a little tired and thought the extra 9 carbs that they provide might help to perk me up a bit. My body isn't use to not having 30 carbs a day. So far I am up to 13 carbs for the day.

I didn't do bad tonight. Could have been better and certainly wasn't clean Atkins. I stuck to diet soda or water. Had some Devilled eggs and some little smokies wrapped in bacon. I avoided the sandwiches, breaded chicken wings, brownies, and cakes. I did have 3 small cookies - and that really was my only downfall. I'm not going to beat myself up over it. Especially since in the past I would have just so "who cares" and eaten like a pig.

Yesterday was a complete failure! And I really had the best of intentions. It all started with breakfast where I had 2 eggs, salsa and cheese - pretty good. Then we decided to go and buy a car. Why does it take so freaking long to do this? It took us 30 minutes to find the car we liked and to test drive it. Then we had to sit at the dealership for 3 hours!! To do all the paperwork. So by now it is 2pm and I am STARVING! They were having "Customer Appreciation" with a free lunch of hot dogs and fries. I was so hungry I inhaled two hot dogs on their buns, I managed to stick to water. After all this we headed to our friends house for our meeting. I brought salad so I did manage to get in about a cup of salad greens - but I also had 3 slices of thick crust pizza - I was starving! I'm really kicking myself but in all honesty I should have planned better - it just never occured to me that we would be a t a dealership for 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Today - I gotta do this today! Thankfully the scale has not changed and I was to lose the 3 lbs this week to put me in the 140's! So Breakfast - Either Protein Bar or Tuna Salad w/ 5 whole wheat crackers. Lunch - we are going over to SIL's for FIL's birthday. Not sure what will be on the menu but I will do my best to weed through all of it. Dinner - Will be here at home and I have a recipe with chicken that I am going to try - plus some salad or broccoli.

Good things about yesterday - I found this great perfume at the mall (Yes we also went to the mall somewhere during the day) it is by Escada called "Island Kiss" I love it! It is very tropical smelling. We love the new car it is a Black 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe - slightly used with 20,XXX miles on it. Only 2 things wrong with it - some paint that looks like it was eaten through by bird poop - we are going to have them buff it out and repaint. And a worn spot in the back seat where it looks like a car seat may have rubbed against it. Other then that - it is like brand new!

DH is going out of town Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. I'm very sad because we haven't been apart since we've moved in together over 3 years ago. But I"m sure it will be okay.

You're doing it, Amanda! You're on your way to being in the 140s! Hooray! Your positive energy is so catchy--I can feel it helping me to stay focused and on track.

Congratulations on your new car! The dealership part stinks, but the new car part is fun, isn't it?

Sorry that you're going to be going solo for a few days, but think of it this way--now you have an excuse for a romantic reunion on Wednesday or Thursday! :love:

Your new car sounds great, and now I have an excuse to go to the mall, and check out the perfume. Saturday was off program, but you're back on and you'll be in the 140's in no time. Sorry to hear DH will be out of town, can you get together with a girlfriend on night? Keep up the great work.

Today wasn't bad.

L: Eggs w/Cheese, 3 pieces of bacon, 1 biscuit (all good except for the biscuit) and WATER
S: 5 to 6 Gummy Bears - completely slipped my mind that I couldn't have it until I was eating my last one and thought "Um, yeah these are full of sugar!"
D: Chicken Florentine (pretty good) with Broccoli and Cheese (yummy)
S: Sugar Free Jello and lots of Whip Cream (I had a sweet tooth tonight).

Tomorrow's Menu:
B: Eggs and Cheese
L: Leftover Chicken Flrentine with Salad
D: I have to go and take the car back to the dealership so dinner will more then likely be on the run. I'll pick up either a Hardee's Low Carb Burger or a Subway Salad.

I'm :sad: today. DH is leaving this afternoon for a business trip and won't be home until Wednesday evening. I know this is a short trip but we haven't been apart since the night before our wedding. I know I am not going to get any sleep tonight or tomorrow. :bored:

Already have my menu planned for today except that I switched breakfast from eggs and cheese to Protein Bar! I was a little weepy this morning so I wasn't really moving up to speed.

Well I guess I should get some work done and stop worrying.
