I know you're having fun with Mickey at the moment but I thought I'd stop in and let you know you've been in my thoughts this week. I hope you and Brian are having a wonderful time. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back tomorrow!!

We're back! Wow what a trip. I am going to be working on the start of my Recap and editting some pictures. We took a TON of pictures! I'll post more tomorrow.

Yes I am back from vacation and sitting in my cubicle going through the 333 emails in my inbox. Fun! :earboy2:

Got on the scale this morning at 165 lbs - think I ate alot over the last week? So we are back to Protein Power! Only 30 carbs per a day for the next 2 weeks. Yes I realize that means Christmas but to be honest our Christmas dinners are usually ham and shrimp so I can avoid the other stuff. I will be going grocery shopping today to pick up lots of fresh supplies for low carbing.

Menu:
B: - nothing - wasn't hungry this morning.
S: Diet Coke
L: Big Salad w/lots of veggies and cheese
S: ? Not sure - peanuts maybe.
D: ? Still not sure - we may order something in (CHICKEN WINGS!) or I might make something. Will depend on grocery shopping.
Exercise - Well it is going to be a high of 36 degrees today but that is not going to stop me from walking 4 miles!

Water - 8 glasses - I need to flush the system!

I've got days 1 and 2 done of my trip report but have not posted it yet. I'll probably get something going tonight or tomorrow. I am also still working on uploading the pictures.

Welcome back to the bitter cold!! Brrr..... can you believe these temps? Please tell me it was warm and sunny in WDW. I need that thought to get me through this month of December! I am looking forward to your trip report. Have fun going through your pile of emails. :)
 
Lisa and Terry - thanks for stopping by! Lisa - it is good to see ya again sista! How is it going? Terry - could it be any freaking colder? I think it is going to warm up later in the week - or at least I hope so. It was very very warm in Orlando - 85 degrees everday - gotta love it.

Did good today for being day #1 - I know tomorrow will be tougher because the fatique of not having any sugar will set in. It is going to be rough but so worth it on Friday when I weigh myself.

Recap for today:
B: Nothing
L: Big Salad, couple pieces of crab meat - 5 carbs
S: Peanuts - 4 to 6 carbs
D: 8 Chicken Wings - 8 carbs
S: 1 Ghiradelli's Chocolate square - 8 carbs, and a Low Cark Klondike bar - 5 carbs
Total: 30 to 32 carbs - not bad.
Exercise: it was just to dang cold to go outside so I came home and did the bills, cleaned the kitchen, and did the grocery shopping. No excuses for tomorrow.

It looks like you're handling re-entry well!! Today will be tough, but you are one strong woman!! You can get through it!

Walking in the cold :rolleyes: - remind me why I signed up for this half marathon??? Do I HAVE to walk in the cold to get ready for it???? What was I thinking! :p I'll do a mile tonight if you will!! We can at least get out for one quick 15 minute mile, right? Even if it's cold????

Hiya Doe! Yeah one mile is going to be my goal tonight - if not 2 miles! I forgot how unhappy I am at this weight and I am wanting to get rid of it quickly.

Plan for today:
B: 2 ham and swiss cheese roll ups - 2 carbs for the ham and 2 carbs for the cheese = 4 carbs.
L: Shrimp and broccoli Alfredo w/noodles - 10 carbs
D: Terrayaki blend - 11 carbs
S: Glass of wine - 10 carbs
Total = 35 - CHECK
I'm going to try to keep my menu between 30 and 35 carbs today. Right now it is right at 29 but I am wondering about that late afternoon snack - it might not be enough.

Water - yesterday I had 6 glasses - today I am striving for 7. - CHECK
Vitamins - already taken. - CHECK]
Exercise - walk one mile - CHECK

I woke up to snow flurries this morning. So any extra :sunny: that you could send my way would be appreciated.

I'm off to get some work done!

My journal has been edited! ;) I'll be doing my mile tonight after work. Thanks for the nudge, cuz you KNOW I'd be lazy and not do anything if left to my own devices. :p

Now, we're both committed and NO EXCUSES! Having a friend to "walk the walk" with me is very helpful, even if we're not walking in the same town or state. :hug:

EDIT: Just finished reading the first 3 days of your trip report over on the Trip Reports board. Sounds wonderful so far! Can't wait to hear more!!

