Hi everyone!

Yes, you read the title right.....2016!! Some of you may have gotten to know my fantastic husband Jay (Mr. Romance) through his PJ with our recent Memories VR. Well, we have decided that we want to do it again, just bigger and better this time :D

For those of you who didn't follow along let me introduce us:

Us and Cake.....who doesn't love cake??

Thusfar we've had the following ideas:

*Ceremony at SBP
*Reception at Ariel's
*DP Somewhere in EPCOT

But we're not sure how to make the day flow or what times to use. We'd prefer a whole day of festivities -- but not sure how to structure the day itself. We also are looking into some other welcome dinners and other assorted shindigs to toss into the mix for the guests.

We are planning on using blue and green again, as they are our favorite colors, but in different shades. I was thinking of deeper shades, but I am totally open to any sort of suggestions anyone has (after all we'll have loads of time to get things set in stone!).

I am also planning on tracking our saving for the big event as well to perhaps help other brides to be out there that may need to save up themselves. At the moment we've opened a new account and started it with $50, which wouldn't even buy us enough cokes for everyone!! At the moment our minimum plan is to get $100 a month put away (more if we can) which should give us at least the minimum when the time comes (again this is assuming that they don't radically increase the prices in the next 4 years!).

Really looking forward to planning again and getting another day to celebrate our lives together!

Very exciting!!! I'll be reading along!! I think we're looking at a 10 year which will be 2021 :goodvibes

It was so funny because we both were looking at DFTW's website the week following our ceremony! I guess that it's good that we both feel the same way about it though:thumbsup2

On another note, not sure if Jay told you before but I lived in the Greater Cincy area for a year after college! I lived in Erlanger with a friend of mine at the time but worked in Cincinnati (which is probably what most people do!).

He did!! Small World!! I live in Florence in a condo where the old Drive-In Movie Theater used to be. It's a nice area, and you're downtown in just a few minutes!!

We were talking about a VR when we were in Disneyland... not sure if we want it in Florida or California :) I'm going to start saving as well!

Well, Amanda, I will be reading along. I've really enjoyed reading your and Jay's PJ's. It's funny that you are thinking of doing another VR at WDW, because we've only been married for three weeks and I've already told my husband I want to do a VR at WDW. (Our ceremony and reception were awful, so I want a do-over. The issues had nothing to do with DFTW - they were great and that's why we'd do it again with them, only different officiant and reception venue.) We did Escape and would probably downsize to Memories next time, and add in some other fun stuff. I can't wait to read more about it!

Awesome! I've pretty much already told Doug that I intend on us doing a ten year VR... and we aren't even married yet! :lmao: I'm excited to read you and Jay's plans again! :goodvibes

I'm so excited you started a PJ already! I'm definitely going to be following along, I loved reading your first PJ! And Amanda, I love that picture of you :goodvibes

Oh no.....what happened?? If you don't want to reveal all here just PM me. Do-overs are perfectly acceptable in any case! I LOVED our little Memories ceremony, the location was perfect, my only complaint was the flowers, but they photographed well so I'm over it!

Excellent....there is no reason why you have to do it once--how many people get married multiple times? So why should people who stay married not have their big day again?

I'm so excited you started a PJ already! I'm definitely going to be following along, I loved reading your first PJ! And Amanda, I love that picture of you :goodvibes

Thanks :D TBH I don't remember doing that, but I am forever a poser when I am in the mood.....should probably have done more of that for Randy's shots but I wanted to make sure we had 'nice' shots that I toned it down ;)

I just found this! I love your idea! I can't wait to hear more about it! I love that he did his own PJ! that is TOO adorable!!!

Yay! So excited to read about this! The week after we got married, I convinced DH to do a 10 year VR so it will be in 2021. I was thinking of doing it on a beach location and I want a DP this time! But I also reallllllly want pics at DL with the "Happily Ever After" painted on the wall!

Thanks so much ladies! I'm hoping that it won't get too boring (or dusty in here) over the next 48ish months! Actually when I hear that, I keep thinking -- OMG that's not THAT long!

So I'm leaning more towards a darker blue/green combo than we had this time around. Something like this possibly (I found this online, so ignore the individual items and just look at the colors!):

nautical_wedding_ideas___pearlseventblog.jpg

What do you all think? I definitely like the navy/midnight blue shade but I'm not sure on the green.

oooohhh aaahhh.. No need to worry about that color scheme.. I'm in LOVE! Of course, I love the deep blue (my fav, btw) but that shade of green is really complimentary! I absolutely love the sash on the dress that accents the green color, and the green and blue in his potential tie.
I love what you've picked out so far! Nicely done!!