Got 4 :p for 4 :p today!
It was a struggle today and I will admitt to feeling very blah this afternoon but I worked through it. I am glad that I decided to add some noodles to my lunch as it was really filling and kept me from snacking all afternoon. DH opened the wine for me so although it wasn't planned - I did drink it with him. puckerup:

Got some interesting news at work today. Seems my contact in CA has quit but we haven't been informed as of yet. This might explain his lack-luster attitude the last 2 months. I wish he had just been honest and told me instead of ignoring and frustrating me. The good news is that with him leaving I will actually get some breathing room at work since I will no longer have a contact. Which means my January goal should go down.

Did anyone see that truck that went by? Because I think it ran me over :faint: I knew this day was coming - the day I hit the wall because my body is use to a nice unhealthy supply of sugar and now I have been denying it. Last night after my walk and dinner I proceeded to sleep from about 8:00pm to 9:00pm - got up for about an hour and then went back to bed. Then I had issues getting out of bed this morning and overslept by 15 minutes. First thing I did this morning was drink a diet coke for energy and I'm thinking I am going to need a coffee at about 10a.m.

Plan for today:
B: 2 ham and cheese roll-ups - 4 carbs
S: Coffe - 5 carbs and a cookie - 13 carbs (estimated from Fit Day)
L: half a leftover steak, greenbeans or broccoli w/cheese - 6 carbs
S: Cookie - 13 carbs
D: Everyone fends for themselves night - and I'm thinking big omelet with green peppers, ham, and cheese. - 4.5 carbs
Exercise: NONE
S: Low carb ice cream bar - 5 carbs
Total food = 45.5 carbs
Water: 7 to 8 glasses - 7 total

I know yesterday was a tough one but I'm hoping that you awoke today feeling good and with some extra energy! The first week back after vacation is always an extra-tough one - just get through it and next week will be easier.

Yesterday was especially tough. And it increased when our company brought in fresh chocolate chip cookies - a weakness I can not sustain from. I had 2 cookies! And went over my carb limit by more then 15. Live and Learn I guess. I also didn't get my exercise in - but I am now completely unpacked, Laundry is completely done from vacation, bills are paid, and I can relax now when I am at home. It is a great feeling.

Today's Plan:
B: turkey and cheese wraps - 4 carbs
L: Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo w/Noodles - 10 carbs
D: Might be another fend for yourself night. In which I may do another omelet or do lettuice wraps.
S: If needed.

Water - 8 cups
Exercise - 3 miles.

This morning I jumped on the scale and it said 160.5 lbs - that is a 3.5 loss already. I know most of this is water but I am still happy to see it gone!

Congratulations on the loss Amanda!

Umm, I'm not sure this is the best time for this, but you did ask for the recipe to my Kahula cookies.

2.5 C flour 3/4 c sugar
1t baking soda 3/4 c brown sugar
1 t salt 1 t vanilla extract
1 C butter, softened 1T Kahlua
2 eggs
3/4 cup semi-sweet choc. chips.
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
extra flour

Preheat oven to 375*.

Mix flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugars. Add vanilla, Kahlua, and eggs. Gradually add the flour mixture. You may need to add a few tablespoons of flour. It depends on humidity, etc. You want it the consistancy of tollhouse cookies. Add chips.

Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-11 minutes until edges are golden.

Beth your cookies sound delicous! I will file them away for another time - can't bake right now - WAY to much temptation.

Well the scale said an even 160 today - yeah! I'm sure I could have lost a whole pound if I could just avoid the dang cookies here at work. Good news - they are all stale now so it won't be an issue today! Yippie!

Not a very good day overall. Must try to be better today! Checked the weather forecast and it is going to be highs of 40's on Saturday and highs of 20's on Sunday. Guess we will walk on Saturday then. I told DH that we don't have to do exactly 10 miles - but we need to walk for at least 8.

Today's Plan:
B: 2 eggs and cheese - 3 carbs, no-sugar hot chocolate - 8 carbs = 11
L: Lettuice wrap w/ham and cheese = 3 to 5 carbs
S: Peanuts
D: ?? Not sure. More then likely fend for yourself night again. Hehehe. Just can't seem to get the energy or motivation to cook.
Exercise: None.
Water: 8 glasses.