Oh, I'm so jealous. I'm not sure if I will be able to talk DH into a VR. Maybe something very small. I loved reading Jay's account of your day, I would love to read along with your plans :) I don't think I've come across a repeat DFTW-er. What a great opportunity to use all that retrospective knowledge!

Thanks Kate! I am still on a search for the dress -- but what I keep thinking is if I find something I really like now, I can wait until it goes discontinued and then get it at a bargain price! Either that or have something custom made. I am just not keen on a lot of the styles that seem to be the 'in' thing. Perhaps I'm just too simple!

Our original plan was to do an escape next and then for 20 years do a Wishes, but we decided to just bypass Escape and go the whole hog! Although we will do something for the big 2-0 just not sure what yet!! I'm hoping that by being a 'repeat customer' that may score us some brownie points when it comes time to start the process again, but we'll see!!

Amanda, I love that you're already planning for 2016! It's starting to look like that will (maybe, hopefully, finally) be our VR year -- only it will be our 25th, God willing!! We have also started a brand new savings pot as well. I've decided I'm saving every $1 bill that crosses my palm as well as other bits here and there so as not to effect the family budget. :thumbsup2

I will definitely be following along to see what you and Jay come up with for your next celebration! :goodvibes

I guess it's time for me to pop up and say hi! I'll be hijacking here from time to time with my own ideas and how I've managed to save money for the DFTW fund!

It's nice to read that there were some people who enjoyed my PJ and report of the big day last time....hopefully I will give you a few laughs this time! :cool1:

Well so far my wacky idea for 2016 is that while the bride and her party ride in either the horse and carriage to the ceremony or possible Cinderella's coach, me and my boys will lead the way or follow behind on....SEGWAYS! :lmao: Think about it....how many awesome pictures would that make...6+ guys in their suits, heading down the Broadway on Segways?

Not sure it's possible yet, but I'll be looking into it! Apparently I'm not the first to have a similar idea but I just think it'll be awesome if I can pull it off.

As I was the one who planned out our VR in February 2012, Amanda is going to be taking a very active role in 2016, but I really want our nephews and our niece to have a role in the day. Ideally, I would like my eldest nephew, Ethan (who will be 16 by then!) to be my best man. I'm so very proud of the young man he's become. My second eldest nephew, Harvey (who will be 10) will be my best man junior. He's such a special little boy in so many ways. Next is my littlest nephew, Oscar (he'll be 6) will be a page boy/ring bearer, something along those lines. He is such a character and I predict he'll amuse us all no end! Finally, my niece, Aeryn (who will be 8). What can I say about her other than she is every inch a princess! She will take over the role of flower girl! To make all of that happen, my sister's families will need to be able to make it to Florida...hence, they've had 4 years notice to make that possible!

There is another variable in this too...we have a tentative plan to move back to the Michigan between now and 2016. To be honest, it's something we would do tomorrow if we could! There are a lots of things we'll need to take care of and do before it will be possible and that may have some impact on our plans along the way! :rolleyes1

Well I hope you enjoy reading along on our 4 year journey!

Hi Jay and Amanda!!
Just wanted to stop by and say that, although I didn't comment much on your PJ/TR (I have a dreadful habit of reading but not commenting!!!), I enjoyed it immensely!! It was one of the sweetest and prettiest ceremonies I have seen and the photos were to die for!!! Lucky you, planning a 'Wishes' VR for four years time!! I would love to do a 'Wishes' event, but know that I would never get enough family/friends over there to justify a 'Wishes' VR.
I am currently planning a 'Nifty Fifty Fantasy' for next year, for two friends and my 50th birthday (cruise for seven night on the 'Fantasy', followed by seven night at WDW). There will be a designated day during the WDW portion which will be an 'official 50th celebration day'. Although we are all 50 in the same year, our birthday's are pretty spread apart, so we figured that we would have this special day together. I would like to do something along the same lines as you did at 'Fantasmic' (assuming it is still running by then). Your dinner looked great, and I would love to do this as a surprise for my friends and family. I realize you went through DFTW when arranging yours, and I would have to go through events, but I think I could pull it off!!
If we like DCL (which of course we will), we are planning a small VR on board for our 20th (2020), but just with our children and any grandchildren we may have by then :scared1: DH has already agreed to this. Then again, maybe, just maybe, I can pull it forward to our 15th in 2015.......... :scratchin

Aww too sweet!!

For our Fantasmic! dinner, that WASN'T through DFTW. We didn't have the option to add a reception with the Memories package so we did that through Disney Catered Events separately. If you want the contact info for our Event Coordinator just PM me or Jay and we can get it to you!

I am all for the big 50th! I wanted to do something massive for my 40th in 2015 but couldn't do that and then the VR so I said I'd rather have that instead! My plan is that should we be back living in the US by then (which is very likely) then Jay and I can always pop down for a few days to celebrate it in something low key.
